אֲדֹנָ֜י

the Lord

נִצָּ֣ב

niṣ·ṣāḇ

עַֽל־

‘al-

by

､ הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ

ham·miz·bê·aḥ,

the altar ､

､ וַיֹּאמֶר֩

way·yō·mer

and He said ､

הַ֨ךְ

haḵ

הַכַּפְתּ֜וֹר

hak·kap̄·tō·wr

､ וְיִרְעֲשׁ֣וּ

wə·yir·‘ă·šū

that may shake ､

הַסִּפִּ֗ים

has·sip·pîm,

וּבְצַ֙עַם֙

ū·ḇə·ṣa·‘am

､ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ

bə·rōš

on the heads ､

כֻּלָּ֔ם

kul·lām,

וְאַחֲרִיתָ֖ם

wə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯām

and the last of them

– בַּחֶ֣רֶב

ba·ḥe·reḇ

with the sword –

אֶהֱרֹ֑ג

’e·hĕ·rōḡ;

I will slay

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

יָנ֤וּס

yā·nūs

לָהֶם֙

lā·hem

､ נָ֔ס

nās,

shall get away ､

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

and not

יִמָּלֵ֥ט

yim·mā·lêṭ

shall be delivered

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

. פָּלִֽיט׃

pā·lîṭ.

he who escapes .

אִם־

’im-

יַחְתְּר֣וּ

yaḥ·tə·rū

､ בִשְׁא֔וֹל

ḇiš·’ō·wl,

מִשָּׁ֖ם

miš·šām

יָדִ֣י

yā·ḏî

תִקָּחֵ֑ם

ṯiq·qā·ḥêm;

shall take them

וְאִֽם־

wə·’im-

יַעֲלוּ֙

ya·‘ă·lū

､ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

haš·šā·ma·yim,

to heaven ､

מִשָּׁ֖ם

miš·šām

– אוֹרִידֵֽם׃

’ō·w·rî·ḏêm.

I will bring them down –

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

יֵחָֽבְאוּ֙

yê·ḥā·ḇə·’ū

they hide themselves

בְּרֹ֣אשׁ

bə·rōš

on top

､ הַכַּרְמֶ֔ל

hak·kar·mel,

of Carmel ､

– מִשָּׁ֥ם

miš·šām

אֲחַפֵּ֖שׂ

’ă·ḥap·pêś

I will search

וּלְקַחְתִּ֑ים

ū·lə·qaḥ·tîm;

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

יִסָּ֨תְר֜וּ

yis·sā·ṯə·rū

מִנֶּ֤גֶד

min·ne·ḡeḏ

עֵינַי֙

‘ê·nay

בְּקַרְקַ֣ע

bə·qar·qa‘

at the bottom of

､ הַיָּ֔ם

hay·yām,

the sea ､

מִשָּׁ֛ם

miš·šām

אֲצַוֶּ֥ה

’ă·ṣaw·weh

I will command

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ הַנָּחָ֖שׁ

han·nā·ḥāš

the serpent ､

. וּנְשָׁכָֽם׃

ū·nə·šā·ḵām.

and it shall bite them .

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

יֵלְכ֤וּ

yê·lə·ḵū

בַשְּׁבִי֙

ḇaš·šə·ḇî

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

､ אֹֽיבֵיהֶ֔ם‪‬

’·ḇê·hem,

their enemies ､

מִשָּׁ֛ם

miš·šām

אֲצַוֶּ֥ה

’ă·ṣaw·weh

I will command

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ הַחֶ֖רֶב

ha·ḥe·reḇ

the sword ､

וַהֲרָגָ֑תַם

wa·hă·rā·ḡā·ṯam;

and it shall slay them

וְשַׂמְתִּ֨י

wə·śam·tî

and I will set

עֵינִ֧י

‘ê·nî

עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם

‘ă·lê·hem

､ לְרָעָ֖ה

lə·rā·‘āh

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

. לְטוֹבָֽה׃

lə·ṭō·w·ḇāh.

וַאדֹנָ֨י

wa·ḏō·nāy

And the Lord

יְהוִ֜ה

Yah·weh

הַצְּבָא֗וֹת

haṣ·ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

הַנּוֹגֵ֤עַ

han·nō·w·ḡê·a‘

､ בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙

bā·’ā·reṣ

the earth ､

､ וַתָּמ֔וֹג

wat·tā·mō·wḡ,

and it melts ､

､ וְאָבְל֖וּ

wə·’ā·ḇə·lū

and mourn ､

כָּל־

kāl-

י֣וֹשְׁבֵי

yō·wō·šə·ḇê

בָ֑הּ

ḇāh;

וְעָלְתָ֤ה

wə·‘ā·lə·ṯāh

and shall swell

– כַיְאֹר֙

ḵay·’ōr

like the Nile –

כֻּלָּ֔הּ

kul·lāh,

all of it

､ וְשָׁקְעָ֖ה

wə·šā·qə·‘āh

and subside ､

כִּיאֹ֥ר

kî·’ōr

. מִצְרָֽיִם‪‬‪‬

miṣ·rā·yim.

of Egypt .

