The King's Victory

1 For the music director; a psalm of David. O Lord, the king rejoices in the strength you give; he takes great delight in the deliverance you provide.

1 For the choir director. A Psalm of David.O Lord, in Your strength the king will (A)be glad,And in Your (a)salvation how greatly he will rejoice!

1 {To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

1 The king rejoices in your strength, LORD. How greatly he rejoices in your deliverance.

2 You grant him his heart's desire; you do not refuse his request. (Selah)

2 You have (B)given him his heart’s desire,And You have not withheld the request of his lips. (b)Selah.

2 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

2 You have granted him the desire of his heart, and have not withheld what his lips requested. Interlude

3 For you bring him rich blessings; you place a golden crown on his head.

3 For You (C)meet him with the blessings of good things;You set a (D)crown of fine gold on his head.

3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

3 For You meet him with rich blessings;You place a crown of pure gold on his head.(D)

3 You go before him with wonderful blessings, and put a crown of fine gold on his head.

4 He asked you to sustain his life, and you have granted him long life and an enduring dynasty.

4 He asked life of You,You (E)gave it to him,(F)Length of days forever and ever.

4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

4 He asked You for life, and You gave it to him—length of days forever and ever.(E)

4 He asked life from you, and you gave it to him a long life for ever and ever.

5 Your deliverance brings him great honor; you give him majestic splendor.

5 His (G)glory is great through Your (c)salvation,(H)Splendor and majesty You place upon him.

5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

5 His glory is great through Your victory;You confer majesty and splendor on him.(F)

5 His glory is great because of your deliverance, you have given him honor and majesty.

6 For you grant him lasting blessings; you give him great joy by allowing him into your presence.

6 For You make him (d)most (I)blessed forever;You make him joyful (J)with gladness in Your presence.

6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

6 You give him blessings forever;(G)You cheer him with joy in Your presence.(H)

6 Indeed, you have given him eternal blessings; you will make him glad with the joy of your presence.

7 For the king trusts in the Lord, and because of the sovereign Lord's faithfulness he is not upended.

7 For the king (K)trusts in the Lord,And through the lovingkindness of the Most High (L)he will not be shaken.

7 For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

7 For the king relies on the Lord;through the faithful love of the Most Highhe is not shaken.(I)

7 The king trusts in the LORD; because of the gracious love of the Most High, he will stand firm.

8 You prevail over all your enemies; your power is too great for those who hate you.

8 Your hand will (M)find out all your enemies;Your right hand will find out those who hate you.

8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

8 Your hand will capture all your enemies;your right hand will seize those who hate you.(J)

8 Your hand will find all your enemies, your right hand will find those who hate you.

9 You burn them up like a fiery furnace when you appear; the Lord angrily devours them; the fire consumes them.

9 You will make them (N)as a fiery oven in the time (e)of your anger;The Lord will (O)swallow them up in His wrath,And (P)fire will devour them.

9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

9 You will make them burnlike a fiery furnace when you appear;the Lord will engulf them in His wrath,and fire will devour them.(K)

9 When you appear, you will set them ablaze like a fire furnace. In his wrath, the LORD will consume them, and the fire will devour them.

10 You destroy their offspring from the earth, their descendants from among the human race.

10 Their (f)offspring You will destroy from the earth,And their (g)(Q)descendants from among the sons of men.

10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

10 You will wipe their descendants from the earthand their offspring from the human race.(L)

10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, even their offspring from the ranks of mankind.

11 Yes, they intend to do you harm; they dream up a scheme, but they do not succeed.

11 Though they (h)(R)intended evil against YouAnd (S)devised a plot,They will not succeed.

11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

11 Though they intend to harm(a) youand devise a wicked plan, they will not prevail.(M)

11 Though they plot evil against you and devise schemes, they will not succeed.

12 For you make them retreat when you shoot your arrows at them.

12 For You will (T)make them turn their back;You will (i)aim (U)with Your bowstrings at their faces.

12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

12 Instead, you will put them to flightwhen you aim your bow(b) at their faces.(N)

12 Indeed, you will make them retreat, when you aim your bow at their faces.

13 Rise up, O Lord, in strength! We will sing and praise your power!

13 Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength;We will (V)sing and praise Your power.

13 Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

13 Be exalted, Lord, in Your strength;we will sing and praise Your might.(O)
