Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
While I was contemplating the horns, behold,
another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.
“Then the king will
do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods; and he will prosper until the indignation is finished, for that which is decreed will be done.
Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months.
Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there
she would be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
It was also given to him to
make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.
When they have finished their testimony,
the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them.
An evildoer listens to wicked lips;
liar pays attention to a destructive tongue.
Thus says the king, ‘Do not let Hezekiah
deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you;
But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.
