And the seventy returned with joy, and said: Lord, even the demons are subject to us through thy name.
Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and authority over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
And he called to him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they might cast them out, and care every disease and every infirmity.
and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them: The kingdom of God has come near to you.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Cure the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
And after these things, the Lord appointed seventy others, also, and sent them, two and two, before his face, into every city and place to which he himself was about to go.
And these signs shall attend those who believe. In my name they shall cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and, if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
While Peter was speaking these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all that heard the word. And the believers that were of the circumcision, as many as had come with Peter, were astonished, because on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit: for they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God. Then Peter answered:
And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues, and prophesied.
