Nehemiah 7:2

Opposition To The Completed Wall

¹ Now it came to pass, when the wall was built and I had set up the doors and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed, ² then I put Hanani my brother, and Hananiah the commander of the fortress, in charge of Jerusalem, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many. ³ and I said unto them, Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot and even with the guards present, let them shut the doors and bar them. And appoint guards of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each one in his watch and each one to be in front of his house.
