Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
For this reason
I have often been prevented from coming to you;
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
1 Thessalonians 2:18
For we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, more than once—and yet Satan hindered us.

night and day keep praying most earnestly that we may see your face, and may complete what is lacking in your faith?
At the same time also prepare me a
lodging, for I hope that through your prayers I will be given to you.
And I urge you all the more to do this,
so that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Now after these things were finished, Paul purposed in the
Spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”
By the will
taking leave of them and saying, “I will return to you again if God wills,” he set sail from Ephesus.
And since he would not be persuaded, we fell silent, remarking, “
The will of the Lord be done!”
1 Corinthians 4:19
will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant but their power.
Instead, you ought to say, “ If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”
