Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘ You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
“I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do.
Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’
But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say.
And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit.
The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.”
And He said to His disciples,
“ For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on.
1 Corinthians 7:32
But I want you to be free from concern. One who is
unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
2 Timothy 2:4
No soldier in active service
entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.
Make sure that your character is
free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “ I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”
1 Peter 5:7
casting all your
anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
