A Thankful Heart

1 Davidic.I will give You thanks with all my heart;(A)I will sing Your praise before the heavenly beings.(a)(B)

1 {A Psalm of David.} I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

1 LORD, I thank you with all of my heart; because you heard the words that I spoke, I will sing your praise before the heavenly beings.

1 I will give You thanks with all my heart;I sing praises to You before the [pagan] gods.

2 I will bow down toward Your holy templeand give thanks to Your namefor Your constant love and truth.You have exalted Your nameand Your promise above everything else.(C)

2 I will bow down (C)toward Your holy templeAnd (D)give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your (a)truth;For You have (E)magnified Your (b)word (c)according to all Your name.

2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

2 I will bow down in worship toward your holy Temple and give thanks to your name for your gracious love and truth, for you have done great things to carry out your word consistent with your name.

2 I will bow down [in worship] toward Your holy templeAnd give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth;For You have magnified Your word together with Your name.

3 On the day I called, You answered me;You increased strength within me.(b)(D)

3 On the day I (F)called, You answered me;You made me bold with (G)strength in my soul.

3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

3 When I called out, you answered me; you strengthened me.

3 On the day I called, You answered me;And You made me bold and confident with [renewed] strength in my life.

4 All the kings on earth will give You thanks, Lord,when they hear what You have promised.(c)(E)

4 (H)All the kings of the earth will give thanks to You, O Lord,When they have heard the words of Your mouth.

4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.

4 LORD, all the kings of the earth will give you thanks, for they have heard what you have spoken.

4 All the kings of the land will give thanks and praise You, O Lord,When they have heard of the promises of Your mouth [which were fulfilled].

5 They will sing of the Lord’s ways,for the Lord’s glory is great.(F)

5 And they will (I)sing of the ways of the Lord,For (J)great is the glory of the Lord.

5 Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.

5 They will sing about the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD!

5 Yes, they will sing of the ways of the Lord [joyfully celebrating His wonderful acts],For great is the glory and majesty of the Lord.

6 Though the Lord is exalted,He takes note of the humble;but He knows the haughty from a distance.(G)

6 For (K)though the Lord is exalted,Yet He (L)regards the lowly,But the (M)haughty He knows from afar.

6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

6 Though the LORD is highly exalted, yet he pays attention to those who are lowly regarded, but he is aware of the arrogant from afar.

6 Though the Lord is exalted,He regards the lowly [and invites them into His fellowship];But the proud and haughty He knows from a distance.(A)

7 If I walk into the thick of danger,You will preserve my lifefrom the anger of my enemies.(H)You will extend Your hand;Your right hand will save me.(I)

7 Though I (N)walk in the midst of trouble, You will (d)(O)revive me;You will (P)stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies,And Your right hand will (Q)save me.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

7 Though I walk straight into trouble, you preserve my life, stretching out your hand to fight the vehemence of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies,And Your right hand will save me.(B)

8 The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.(J)Lord, Your love is eternal;do not abandon the work of Your hands.(K)

8 The Lord will (R)accomplish what concerns me;Your (S)lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting;(T)Do not forsake the (U)works of Your hands.

8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

8 The LORD will complete what his purpose is for me. LORD, your gracious love is eternal; do not abandon your personal work in me. To the Music Director: A Davidic Song

8 The Lord will accomplish that which concerns me;Your [unwavering] lovingkindness, O Lord, endures forever—Do not abandon the works of Your own hands.(C)
