in transgressing

､ בְּרִיתֽוֹ׃

bə·rî·ṯōw.

His covenant ､

וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ

way·yê·leḵ,

and who has gone

וַֽיַּעֲבֹד֙

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōḏ

､ אֱלֹהִ֣ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

gods ､

אֲחֵרִ֔ים

’ă·ḥê·rîm,

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ

way·yiš·ta·ḥū

לָהֶ֑ם

lā·hem;

､ וְלַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ ׀

wə·laš·še·meš

and either the sun ､

א֣וֹ

’ōw

or

､ לַיָּרֵ֗חַ

lay·yā·rê·aḥ,

moon ､

א֛וֹ

’ōw

or

לְכָל־

lə·ḵāl

צְבָ֥א

､ הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

of the heaven ､

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

לֹא־

– צִוִּֽיתִי׃

ṣiw·wî·ṯî.

I have commanded –

וְהֻֽגַּד־

wə·hug·gaḏ-

and it is told

לְךָ֖

lə·ḵā

וְשָׁמָ֑עְתָּ

wə·šā·mā·‘ə·tā;

and you hear [of it]

וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֣

wə·ḏā·raš·tā

then you shall inquire

､ הֵיטֵ֔ב

hê·ṭêḇ,

､ וְהִנֵּ֤ה

wə·hin·nêh

and if [it is] indeed ､

､ אֱמֶת֙

’ĕ·meṯ

TRUE ､

､ נָכ֣וֹן

nā·ḵō·wn

[and] certain ､

הַדָּבָ֔ר

had·dā·ḇār,

נֶעֶשְׂתָ֛ה

ne·‘eś·ṯāh

that has been committed

הַתּוֹעֵבָ֥ה

hat·tō·w·‘ê·ḇāh

הַזֹּ֖את

haz·zōṯ

､ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

bə·yiś·rā·’êl.

in Israel ､

וְהֽוֹצֵאתָ֣

wə·hō·w·ṣê·ṯā

then you shall bring out

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָאִ֣ישׁ

hā·’îš

הַה֡וּא

ha·hū

אוֹ֩

’ōw

or

אֶת־

and shall stone

､ בָּאֲבָנִ֖ים

with stones ､

. וָמֵֽתוּ׃

wā·mê·ṯū.

and to death .

shall be put to death

– הַמֵּ֑ת

Whoever is deserving of death –

he shall be put to death .

the people .

בָּאַחֲרֹנָ֑ה

bā·’a·ḥă·rō·nāh;

וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥

so you shall put away

הָרָ֖ע

the evil

one punishment or

then you shall arise

וְעָלִ֔יתָ

and go up

הַמָּק֔וֹם

ham·mā·qō·wm,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

– יִבְחַ֛ר

yiḇ·ḥar

יְהוָ֥ה

אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

. בּֽוֹ׃

וּבָאתָ֗

And you shall come

אֶל־

to

הַכֹּהֲנִים֙

hak·kō·hă·nîm

､ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם

hal·wî·yim,

the Levites ､

וְאֶל־

wə·’el-

and to

הַשֹּׁפֵ֔ט

haš·šō·p̄êṭ,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

יִהְיֶ֖ה

yih·yeh

､ בַּיָּמִ֣ים

bay·yā·mîm

in days ､

הָהֵ֑ם

hā·hêm;

– וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֙

wə·ḏā·raš·tā

and inquire [of them] –

וְהִגִּ֣ידוּ

wə·hig·gî·ḏū

and they shall pronounce

לְךָ֔

lə·ḵā,

אֵ֖ת

’êṯ

-

דְּבַ֥ר

də·ḇar

. הַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃

ham·miš·pāṭ.

of the judgment .

וְעָשִׂ֗יתָ

wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā,

And You shall do

עַל־

‘al-

פִּ֤י

to the terms

､ הַדָּבָר֙

had·dā·ḇār

the sentence ､

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

יַגִּ֣ידֽוּ

yag·gî·ḏū

לְךָ֔

lə·ḵā,

מִן־

min-

in

הַמָּק֣וֹם

ham·mā·qō·wm

הַה֔וּא

ha·hū,

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

’ă·šer

יִבְחַ֣ר

yiḇ·ḥar

יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֣

wə·šā·mar·tā

and you shall be careful

לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת

la·‘ă·śō·wṯ,

to do

כְּכֹ֖ל

kə·ḵōl

according to all

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

. יוֹרֽוּךָ׃

yō·w·rū·ḵā.

they order you .

עַל־

‘al-

פִּ֨י

הַתּוֹרָ֜ה

hat·tō·w·rāh

of the law

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

יוֹר֗וּךָ

yō·w·rū·ḵā,

they instruct you

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and according to

הַמִּשְׁפָּ֛ט

ham·miš·pāṭ

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

יֹאמְר֥וּ

yō·mə·rū

לְךָ֖

lə·ḵā

– תַּעֲשֶׂ֑ה

ta·‘ă·śeh;

you shall do –

לֹ֣א

not

תָס֗וּר

ṯā·sūr,

you shall turn aside

מִן־

min-

הַדָּבָ֛ר

had·dā·ḇār

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

יַגִּ֥ידֽוּ

yag·gî·ḏū

לְךָ֖

lə·ḵā

､ יָמִ֥ין

yā·mîn

[to] the right hand ､

. וּשְׂמֹֽאל׃

ū·śə·mōl.

or [to] the left .

וְהָאִ֞ישׁ

wə·hā·’îš

And the man

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה

ya·‘ă·śeh

､ בְזָד֗וֹן

ḇə·zā·ḏō·wn,

presumptuously ､

לְבִלְתִּ֨י

lə·ḇil·tî

and not

שְׁמֹ֤עַ

šə·mō·a‘

אֶל־

’el-

הַכֹּהֵן֙

hak·kō·hên

הָעֹמֵ֞ד

hā·‘ō·mêḏ

לְשָׁ֤רֶת

lə·šā·reṯ

to minister before

שָׁם֙

šām

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

､ אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

א֖וֹ

’ōw

or

אֶל־

’el-

､ הַשֹּׁפֵ֑ט

haš·šō·p̄êṭ;

the judge ､

– וּמֵת֙

ū·mêṯ

and shall die –

הָאִ֣ישׁ

hā·’îš

הַה֔וּא

ha·hū,

וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥

ū·ḇi·‘ar·tā

so you shall put away

הָרָ֖ע

hā·rā‘

the evil

. מִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

mî·yiś·rā·’êl.

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

And all

הָעָ֖ם

hā·‘ām

､ יִשְׁמְע֣וּ

yiš·mə·‘ū

､ וְיִרָ֑אוּ

wə·yi·rā·’ū;

and fear ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and no

יְזִיד֖וּן

yə·zî·ḏūn

act presumptuously

I will set

מֶ֔לֶךְ

כְּכָל־

kə·ḵāl-

הַגּוֹיִ֖ם

hag·gō·w·yim

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

. סְבִיבֹתָֽי׃

sə·ḇî·ḇō·ṯāy.

of his kingdom ､

that he shall write

the Levites –

and it shall be

עִמּ֔וֹ

with him

וְקָ֥רָא

and he shall read

it

the days

– חַיָּ֑יו

ḥay·yāw;

of his life –

לְמַ֣עַן

יִלְמַ֗ד

לְיִרְאָה֙

יְהוָ֣ה

､ אֱלֹהָ֔יו

and be careful

above his brothers ､

that he may turn aside

the commandment ､
