Victory In Spite Of Betrayal

1 Blessed is he who considers a poor man. LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

1 {To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

1 For the choir director. A Davidic psalm.Happy is one who cares for the poor;the Lord will save him in a day of adversity.(A)

1 Blessed is the one who is considerate of the destitute; the LORD will deliver him when the times are evil.

2 LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive, and he shall be blessed upon the earth. And thou do not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

2 The Lord will (C)protect him and keep him alive,And he shall (c)be called (D)blessed upon the earth;And (E)do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.

2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

2 The Lord will keep him and preserve him;he will be blessed in the land.(B)You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies.(C)

2 The LORD will protect him and keep him alive; he will be blessed in the land; and he will not be handed over to the desires of his enemies.

3 LORD will support him upon the bed of languishing. Thou will make all his bed in his sickness.

3 The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed;In his illness, You (d)restore him to health.

3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

3 The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed;You will heal him on the bed where he lies.(D)

3 The LORD will uphold him even on his sickbed; you will transform his bed of illness into health.

4 I said, O LORD, have mercy upon me. Heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee.

4 As for me, I said, “O Lord, be gracious to me;(F)Heal my soul, for (G)I have sinned against You.”

4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

4 I said, “Lord, be gracious to me;heal me, for I have sinned against You.”(E)

4 As for me, I said, "LORD, be gracious to me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you!"

5 My enemies speak evil against me, [saying], When will he die, and his name perish?

5 My enemies (H)speak evil against me,“When will he die, and his name perish?”

5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

5 My enemies speak maliciously about me:“When will he die and be forgotten?”(F)

5 As for my enemies, with malice they said, "When will he die and memory of his name perish?"

6 And if he comes to see [me], he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.

6 And (e)when he comes to see me, he (I)speaks (f)falsehood;His heart gathers wickedness to itself;When he goes outside, he tells it.

6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

6 When one of them comes to visit, he speaks deceitfully;he stores up evil in his heart;he goes out and talks.(G)

6 The one who comes to visit me speaks lies; in his heart he thinks slanderous things about me and goes around spreading them.

7 All who hate me whisper together against me. Against me they devise my hurt.

7 All who hate me whisper together against me;Against me they (J)devise my hurt, saying,

7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

7 All who hate me whisper together about me;they plan to harm me.(H)

7 As for all who hate me, they whisper together against me; they desire to do me harm.

8 An evil disease, [they say], clings firm to him. And now that he lays he shall rise up no more.

8 “A wicked thing is poured out (g)upon him,That when he lies down, he will (K)not rise up again.”

8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

8 “Lethal poison has been poured into him,and he won’t rise again from where he lies!”(I)

8 They say, "Wickedness is entrenched in him. Once he is brought low, he will not rise again."

9 Yea, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

9 Even my (L)close friend in whom I trusted,Who ate my bread,Has lifted up his heel against me.

9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

9 Even my friend(a) in whom I trusted,one who ate my bread,has raised his heel against me.(J)

9 As for my best friend, the one in whom I trusted, the one who ate my bread, even he has insulted me!

10 But thou, O LORD, have mercy upon me, and raise me up that I may requite them.

10 But You, O Lord, be gracious to me and (M)raise me up,That I may repay them.

10 But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

10 But You, Lord, be gracious to me and raise me up;then I will repay them.(K)

10 But you, LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up so that I may pay them back!

11 By this I know that thou delight in me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.

11 By this I know that (N)You are pleased with me,Because (O)my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.

11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

11 By this I know that You delight in me:(L)my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.(M)

11 In this way I will know that you are pleased with me, and that my enemies will not shout in triumph over me.

12 And as for me, thou uphold me in my integrity, and set me before thy face forever.

12 As for me, (P)You uphold me in my integrity,And You set me (Q)in Your presence forever.

12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

12 You supported me because of my integrity(N)and set me in Your presence forever.(O)

12 As for me, you will maintain my just cause, and you will cause me to stand in your presence forever.

13 Blessed be LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
