To these he also presented himself alive after his suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.



For even his brothers did not believe in him.


they saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed.




And when he saw one of them being treated unjustly, he defended him and avenged the oppressed by striking down the Egyptian. And he supposed that his brethren understood that God was granting them deliverance through him, but they did not understand. But the man who was wronging his neighbor pushed him aside, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?' At this remark Moses fled, and became an exile in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.




We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at the end of the radiance that was fading away.

But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a reviling judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"










Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in his words and deeds.
