Psalm 38:6

Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

I am worn out from groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.

My life is spent from sorrow, my years from groaning. My strength staggers under the weight of my guilt, and my bones waste away.

I will ask God, my rock: Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk around in mourning while the enemy oppresses me?

You are the God of my strength. Why have you rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

My eyes grow weak because of my suffering. All day long I call out to you, O Jehovah. I stretch out my hands to you in prayer.

I go about mourning without comfort. I stand up in the assembly and cry out for help.

I cry like a swallow (swift). I mourn like a dove. My eyes are red from looking to you, Jehovah. I am terribly abused. Please come and help me.
