In his days, Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt went against the king of Assyria to the river of Euphrates. And king Josiah went against him, and was slain of him at Megiddo when he had seen him. And his servants carried him dead from Megiddo and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in his father's room.
Nevertheless, Josiah turned not his face from him, but made him ready to fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Neco out of the mouth of God. And when he was come to fight in the valley of Megiddo, the shooters shot against the king Josiah. And the king said to his servants, "Carry me away for I am sore hurt." And his servants had him out of the chariot and put him in another, and brought him to Jerusalem where he died and was buried in the sepulchre of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
and along by the borders of the children of Manasseh, Bethshean with her towns, Taanach with her towns, Megiddo with her towns and Dor with her towns. In those dwelt the children of Joseph the son of Israel.
And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Bethshean, and her towns: and the inhabiters of Dor, with the towns pertaining to the same: and the inhabiters of Endor with the towns of the same: and the inhabiters of Taanach with her towns and the inhabiters of Megiddo with the towns of the same, even three countries:

Then shall there be a great mourning at Jerusalem, like as the lamentation at Hadadrimmon in the field of Megiddo.
Baanah the son of Ahilud had Taanach, Megiddo, and all Bet-Shean which is by Zarethan beneath Jezreel, and from Bet-Shean to Abelmeholah and unto beyond Jokmeam;
And this is the sum of the tribute, which king Solomon raised to build the house of the LORD and his own house, and Mello and the walls of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
And when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw that, he fled the way to the garden house. And Jehu followed after him and said, "Smite him also." And they smote him in his chariot at the going up to Gur by Ibleam; and he fled to Megiddo, and there died.
Kings came and fought. Then fought the king of Canaan at Taanach, upon the water of Megiddo. But the silver that they coveted, they carried not away.
