(He knew quite well that Jesus had been delivered up out of envy.

(For he knew the high priests had handed him over out of envy.)

This filled the high priest Annas and his allies, the Sadducean party, with bitter jealousy;

Out of jealousy the patriarchs sold Joseph into Egypt; but God was with him,

But when the Jews saw the crowds they were filled with jealousy; they began to contradict what Paul said and to abuse him.
