וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

יְהוָ֜ה
Yah·weh
אֶל־
’el-
to
､ שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל
šə·mū·’êl,
Samuel ､
אַל־
’al-
not
תַּבֵּ֧ט
tab·bêṭ
do look
אֶל־
’el-
at
､ מַרְאֵ֛הוּ
mar·’ê·hū
וְאֶל־
wə·’el-
or at
גְּבֹ֥הַּ
gə·ḇō·ah
the height
– קוֹמָת֖וֹ
qō·w·mā·ṯōw
of his stature –
כִּ֣י
kî
מְאַסְתִּ֑יהוּ
mə·’as·tî·hū;
כִּ֣י ׀
kî
לֹ֗א
lō,
[Yahweh does] not [see]
אֲשֶׁ֤ר
’ă·šer
as
– יִרְאֶה֙
yir·’eh
sees –
הָאָדָ֔ם
hā·’ā·ḏām,
כִּ֤י
kî
הָֽאָדָם֙
hā·’ā·ḏām
יִרְאֶ֣ה
yir·’eh
､ לַעֵינַ֔יִם
la·‘ê·na·yim,
at the outward appearance ､
וַיהוָ֖ה
Yah·weh
but Yahweh
יִרְאֶ֥ה
yir·’eh
. לַלֵּבָֽב׃
lal·lê·ḇāḇ.
at the heart .
