for it is not the Jew in outward appearance, neither is it the external mark of circumcision:

and mark'd me with his seal, and given me the earnest of the spirit in my heart.

by whom you also have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: and having believed in him, ye were mark'd with the seal of the holy spirit, which was promised:

grieve not the holy spirit of God, by whom you are sealed against the day of deliverance:

and they were commanded not to hurt the fruits of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree; but those men who have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

Righteousness

Besides, the promise that he should possess the world, was not made to Abraham, or to his posterity in consideration of the law, but with regard to the righteousness by faith.

that divine justification, which by faith in Jesus Christ is extended to all, that believe; for there is no distinction:

What shall we hence conclude? that the Gentiles who sought not after justice, have obtained justice, even to that which is by faith:

but the justification which is by faith, speaks in this manner; "say not in thine heart, who shall ascend into heaven, in order to bring Christ down from above?

but as for us, our minds are possessed with the hopes of justification by faith.

and be his true disciple, not professing that justification, which is derived from the law, but that which is from the gospel,

'Twas by faith that Noah being divinely warned of unforeseen events, with a religious concern built an ark to the preservation of his family; whereby the world became inexcusable, and he obtained the reward of that righteousness which is by faith.
