וְלִבְנֵ֥י

wə·liḇ·nê

And the sons

. אַהֲרֹ֖ן

’a·hă·rōn

of Aaron .

מַחְלְקוֹתָ֑ם

maḥ·lə·qō·w·ṯām;

[these are] the divisions

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

of the sons

– אַהֲרֹ֔ן

’a·hă·rōn,

of Aaron –

､ נָדָב֙

nā·ḏāḇ

[were] Nadab ､

､ וַאֲבִיה֔וּא

wa·’ă·ḇî·hū,

and Abihu ､

､ אֶלְעָזָ֖ר

’el·‘ā·zār

. וְאִיתָמָֽר׃

wə·’î·ṯā·mār.

וַיָּ֨מָת

way·yā·māṯ

And died

נָדָ֤ב

nā·ḏāḇ

וַאֲבִיהוּא֙

wa·’ă·ḇî·hū

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

､ אֲבִיהֶ֔ם

’ă·ḇî·hem,

their father ､

. וּבָנִ֖ים

ū·ḇā·nîm

לֹא־

lō-

הָי֣וּ

hā·yū

לָהֶ֑ם

lā·hem;

וַֽיְכַהֲנ֔וּ

way·ḵa·hă·nū,

therefore ministered as priests

אֶלְעָזָ֖ר

’el·‘ā·zār

. וְאִיתָמָֽר׃

wə·’î·ṯā·mār.

וַיֶּֽחָלְקֵ֣ם

way·ye·ḥā·lə·qêm

And divided them

דָּוִ֔יד

dā·wîḏ,

וְצָדוֹק֙

wə·ṣā·ḏō·wq

and with Zadok

מִן־

of

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

､ אֶלְעָזָ֔ר

’el·‘ā·zār,

of Eleazar ､

וַאֲחִימֶ֖לֶךְ

wa·’ă·ḥî·me·leḵ

the sons

､ אִיתָמָ֑ר

of Ithamar ､

לִפְקֻדָּתָ֖ם

וַיִּמָּצְא֣וּ

And there were found

לְרָאשֵׁ֧י

and among the sons

לְבֵ֥ית

. שְׁמוֹנָֽה׃

eight [heads of] .

Thus they were divided

､ בְּגוֹרָל֖וֹת

by lot ､
