､ בְּמָלְכ֔וֹ

when he became king ､

וְשֵׁשׁ־

wə·šêš-

and six

עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה

‘eś·rêh

[and] ten

שָׁנָ֔ה

šā·nāh,

מָלַ֖ךְ

mā·laḵ

. בִּֽירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

bî·rū·šā·lim;

וְשֵׁ֣ם

wə·šêm

And name

אִמּ֔וֹ

’im·mōw,

､ יְרוּשָׁ֖ה

yə·rū·šāh

[was] Jerushah ､

בַּת־

baṯ-

. צָדֽוֹק׃

ṣā·ḏō·wq.

of Zadok .

וַיַּ֨עַשׂ

way·ya·‘aś

And he did [what was]

הַיָּשָׁ֜ר

hay·yā·šār

בְּעֵינֵ֣י

bə·‘ê·nê

in the sight

､ יְהוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

of Yahweh ､

כְּכֹ֤ל

according to all

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

– עָשָׂה֙

‘ā·śāh

עֻזִּיָּ֣הוּ

‘uz·zî·yā·hū

אָבִ֔יו

’ā·ḇîw,

and on the wall

הָעֹ֛פֶל

בָּנָ֖ה

bā·nāh

. לָרֹֽב׃

וְעָרִ֥ים

wə·‘ā·rîm

Moreover cities

בָּנָ֖ה

בְּהַר־

bə·har-

in the mountains

､ יְהוּדָ֑ה

yə·hū·ḏāh;

of Judah ､

וּבֶחֳרָשִׁ֣ים

ū·ḇe·ḥo·rā·šîm

and in the forests

בָּנָ֔ה

bā·nāh,

בִּֽירָנִיּ֖וֹת

bî·rā·nî·yō·wṯ

. וּמִגְדָּלִֽים׃

ū·miḡ·dā·lîm.

and towers .

וְ֠הוּא

wə·hū

And He

נִלְחַ֞ם

nil·ḥam

עִם־

‘im-

with

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

the king

בְּנֵי־

bə·nê-

of

עַמּוֹן֮

‘am·mō·wn

וַיֶּחֱזַ֣ק

way·ye·ḥĕ·zaq

עֲלֵיהֶם֒

‘ă·lê·hem

וַיִּתְּנוּ־

way·yit·tə·nū-

and gave

ל֨וֹ

lōw

בְנֵֽי־

ḇə·nê-

the sons

עַמּ֜וֹן

‘am·mō·wn

בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה

baš·šā·nāh

הַהִ֗יא

ha·hî,

מֵאָה֙

mê·’āh

כִּכַּר־

kik·kar-

､ כֶּ֔סֶף

ke·sep̄,

of silver ､

וַעֲשֶׂ֨רֶת

wa·‘ă·śe·reṯ

and ten

אֲלָפִ֤ים

’ă·lā·p̄îm

כֹּרִים֙

kō·rîm

､ חִטִּ֔ים

ḥiṭ·ṭîm,

of wheat ､

. וּשְׂעוֹרִ֖ים

ū·śə·‘ō·w·rîm

and of barley .

עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת

‘ă·śe·reṯ

אֲלָפִ֑ים

’ă·lā·p̄îm;

זֹ֗את

zōṯ,

הֵשִׁ֤יבוּ

hê·šî·ḇū

לוֹ֙

lōw

to him

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

עַמּ֔וֹן

‘am·mō·wn,

､ וּבַשָּׁנָ֥ה

and in years ､

הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית

haš·šê·nîṯ

. וְהַשְּׁלִשִֽׁית׃

wə·haš·šə·li·šîṯ.

and third .

､ וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֖ק

way·yiṯ·ḥaz·zêq

So became mighty ､

יוֹתָ֑ם

yō·w·ṯām;

כִּ֚י

kî

הֵכִ֣ין

hê·ḵîn

דְּרָכָ֔יו

də·rā·ḵāw,

לִפְנֵ֖י

lip̄·nê

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. אֱלֹהָֽיו׃

’ĕ·lō·hāw.

וְיֶתֶר֙

wə·ye·ṯer

And the rest

דִּבְרֵ֣י

diḇ·rê

of the acts

､ יוֹתָ֔ם

yō·w·ṯām,

of Jotham ､

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

and all

､ מִלְחֲמֹתָ֖יו

mil·ḥă·mō·ṯāw

､ וּדְרָכָ֑יו

ū·ḏə·rā·ḵāw;

and his ways ､

הִנָּ֣ם

hin·nām

כְּתוּבִ֔ים

kə·ṯū·ḇîm,

they [are] written

עַל־

‘al-

in

סֵ֥פֶר

sê·p̄er

the book

מַלְכֵֽי־

mal·ḵê-

of the kings

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

. וִיהוּדָֽה׃

wî·hū·ḏāh.

and Judah .

הָיָ֣ה

He was

､ בְמָלְכ֑וֹ

when he became king ､

וְשֵׁשׁ־

wə·šêš-

and six

עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה

‘eś·rêh

[and] ten

שָׁנָ֔ה

šā·nāh,

מָלַ֖ךְ

mā·laḵ

. בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

bî·rū·šā·lim.

וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב

way·yiš·kaḇ

יוֹתָם֙

yō·w·ṯām

עִם־

‘im-

with

､ אֲבֹתָ֔יו

’ă·ḇō·ṯāw,

his fathers ､

וַיִּקְבְּר֥וּ

way·yiq·bə·rū

and they buried

אֹת֖וֹ

’ō·ṯōw

בְּעִ֣יר

bə·‘îr

in the City

– דָּוִ֑יד

dā·wîḏ;

of David –

וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ

way·yim·lōḵ

אָחָ֥ז

’ā·ḥāz

בְּנ֖וֹ

bə·nōw

. תַּחְתָּֽיו׃
