For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
But now, if You will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out from Your
book which You have written!”
his corpse shall not hang all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him on the same day (for he who is hanged is accursed of God), so that you do not defile your land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance.
The city shall be
under the ban, it and all that is in it belongs to the Lord; only Rahab the harlot and all who are with her in the house shall live, because she hid the messengers whom we sent.
1 Samuel 14:24
Now the men of Israel were hard-pressed on that day, for Saul had
put the people under oath, saying, “Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and until I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.
But even if we, or
an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!
For as many as are of the works of
the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “ Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to perform them.”
I say then, God has not
rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
Laban said to him, “Surely you are
my bone and my flesh.” And he stayed with him a month.
how can I endure to see the calamity which will befall my people, and how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?”
But when he was approaching the age of forty,
it entered his mind to visit his brethren, the sons of Israel.
“Brethren, sons of Abraham’s family, and those among you who fear God, to us the message of
this salvation has been sent.