הַבּוֹנֶ֤ה

hab·bō·w·neh

､ בַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙

ḇaš·šā·ma·yim

in the sky ､

[מעלותו]

ma·‘ă·lō·w·ṯōw

-

(מַעֲלוֹתָ֔יו)

ma·‘ă·lō·w·ṯāw,

וַאֲגֻדָּת֖וֹ

wa·’ă·ḡud·dā·ṯōw

עַל־

‘al-

in

– אֶ֣רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the earth –

יְסָדָ֑הּ

yə·sā·ḏāh;

הַקֹּרֵ֣א

haq·qō·rê

לְמֵֽי־

lə·mê-

､ הַיָּ֗ם

hay·yām,

of the sea ､

וַֽיִּשְׁפְּכֵ֛ם

way·yiš·pə·ḵêm

and pours them out

עַל־

‘al-

on

פְּנֵ֥י

pə·nê

the face

､ הָאָ֖רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

of the earth ､

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. שְׁמֽוֹ׃

šə·mōw.

הֲל֣וֹא

hă·lō·w

[Are] not

כִבְנֵי֩

ḵiḇ·nê

כֻשִׁיִּ֨ים

ḵu·šî·yîm

of the Ethiopians

אַתֶּ֥ם

’at·tem

לִ֛י

lî

to Me

בְּנֵ֥י

bə·nê

؟ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

of Israel ؟

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

הֲל֣וֹא

hă·lō·w

Did not

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

הֶעֱלֵ֙יתִי֙

he·‘ĕ·lê·ṯî

I bring up

מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

mê·’e·reṣ

؟ מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

of Egypt ؟

וּפְלִשְׁתִּיִּ֥ים

ū·p̄ə·liš·tî·yîm

and the Philistines

מִכַּפְתּ֖וֹר

mik·kap̄·tō·wr

וַאֲרָ֥ם

wa·’ă·rām

and the Syria

. מִקִּֽיר׃

miq·qîr.

､ הִנֵּ֞ה

hin·nêh

עֵינֵ֣י ׀

‘ê·nê

the eyes

אֲדֹנָ֣י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

of the Lord

יְהוִ֗ה

Yah·weh

､ בַּמַּמְלָכָה֙

bam·mam·lā·ḵāh

[are] on kingdom ､

הַֽחַטָּאָ֔ה

ha·ḥaṭ·ṭā·’āh,

וְהִשְׁמַדְתִּ֣י

wə·hiš·maḏ·tî

and I will destroy

אֹתָ֔הּ

’ō·ṯāh,

it

מֵעַ֖ל

mê·‘al

פְּנֵ֣י

pə·nê

the face

– הָאֲדָמָ֑ה

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh;

of the earth –

אֶ֗פֶס

’e·p̄es,

כִּ֠י

kî

לֹ֣א

lō

not

הַשְׁמֵ֥יד

haš·mêḏ

אַשְׁמִ֛יד

’aš·mîḏ

I will destroy

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בֵּ֥ית

bêṯ

､ יַעֲקֹ֖ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ

of Jacob ､

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

､ כִּֽי־

kî-

For ､

､ הִנֵּ֤ה

hin·nêh

אָֽנֹכִי֙

’ā·nō·ḵî

I

､ מְצַוֶּ֔ה

mə·ṣaw·weh,

will command ､

וַהֲנִע֥וֹתִי

wa·hă·ni·‘ō·w·ṯî

and will sift

בְכָֽל־

ḇə·ḵāl-

､ הַגּוֹיִ֖ם

hag·gō·w·yim

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

yiś·rā·’êl;

כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר

ka·’ă·šer

as

יִנּ֙וֹעַ֙

yin·nō·w·a‘

[grain] is sifted

､ בַּכְּבָרָ֔ה

bak·kə·ḇā·rāh,

in a sieve ､

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

and yet not

יִפּ֥וֹל

yip·pō·wl

צְר֖וֹר

ṣə·rō·wr

the smallest [grain]

. אָֽרֶץ׃

’ā·reṣ.

to the ground .

､ בַּחֶ֣רֶב

ba·ḥe·reḇ

By the sword ､

יָמ֔וּתוּ

yā·mū·ṯū,

כֹּ֖ל

kōl

חַטָּאֵ֣י

ḥaṭ·ṭā·’ê

עַמִּ֑י

‘am·mî;

of My people

､ הָאֹמְרִ֗ים

hā·’ō·mə·rîm,

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

תַגִּ֧ישׁ

ṯag·gîš

וְתַקְדִּ֛ים

wə·ṯaq·dîm

בַּעֲדֵ֖ינוּ

ba·‘ă·ḏê·nū

us

. הָרָעָֽה׃

hā·rā·‘āh.

