Proverbs 17:27

Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.

Where much babbling is, there must needs be offense; he that refraineth his lips is wisest of all.

A righteous man museth in his mind how to do good; but the mind of the ungodly imagineth how he may do harm.

Wherefore, dear brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.

For in many things we sin all. If a man sin not in word, the same is a perfect man and able to tame all the body.

A patient man is better than one strong; and he that can rule himself, is more worth than he that winneth a city.

A wise man's counsel that is followed in silence, is far above the crying of a captain among fools.

Yea, and the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace, of them that maintain peace.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue; the same keepeth his soul from troubles.
