Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

A wise son makes a father glad: but a foolish son is sorrow (depression) (grief) for his mother.

A foolish (stupid) son is a grief to his father and bitterness to his mother.

Listen to your father who gave you life. Do not despise your mother when she is old.

Blessed is the man reverencing God. He who hardens his heart will fall into trouble.

There is a generation that curses their father, and doe not bless their mother.

If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not listen or obey his father or his mother when they chastise him,

The younger one said to him, Father I want my share of the property. He divided his property between his two sons.

He who gathers in summer is a wise son. He who sleeps at the harvest is a son who causes shame.

A wise servant will rule over a son who causes shame and share the inheritance among the brothers.

He who obeys the law is a wise son. But he who is a companion of worthless men shames his father.