The Restoration of Israel

בַּיּ֣וֹם

bay·yō·wm

On day

הַה֔וּא

ha·hū,

אָקִ֛ים

’ā·qîm

I will raise up

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

סֻכַּ֥ת

suk·kaṯ

דָּוִ֖יד

dā·wîḏ

､ הַנֹּפֶ֑לֶת

han·nō·p̄e·leṯ;

which has fallen down ､

וְגָדַרְתִּ֣י

wə·ḡā·ḏar·tî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

פִּרְצֵיהֶ֗ן

pir·ṣê·hen,

､ וַהֲרִֽסֹתָיו֙

wa·hă·ri·sō·ṯāw

and its ruins ､

אָקִ֔ים

’ā·qîm,

I will raise up

וּבְנִיתִ֖יהָ

ū·ḇə·nî·ṯî·hā

and rebuild it

כִּימֵ֥י

kî·mê

as in the days

– עוֹלָֽם׃

‘ō·w·lām.

of old –

לְמַ֨עַן

lə·ma·‘an

יִֽירְשׁ֜וּ

yî·rə·šū

they may possess

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

שְׁאֵרִ֤ית

šə·’ê·rîṯ

､ אֱדוֹם֙

’ĕ·ḏō·wm

of Edom ､

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

and all

､ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם

hag·gō·w·yim,

the Gentiles ､

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

נִקְרָ֥א

niq·rā

､ שְׁמִ֖י

šə·mî

by My name ､

עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם

‘ă·lê·hem;

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

עֹ֥שֶׂה

‘ō·śeh

. זֹּֽאת׃

zōṯ.

､ הִנֵּ֨ה

hin·nêh

יָמִ֤ים

yā·mîm

the days

､ בָּאִים֙

bā·’îm

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

וְנִגַּ֤שׁ

wə·nig·gaš

and when shall overtake

חוֹרֵשׁ֙

ḥō·w·rêš

､ בַּקֹּצֵ֔ר

baq·qō·ṣêr,

the reaper ､

וְדֹרֵ֥ךְ

wə·ḏō·rêḵ

and the treader

עֲנָבִ֖ים

‘ă·nā·ḇîm

בְּמֹשֵׁ֣ךְ

bə·mō·šêḵ

– הַזָּ֑רַע

haz·zā·ra‘;

seed –

וְהִטִּ֤יפוּ

wə·hiṭ·ṭî·p̄ū

הֶֽהָרִים֙

he·hā·rîm

､ עָסִ֔יס

‘ā·sîs,

with sweet wine ､

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

and all

הַגְּבָע֖וֹת

hag·gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ

. תִּתְמוֹגַֽגְנָה׃

tiṯ·mō·w·ḡaḡ·nāh.

shall flow [with it] .

וְשַׁבְתִּי֮

wə·šaḇ·tî

And I will bring back

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

שְׁב֣וּת

šə·ḇūṯ

עַמִּ֣י

‘am·mî

of My people

､ יִשְׂרָאֵל֒

yiś·rā·’êl

וּבָנ֞וּ

ū·ḇā·nū

and they shall build

､ עָרִ֤ים

‘ā·rîm

the cities ､

נְשַׁמּוֹת֙

nə·šam·mō·wṯ

וְיָשָׁ֔בוּ

wə·yā·šā·ḇū,

and inhabit [them]

וְנָטְע֣וּ

wə·nā·ṭə·‘ū

and they shall plant

､ כְרָמִ֔ים

ḵə·rā·mîm,

וְשָׁת֖וּ

wə·šā·ṯū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

יֵינָ֑ם

yê·nām;

וְעָשׂ֣וּ

wə·‘ā·śū

and they shall make

､ גַנּ֔וֹת

ḡan·nō·wṯ,

וְאָכְל֖וּ

wə·’ā·ḵə·lū

and eat

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

. פְּרִיהֶֽם׃

pə·rî·hem.

fruit from them .

וּנְטַעְתִּ֖ים

ū·nə·ṭa‘·tîm

And I will plant them

עַל־

‘al-

in

､ אַדְמָתָ֑ם

’aḏ·mā·ṯām;

וְלֹ֨א

wə·lō

and no

יִנָּתְשׁ֜וּ

yin·nā·ṯə·šū

shall they be pulled up

ע֗וֹד

‘ō·wḏ,

מֵעַ֤ל

mê·‘al

אַדְמָתָם֙

’aḏ·mā·ṯām

the land

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

נָתַ֣תִּי

nā·ṯat·tî

לָהֶ֔ם

lā·hem,

אָמַ֖ר

’ā·mar

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā.
