Nebuchadnezzar's Dream

וּבִשְׁנַ֣ת

ū·ḇiš·naṯ

And in the year

שְׁתַּ֗יִם

šə·ta·yim,

לְמַלְכוּת֙

lə·mal·ḵūṯ

נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּ֔ר

nə·ḇu·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar,

of Nebuchadnezzar

חָלַ֥ם

ḥā·lam

נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּ֖ר

nə·ḇu·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar

､ חֲלֹמ֑וֹת

ḥă·lō·mō·wṯ;

､ וַתִּתְפָּ֣עֶם

wat·tiṯ·pā·‘em

and was [so] troubled ､

רוּח֔וֹ

rū·ḥōw,

וּשְׁנָת֖וֹ

ū·šə·nā·ṯōw

נִהְיְתָ֥ה

nih·yə·ṯāh

. עָלָֽיו׃

‘ā·lāw.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And gave the command

הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ

ham·me·leḵ

the king

לִקְרֹ֨א

liq·rō

､ לַֽחַרְטֻמִּ֜ים

la·ḥar·ṭum·mîm

the magicians ､

､ וְלָֽאַשָּׁפִ֗ים

wə·lā·’aš·šā·p̄îm,

and the astrologers ､

､ וְלַֽמְכַשְּׁפִים֙

wə·lam·ḵaš·šə·p̄îm

and the sorcerers ､

､ וְלַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים

wə·lak·kaś·dîm,

and the Chaldeans ､

לְהַגִּ֥יד

lə·hag·gîḏ

לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ

lam·me·leḵ

the king

. חֲלֹמֹתָ֑יו

ḥă·lō·mō·ṯāw;

וַיָּבֹ֕אוּ

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

וַיַּֽעַמְד֖וּ

way·ya·‘am·ḏū

לִפְנֵ֥י

lip̄·nê

. הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

לָהֶ֛ם

a dream ､

חָלָ֑מְתִּי

וַתִּפָּ֣עֶם

and is anxious

and its interpretation

､ הַדָּמִין֙

had·dā·mîn

in pieces ､

תִּתְעַבְד֔וּן

tiṯ·‘aḇ·ḏūn,

you shall be cut

וּבָתֵּיכ֖וֹן

ū·ḇāt·tê·ḵō·wn

and your houses

נְוָלִ֥י

nə·wā·lî

. יִתְּשָׂמֽוּן׃

shall be made .

וְהֵ֨ן

they began killing –

וּבְע֛וֹ

and they sought

and his companions

. לְהִתְקְטָלָֽה׃
