²⁶ The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to Jehovah. The words of the pure are pleasant words. ²⁷ He who profits illicitly troubles his own house,
But he who hates bribes will live.
²⁸ The heart of the righteous studies how to answer. The mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for unjust dishonest gain. Greed takes away the life of its owner.

Never pervert justice. Always be impartial. Never take a bribe, because bribes blind wise people and deny justice to those who are in the right.
