Keep no company with winebibbers and riotous eaters of flesh;

Woe be unto them that are cunning men to sup out wine and expert to set up drunkenness.

Let us walk honestly as it were in the daylight: not in eating and drinking: neither in chambering and wantonness: neither in strife and envying:

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess: but be fulfilled with the spirit,

Whoso keepeth the law, is a child of understanding; but he that feedeth riotous men, shameth his father.

Woe unto them that rise up early to use themselves in drunkenness, and yet at night are more superfluous with wine.

and begin to smite his fellows: yea and to eat and to drink with the drunken:

Take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be overcome with surfeiting and drunkenness, and cares of this world: and that, that day come on you unawares.

Wine is a voluptuous thing, and drunkenness causes sedition; whoso delighteth therein, shall never be wise.

Where is woe? Where is sorrow? Where is strife? Where is brawling? Where are wounds without cause? Where be red eyes?

Give strong drink unto such as are condemned to death, and wine unto those that mourn:

But they to fulfill their lust and willfulness, slaughter oxen: they kill sheep, they eat costly meat, and drink wine. "Let us eat and drink, tomorrow we shall die."

And not long after, the younger son gathered all that he had together, and took his journey into a far country, and there he wasted his goods with riotous living.

"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple, and fine bysse, and fared deliciously every day.

For it is sufficient for us that we have spent the time that is past of the life, after the will of the gentiles; walking in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, in eating, drinking, and in abominable idolatry.
