And went out [to war] –

שָׂרֵ֣י

פְלִשְׁתִּ֑ים

of the Philistines

מִדֵּ֣י

mid·dê

､ צֵאתָ֗ם

they went out ､

שָׂכַ֤ל

[that] behaved more wisely

דָּוִד֙

מִכֹּל֙

עַבְדֵ֣י

‘aḇ·ḏê

– שָׁא֔וּל

šā·’ūl,

of Saul –

. וַיִּיקַ֥ר

way·yî·qar

so that became esteemed .

שְׁמ֖וֹ

šə·mōw

. מְאֹֽד׃

mə·’ōḏ.
