וַיֹּ֨אמֶר
way·yō·mer
And said
הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ
ham·me·leḵ
דָּוִיד֙
dā·wîḏ
､ לְאָרְנָ֔ן
lə·’ā·rə·nān,
to Ornan ､
– לֹ֕א
lō
No –
כִּֽי־
kî-
but
קָנֹ֥ה
qā·nōh
אֶקְנֶ֖ה
’eq·neh
I will buy [it]
– בְּכֶ֣סֶף
bə·ḵe·sep̄
for the price –
מָלֵ֑א
mā·lê;
כִּ֠י
kî
לֹא־
lō-
not
אֶשָּׂ֤א
’eś·śā
I will take
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
what is
לְךָ֙
lə·ḵā
､ לַיהוָ֔ה
Yah·weh,
וְהַעֲל֥וֹת
wə·ha·‘ă·lō·wṯ
עוֹלָ֖ה
‘ō·w·lāh
. חִנָּֽם׃
ḥin·nām.
with [that which] costs [me] nothing .
