The Blessing Of The Lord

11 Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.

11 {A Song of degrees for Solomon.} Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

11 Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchman stays alert in vain.

11 Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor uselessly. Unless the LORD guards the city, its security forces keep watch uselessly.

11 Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.

22 It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.

22 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

22 In vain you get up early and stay up late, eating food earned by hard work; certainly He gives sleep to the one He loves.

22 It is useless to get up early and to stay up late, eating the food of exhausting labor truly he gives sleep to those he loves.

22 It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil -- "for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.

33 Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

33 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

33 Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord, children, a reward.

33 Children are a gift from the LORD; a productive womb, the LORD's reward.

33 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

44 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth.

44 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

44 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons born in one's youth.

44 As arrows in the hand of a warrior, so also are children born during one's youth.

44 As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth.

55 How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

55 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

55 Happy is the man who has filled his quiver with them. Such men will never be put to shame when they speak with [their] enemies at the city gate.

55 How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be ashamed as they confront their enemies at the city gate. A Song of Ascents

55 Happy, blessed, and fortunate is the man whose quiver is filled with them! They will not be put to shame when they speak with their adversaries [in gatherings] at the [city's] gate.
