אֲדֹנָ֣י

the Lord
יְהוִ֔ה
Yah·weh,
､ וְהִנֵּה֙
wə·hin·nêh
and behold ､
יוֹצֵ֣ר
yō·w·ṣêr
גֹּבַ֔י
gō·ḇay,
בִּתְחִלַּ֖ת
biṯ·ḥil·laṯ
at the beginning
עֲל֣וֹת
‘ă·lō·wṯ
of the crop
– הַלָּ֑קֶשׁ
hal·lā·qeš;
late –
､ וְהִ֨נֵּה־
wə·hin·nêh-
and indeed ､
לֶ֔קֶשׁ
le·qeš,
[it was] the late crop
אַחַ֖ר
’a·ḥar
גִּזֵּ֥י
giz·zê
. הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
ham·me·leḵ.
of the king .

､ וְהָיָ֗ה
wə·hā·yāh,
And so it was ､
אִם־
’im-
כִּלָּה֙
kil·lāh
לֶֽאֱכוֹל֙
le·’ĕ·ḵō·wl
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
עֵ֣שֶׂב
‘ê·śeḇ
the grass
､ הָאָ֔רֶץ
hā·’ā·reṣ,
of the land ､
､ וָאֹמַ֗ר
wā·’ō·mar,
that I said ､
אֲדֹנָ֤י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
יְהוִה֙
Yah·weh
､ סְֽלַֽח־
sə·laḥ-
– נָ֔א
nā,
I pray –
מִ֥י
mî
[By] whom
؟ יָק֖וּם
yā·qūm
יַֽעֲקֹ֑ב
ya·‘ă·qōḇ;
כִּ֥י
kî
קָטֹ֖ן
qā·ṭōn
. הֽוּא׃

he [is] .

עַל־

this –

by fire ､
אֲדֹנָ֣י

the Lord

Yah·weh;
וַתֹּ֙אכַל֙
wat·tō·ḵal
and it consumed
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
､ תְּה֣וֹם
tə·hō·wm
the deep ､
רַבָּ֔ה
rab·bāh,
וְאָכְלָ֖ה
wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
. הַחֵֽלֶק׃
ha·ḥê·leq.
the territory .

וָאֹמַ֗ר
wā·’ō·mar,
And I said
אֲדֹנָ֤י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
､ יְהוִה֙
Yah·weh
GOD ､
､ חֲדַל־
ḥă·ḏal-
cease ､
– נָ֔א
nā,
I pray –
מִ֥י
mî
[By] whom
؟ יָק֖וּם
yā·qūm
יַעֲקֹ֑ב
ya·‘ă·qōḇ;
כִּ֥י
kî
קָטֹ֖ן
qā·ṭōn
. הֽוּא׃

חוֹמַ֣ת

with a plumb line ､
וּבְיָד֖וֹ
ū·ḇə·yā·ḏōw
and in His hand
. אֲנָֽךְ׃
’ă·nāḵ.
with a plumb line .

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר
way·yō·mer
And said
יְהוָ֜ה
Yah·weh
אֵלַ֗י
’ê·lay,
to me
מָֽה־
māh-
؟ אַתָּ֤ה
’at·tāh
you ؟
רֹאֶה֙
rō·’eh
do see
､ עָמ֔וֹס
‘ā·mō·ws,
Amos ､
､ וָאֹמַ֖ר
wā·’ō·mar
and I said ､
. אֲנָ֑ךְ
’ă·nāḵ;
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר
way·yō·mer
And said
､ אֲדֹנָ֗י
’ă·ḏō·nāy,
the Lord ､
הִנְנִ֨י
hin·nî
שָׂ֤ם
śām
אֲנָךְ֙
’ă·nāḵ
בְּקֶ֙רֶב֙
bə·qe·reḇ
in the midst
עַמִּ֣י
‘am·mî
of My people
. יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
yiś·rā·’êl,
לֹֽא־
lō-
Not
אוֹסִ֥יף
’ō·w·sîp̄
I will
– ע֖וֹד
‘ō·wḏ
עֲב֥וֹר
‘ă·ḇō·wr
. לֽוֹ׃
lōw.
by them .

､ וְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙
wə·nā·šam·mū
And shall be desolate ､
בָּמ֣וֹת
bā·mō·wṯ
יִשְׂחָ֔ק
yiś·ḥāq,
וּמִקְדְּשֵׁ֥י
ū·miq·də·šê
and the sanctuaries
יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל
yiś·rā·’êl
– יֶחֱרָ֑בוּ
ye·ḥĕ·rā·ḇū;
וְקַמְתִּ֛י
wə·qam·tî
and I will rise
עַל־
‘al-
בֵּ֥ית
bêṯ
the house
יָרָבְעָ֖ם
yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām
. בֶּחָֽרֶב׃
be·ḥā·reḇ.
with the sword .

by the sword ､

and Israel

Bethel ､

לְהִנָּבֵ֑א
lə·hin·nā·ḇê;
כִּ֤י
kî
､ מִקְדַּשׁ־
miq·daš-
the sanctuary ､
מֶ֙לֶךְ֙
me·leḵ
of king
ה֔וּא
hū,
it [is]
. וּבֵ֥ית
ū·ḇêṯ
and the residence .
מַמְלָכָ֖ה
mam·lā·ḵāh
. הֽוּא׃

and took me

､ הַצֹּ֑אן
haṣ·ṣōn;
the flock ､
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

and said
אֵלַי֙

to me
יְהוָ֔ה

הִנָּבֵ֖א
