But Abram said to the king of Sodom: I have sworn to Jehovah, God Most High, maker of heaven and earth:

Hear the voice of my prayer when I call to you for help, when I lift my hands [in prayer] toward your most holy place.

So I will bless (thank) you as long as I live. I will lift up my hands [in prayer] in your name.

Lift up your hands in holiness and bless Jehovah.

Let my prayer be accepted as sweet-smelling incense in your presence. Let the lifting up of my hands in prayer be accepted as an evening sacrifice.

Let us lift up our hearts along with our hands to God in heaven.

I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or argument.

Bowed

The man knelt down and worshiped Jehovah.

The people believed them. When they heard that Jehovah was concerned about the people of Israel and that he had seen their misery, they knelt, bowed low and worshiped.

You shall say: 'It is a Passover sacrifice to Jehovah who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He killed the Egyptians, but spared our homes. The people bowed low and worshiped.'

Then King Jehoshaphat bowed low. His face was touching the ground. All the people bowed with him and worshiped Jehovah.

The king and the leaders of the nation told the Levites to sing to Jehovah the songs of praise that were written by David and by Asaph the prophet. So everyone sang with great joy as they knelt and worshiped God.

With their faces

Fire came out from Jehovah's presence and consumed the burnt offering and the pieces of fat on the altar. As soon as all the people saw this, they shouted and bowed with their faces touching the ground.

Then he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed: My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.

All the angels stood around the throne, and the elders and the four living creatures. They fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God.
