O God, You have rejected us. You have

broken us;

You have been angry; O, restore us.

So that He abandoned the dwelling place at Shiloh,
The tent which He had pitched among men,

Now the Philistines were fighting against Israel, and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines and fell slain on Mount Gilboa.

Behold, the Lord

lays the earth waste, devastates it, distorts its surface and scatters its inhabitants.

I bear

The women sang as they played, and said,
“Saul has slain his thousands,

And David his ten thousands.”

Please forgive the transgression of your maidservant; for the Lord will certainly make for my lord an enduring house, because my lord is fighting the battles of the Lord, and evil will not be found in you all your days.

Previously, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and in. And the Lord said to you, ‘You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be a ruler over Israel.’”

Thus says the Lord,
“In a favorable time I have answered You,
And in a day of salvation I have helped You;
And I will keep You and give You for a covenant of the people,
To

restore the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages;

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and

upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

“He raises the poor from the dust,

He lifts the needy from the ash heap

To make them sit with nobles,

And inherit a seat of honor;

For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,

And He set the world on them.
