The angel who spoke with me returned and woke me from sleep. 2 He asked: What do you see? I answered: I see a gold lamp stand, with a bowl on top and seven lamps. There are seven pipes to each of the lamps, which are on the top. 3 There are two olive trees beside it. One is on the right side of the bowl and the other is on the left side of the bowl.
I asked the angel who spoke to me: What are these, my lord?
The angel responded: Do you not know what these are? I said, No, my lord.
He answered: This is the word of Jehovah to Zerubbabel. Then Jehovah of Hosts said: 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit.' 7 Who are you, O Great Mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. He will bring the head stone with shouts of blessing.'
The word of Jehovah continued to come to me: 9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house. His hands will also finish it! You should know that Jehovah of Hosts has sent me to you. 10 For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven will rejoice, and will see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel. These are the eyes of Jehovah, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
I said to him: What are these two olive-trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side of it? 12 I spoke a second time: What are these two olive branches, that are beside the two golden spouts, that empty the golden oil from themselves?
He answered: You do not know what these are? I said, No, my lord.
Then he said: These are the two anointed ones who stand by Jehovah the God of the whole earth!
