For the real Jew is not the man who is a Jew on the outside, and real circumcision is not outward physical circumcision.

For they are Israelites; to them belong the privileges of sonship, God's glorious presence, the special covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, the promises,

and do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our forefather? For I tell you, God can raise up descendants for Abraham even out of these stones.

I tell you, many will come from the east and from the west and take their seats at the feast with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, 'in the kingdom of heaven,

They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants and we never have been anybody's slaves. How can you say to us, 'You will be set free'?"

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I.

We ourselves are Jews by birth and not heathen sinners, and yet,

So remember that you were once heathen in a physical sense, called the uncircumcised by those who call themselves the circumcised -- though only in a physical sense, by human hands.

For we are the true circumcision, who by the Spirit of God worship Him, who take pride in Christ Jesus only, and do not rely on outward privileges,

"I know your pressing trouble and poverty, but still you are rich; I know how you are abused by those who claim to be Jews although they are not, but are only a synagogue of Satan.

"To the messenger of the church at Sardis write: 'The One who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars speaks as follows: "I know what you are doing; you have the reputation of being alive, but in reality you are dead.

Restest

You who boast about the law, do you by breaking it dishonor God?

For they are Israelites; to them belong the privileges of sonship, God's glorious presence, the special covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, the promises,

He said to him, "You have answered correctly. Continue to do this, and you will live."

Do not be thinking that I am going to accuse you to the Father. You have your accuser; it is Moses on whom you have set your hopes!

Did not Moses give you the law? And yet not one of you is keeping that law. If so, why are you trying to kill me?"

Then they jeered him, and said, "You are a disciple of His yourself, but we are disciples of Moses.

Makest

You are practicing what your real father does." They said to Him, "We are not illegitimate children; we have one Father, even God."
