A King's Prayer
1 By David. The Lord, my protector, deserves praise -- the one who trains my hands for battle, and my fingers for war,
1 {A Psalm of David.} Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:

1 Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for warfare,
2 who loves me and is my stronghold, my refuge and my deliverer, my shield and the one in whom I take shelter, who makes nations submit to me.
2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
2 My lovingkindness and (C)my fortress,My (D)stronghold and my deliverer,My (E)shield and He in whom I take refuge,Who (F)subdues (a)my people under me.
2 He is my faithful love and my fortress,my stronghold and my deliverer.He is my shield,(C) and I take refuge in Him;(D)He subdues my people(a) under me.(E)
2 he is my gracious love and my fortress, my strong tower and my deliverer, my shield and the one in whom I find refuge, who subdues nations under me.
3 O Lord, of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should be concerned about them?
3 LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
3 LORD, what are human beings, that you should care about them, or mortal man, that you should think about him?
7 Reach down from above! Grab me and rescue me from the surging water, from the power of foreigners,
7 Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
7 Stretch forth Your hand (O)from on high;Rescue me and (P)deliver me out of great waters,Out of the hand of (Q)aliens
7 Reach down(c) from heaven;(K)rescue me from deep water, and set me freefrom the grasp of foreigners(L)
7 Reach down your hand from your high place; rescue me and deliver me from mighty waters, from the control of foreigners.
9 O God, I will sing a new song to you! Accompanied by a ten-stringed instrument, I will sing praises to you,
9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
9 God, I will sing a new song to you. On a harp of ten strings I will play to you
11 Grab me and rescue me from the power of foreigners, who speak lies, and make false promises.
11 Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
11 Rescue me and deliver me out of the hand of (X)aliens,Whose mouth (Y)speaks deceitAnd whose (Z)right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
11 Set me free and rescue mefrom the grasp of foreigners(P)whose mouths speak lies,whose right hands are deceptive.(Q)
11 Rescue me and deliver me from the control of foreigners, whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand deceives.
12 Then our sons will be like plants, that quickly grow to full size. Our daughters will be like corner pillars, carved like those in a palace.
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
12 Let our sons in their youth be as (AA)grown-up plants,And our daughters as (AB)corner pillars (b)fashioned as for a palace;
12 Then our sons will be like plantsnurtured in their youth,our daughters, like corner pillarsthat are carved in the palace style.(R)
12 May our sons in their youth be like full-grown plants, and our daughters like pillars destined to decorate a palace.
13 Our storehouses will be full, providing all kinds of food. Our sheep will multiply by the thousands and fill our pastures.
13 That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
13 Let our (AC)garners be full, furnishing every kind of produce,And our flocks bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our (c)fields;
13 Our storehouses will be full,supplying all kinds of produce;(S)our flocks will increase by thousandsand tens of thousands in our open fields.(T)
13 May our granaries be filled, storing produce in abundance; may our sheep bring forth thousands, even tens of thousands in our fields.
14 Our cattle will be weighted down with produce. No one will break through our walls, no one will be taken captive, and there will be no terrified cries in our city squares.
14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
14 Let our (AD)cattle (d)bearWithout (e)(AE)mishap and without (f)(AF)loss,Let there be no (AG)outcry in our streets!
14 Our cattle will be well fed.(d)There will be no breach in the walls,no going into captivity,(e)and no cry of lament in our public squares.(U)
14 May our cattle grow heavy with young, with no damage or loss. May there be no cry of anguish in our streets!
15 How blessed are the people who experience these things! How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!
15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
