For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life! In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble!

But Moses said to the LORD, "Then the Egyptians will hear of it, for you brought up this people in your might from among them,

I would have said, "I will cut them to pieces; I will wipe them from human memory,"

For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it and will surround us and cut off our name from the earth. And what will you do for your great name?"

"Though our iniquities testify against us, act, O LORD, for your name's sake; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.

But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord,make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate.

But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.

Your right hand, O LORD, glorious in power, your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy.

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."
