So Joseph settled his father and brothers and gave them a possession in Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses (Goshen), as Pharaoh commanded.
Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the region of Goshen. They acquired property in it and became fruitful and very numerous.
And Jacob was living in the land of Goshen for seventeen years; so the years of his life were a hundred and forty-seven.
Now some time after these things happened, Joseph was told, “Your father is sick.” So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim with him [to go to Goshen].

And Joseph will say to his brethren, and to his father's house, I will go up and announce to Pharaoh, and say to him, My brethren and my father's house which were in the land of Canaan, came to me. And Joseph will bring Jacob his father and will set him before Pharaoh, and Jacob will bless Pharaoh. And Pharaoh will say to Jacob, How many the days of the years of thy life? And Jacob will say to Pharaoh, The days of the years of my sojourning, thirty and a hundred years: little and evil were the days of the years of my life, and they reached not the days of the years of the life of my fathers in their sojournings. And Jacob will bless Pharaoh, and he will go out from before Pharaoh.
