If a man vow a vow unto the LORD or swear an oath and bind his soul, he shall not go back with his word: but shall fulfill all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

Then shalt thou make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt keep thy promises.

My praise is of thee in the great congregation; my vows will I perform in the sight of them that fear him.

Offer unto God thanksgiving, and pay thy vows unto the most highest.

I will pay my vows, now, in the presence of all his people;

Wherefore he promised with an oath, that he would give her whatsoever she would ask.

Woe be unto you, blind guides, for ye which say, 'Whosoever swear by the temple, it is nothing: but whosoever swear by the gold of the temple, he offendeth.'

And, 'Whosoever sweareth by the altar it is nothing: but whosoever sweareth by the offering that lieth on the altar offendeth.'

And they came to the chief priest and elders, and said, "We have bound ourselves with a vow, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

But follow not their minds: for there lie in wait for him of them, more than forty men, which have bound themselves with a vow, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him. And now are they ready, and look for thy promise."

I call God for a record unto my soul, that for to favor you withal, I came not any more unto Corinth.

as it is written, "He that dispersed abroad and hath given to the poor, his righteousness remaineth for ever."
