{To the Chanter, upon Mahalath, an instruction of David} The foolish bodies say in their hearts, "Tush, there is no God." Corrupt are they, and become abominable in their wickednesses, there is not one that doeth good.

{To the Chanter, a Psalm of David} The fool hath said in his heart, "Tush, there is no God." They are corrupt, and become abominable in their doings; there is none that doeth good, no not one.

The ungodly is so proud and full of indignation, that he careth not for God: neither is God in all his thoughts.

{A Psalm and song of the sons of Korah, to the Chanter upon Mahalath, to give thanks, an Instruction of Heman the Ezrahite} O LORD God my Savior, I have cried day and night before thee;

And when the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was increased upon the earth, and that all the imagination and thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,

And the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and was full of mischief.

Defile not yourselves in any of these things, for with all these things are these nations defiled which I cast out before you:

Nay, thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for all abominations which the LORD hated did they unto their gods. For they burnt both their sons and their daughters with fire unto their gods.

And Jeroboam thought in his heart, "Now might the kingdom return to the house of David again.

And thereto there was a stews of male children in the land, and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

Who can make it clean, that cometh from an unclean thing? Nobody.

How much more then an abominable and vile man, which drinketh wickedness like water?

For he hath said in his heart, "Tush, I shall never be cast down; there shall no harm happen unto me."

He hath said in his heart, "Tush, God hath forgotten, he hath turned away his face, so that he will never see it."

Wherefore should the wicked blaspheme God, while he doth say in his heart, "Tush, thou God careth not for it?"

An unwise man will not know this, and a fool will not understand it -

Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but in all thy ways thou hast been more corrupt than they.

Neither hath Samaria done half of thy sins. Yea, thou hast exceeded them in wickedness: Insomuch that in comparison of all the abominations which thou hast done, thou hast made thy sisters good women.

But I say unto you, Whosoever is angry with his brother shall be in danger of judgment: whosoever sayeth unto his brother, 'Raca,' shall be in danger of a council: but whosoever sayeth, 'Thou fool,' shall be in danger of hell fire.

But God said unto him, 'Thou fool, this night will they fetch away thy soul again from thee. Then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?'

inasmuch as when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful: but waxed full of vanities in their imaginations. And their foolish hearts were blinded.

And as it seemed not good unto them to be a known of God, even so God delivered them up unto a lewd mind, that they should do those things which were not comely,

as it is written, "There is none righteous, no not one:

For it is shame even to name those things which are done of them in secret:

For it is sufficient for us that we have spent the time that is past of the life, after the will of the gentiles; walking in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, in eating, drinking, and in abominable idolatry.
