on the next day
וַיִּקַּ֤ח
way·yiq·qaḥ
、 הַמַּכְבֵּר֙
ham·maḵ·bêr
a thick cloth
וַיִּטְבֹּ֣ל
way·yiṭ·bōl
and dipped [it]
、 בַּמַּ֔יִם
bam·ma·yim,
in water
וַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂ
way·yip̄·rōś
and spread [it]
עַל־
‘al-
、 פָּנָ֖יו
pā·nāw
his face
. וַיָּמֹ֑ת
way·yā·mōṯ;
so that he died .
וַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְ
way·yim·lōḵ
חֲזָהאֵ֖ל
ḥă·zā·h·’êl
. תַּחְתָּֽיו׃
taḥ·tāw.
in his place .
