4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and none shall make them afraid. For the mouth of LORD of hosts has spoken it.

4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.

4 Each of them will (J)sit under his vineAnd under his fig tree,With (K)no one to make them afraid,For the (L)mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken.

4 But each man will sit under his grapevine(I)and under his fig treewith no one to frighten him.(J)For the mouth of the Lord(K) of Hostshas promised this.

From Exile To Victory

9 Now why do thou cry out aloud? Is there no king in thee. Has thy counselor perished, that pangs have taken hold of thee as of a woman in travail?

9 Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counseller perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.

9 “Now, why do you (V)cry out loudly? Is there no king among you,Or has your (W)counselor perished,That agony has gripped you like a woman in childbirth?

9 Now, why are you shouting loudly?(T)Is there no king with you?Has your counselor perished(U)so that anguish grips you like a woman in labor?

9 Why are you crying so loud now? There's no king among you, is there? Perhaps your advisor has died? For pain has overtaken you like a woman in labor.

10 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail. For now thou shall go forth out of the city, and shall dwell in the field, and shall come even to Babylon. There thou shall be rescued. There LORD w

10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

10 (X)Writhe and labor to give birth,Daughter of Zion,Like a woman in childbirth; For now you will (Y)go out of the city,Dwell in the field,And go to Babylon.(Z)There you will be rescued;(AA)There the Lord will redeem youFrom the hand of your enemies.

10 Writhe and cry out,(b)(V) Daughter Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you will leave the city(W)and camp in the open fields. You will go to Babylon;there you will be rescued;(X)there the Lord will redeem you(Y)from the power of your enemies!

10 Be in pain! Be in labor, you daughter of Zion, like a woman about to give birth, because now you will depart from the city, living in the open fields. To Babylon you will go. There you will be delivered, there the LORD will rescue you from the power of your enemies."

11 And now many nations are assembled against thee, who say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye see [our desire] upon Zion.

11 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.

11 “And now (AB)many nations have been assembled against youWho say, ‘Let her be polluted,And let our eyes (f)gloat over Zion.’

11 Many nations have now assembled against you;(Z)they say, “Let her be defiled, and let us feast our eyes on Zion.”

11 "Now many nations have gathered against you, saying, "Let her be defiled,' and "Let's look down on Zion.'

12 But they know not the thoughts of LORD, nor do they understand his counsel, for he has gathered them as the sheaves to the threshing-floor.

12 But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.

12 “But they do not (AC)know the thoughts of the Lord,And they do not understand His purpose; For He has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

12 But they do not know the Lord’s intentions(AA)or understand His plan, that He has gathered themlike sheaves to the threshing floor.

12 But they don't know the thoughts of the LORD, and they don't understand his tactics, for he will gather them like harvested grain to his threshing floor.

13 Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion, for I will make thy horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass, and thou shall beat many peoples in pieces. And I will devote their gain to LORD, and their substance to LORD of the whole earth.

13 Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.

13 “Arise and (AD)thresh, daughter of Zion,For your horn I will make ironAnd your hoofs I will make bronze,That you may (AE)pulverize many peoples,That you may (AF)devote to the Lord their unjust gainAnd their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.

13 Rise and thresh,(AB) Daughter Zion, for I will make your horns ironand your hooves bronze,so you can crush many peoples.(AC)Then you(c) will set apart their plunder(AD)to the Lord for destruction, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.

13 Get up and smash them to pieces, daughter of Zion, because I will make your horn like iron and your hooves like bronze! And you will beat many people to pieces, and I will consecrate their dishonest gain to the LORD and their assets to the Lord of the entire earth."
