Psalm 82

¹ ([Psalm of Asaph]) God stands in the congregation of the mighty. He pronounces judgment among the god-like ones: (John 10:35)

¹ God takes his stand in the divine assembly; among the divine beings he renders judgment:

³ Defend the weak and fatherless. Protect the rights of the oppressed and the poor.

³ Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

⁵ Wicked people do not know or understand anything. As they walk around in the dark, all the foundations of the earth shake.

⁵ They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

⁵ They ^(H)do not know nor do they understand;They ^(I)walk about in darkness;All the ^(J)foundations of the earth are shaken.

⁵ They do not know or understand;they wander in darkness.^(F)All the foundations of the earth are shaken.^(G)

⁵ They neither know nor understand; they walk about in the dark while all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

⁷ But you will certainly die like humans and fall like any prince.

⁷ But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

⁷ “Nevertheless ^(M)you will die like menAnd fall like any ^(N)one of the princes.”

⁷ However, you will die like menand fall like any other ruler.”^(J)

⁷ However, as all human beings do, you will die, and like other rulers, you will fall.'
