Obey your leaders and submit to them; for they are keeping watch over your souls, as men who will have to give account. Let them do this with joy, and not with grief, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God; consider the outcome of their life, and imitate their faith.
Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.
But we ask you, brethren, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity.
Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also may be fearful of sinning.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God.
Nor are you to be called 'Teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.
Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you must be your servant.
And from those who were reputed to be something (what they were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality)those, I say, who were of repute added nothing to me;
he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, you are gods'?
