Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened ox where there is hatred.

Better is a dry crust of bread where there is quietness than a house full of feasting with strife.

A song of ascents, by David. Look! How good and how pleasant it is when brothers live together!

It is better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and easily-provoked woman.

Again he sent other slaves, saying, 'Tell those who have been invited, "Look! The feast I have prepared for you is ready. My oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet."'

Bring the fattened calf and kill it! Let us eat and celebrate,

Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort provided by love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any affection or mercy,

And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us. God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him.
