of Midian –

וַיִּנְהַ֤ג

way·yin·haḡ

and he led

אֶת־

’eṯ-

הַצֹּאן֙

haṣ·ṣōn

אַחַ֣ר

’a·ḥar

､ הַמִּדְבָּ֔ר

ham·miḏ·bār,

the desert ､

וַיָּבֹ֛א

way·yā·ḇō

and came

אֶל־

’el-

to

הַ֥ר

har

､ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים

of God ､

. חֹרֵֽבָה׃

ḥō·rê·ḇāh.

וַ֠יֵּרָא

מַלְאַ֨ךְ

mal·’aḵ

יְהֹוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

אֵלָ֛יו

’ê·lāw

to him

בְּלַבַּת־

bə·lab·baṯ-

in a flame

אֵ֖שׁ

’êš

מִתּ֣וֹךְ

mit·tō·wḵ

– הַסְּנֶ֑ה

has·sə·neh;

of a bush –

､ וַיַּ֗רְא

way·yar,

So he looked ､

､ וְהִנֵּ֤ה

wə·hin·nêh

and behold ､

הַסְּנֶה֙

has·sə·neh

the bush

בֹּעֵ֣ר

bō·‘êr

､ בָּאֵ֔שׁ

bā·’êš,

with fire ､

וְהַסְּנֶ֖ה

wə·has·sə·neh

but the bush

אֵינֶ֥נּוּ

’ê·nen·nū

not

. אֻכָּֽל׃

’uk·kāl.

[was] consumed .

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

､ מֹשֶׁ֔ה

mō·šeh,

אָסֻֽרָה־

’ā·su·rāh-

I will turn aside

נָּ֣א

nā

וְאֶרְאֶ֔ה

wə·’er·’eh,

and see

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַמַּרְאֶ֥ה

ham·mar·’eh

הַגָּדֹ֖ל

hag·gā·ḏōl

､ הַזֶּ֑ה

haz·zeh;

this ､

מַדּ֖וּעַ

mad·dū·a‘

לֹא־

lō-

not

יִבְעַ֥ר

yiḇ·‘ar

. הַסְּנֶֽה׃

has·sə·neh.

the bush .

וַיַּ֥רְא

way·yar

יְהוָ֖ה

כִּ֣י

he turned aside

､ לִרְא֑וֹת

lir·’ō·wṯ;

to look ､

וַיִּקְרָא֩

אֵלָ֨יו

to him

אֱלֹהִ֜ים

מִתּ֣וֹךְ

mit·tō·wḵ

､ הַסְּנֶ֗ה

has·sə·neh,

of the bush ､

､ וַיֹּ֛אמֶר

and said ､

! מֹשֶׁ֥ה

! מֹשֶׁ֖ה

､ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

and he said ､

. הִנֵּֽנִי׃

Here I am .

､ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

And He said ､

תִּקְרַ֣ב

– הֲלֹ֑ם

שַׁל־

נְעָלֶ֙יךָ֙

מֵעַ֣ל

mê·‘al

､ רַגְלֶ֔יךָ

raḡ·le·ḵā,

כִּ֣י

kî

הַמָּק֗וֹם

ham·mā·qō·wm,

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

אַתָּה֙

’at·tāh

עוֹמֵ֣ד

‘ō·w·mêḏ

､ עָלָ֔יו

‘ā·lāw,

- ､

. אַדְמַת־

’aḏ·maṯ-

קֹ֖דֶשׁ

qō·ḏeš

. הֽוּא׃

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

Moreover He said ､

אָנֹכִי֙

’ā·nō·ḵî

I [am]

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God

､ אָבִ֔יךָ

’ā·ḇî·ḵā,

of your father ､

אֱלֹהֵ֧י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God

､ אַבְרָהָ֛ם

’aḇ·rā·hām

of Abraham ､

אֱלֹהֵ֥י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God

､ יִצְחָ֖ק

yiṣ·ḥāq

of Isaac ､

וֵאלֹהֵ֣י

wê·lō·hê

and the God

. יַעֲקֹ֑ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ;

of Jacob .

וַיַּסְתֵּ֤ר

way·yas·têr

And hid

מֹשֶׁה֙

mō·šeh

– פָּנָ֔יו

pā·nāw,

כִּ֣י

kî

יָרֵ֔א

yā·rê,

מֵהַבִּ֖יט

mê·hab·bîṭ

אֶל־

’el-

. הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

רָאֹ֥ה

rā·’ōh

רָאִ֛יתִי

rā·’î·ṯî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

עֳנִ֥י

‘o·nî

עַמִּ֖י

‘am·mî

of My people

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

､ בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם

bə·miṣ·rā·yim;

in Egypt ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

צַעֲקָתָ֤ם

ṣa·‘ă·qā·ṯām

שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙

šā·ma‘·tî

מִפְּנֵ֣י

mip·pə·nê

– נֹֽגְשָׂ֔יו

nō·ḡə·śāw,

their oppressors –

כִּ֥י

kî

יָדַ֖עְתִּי

yā·ḏa‘·tî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

– מַכְאֹבָֽיו׃

maḵ·’ō·ḇāw.

their sorrows –

וָאֵרֵ֞ד

wā·’ê·rêḏ

so I have come down

לְהַצִּיל֣וֹ ׀

lə·haṣ·ṣî·lōw

to deliver them

מִיַּ֣ד

mî·yaḏ

out of the hand

､ מִצְרַ֗יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

of Egypt ､

וּֽלְהַעֲלֹתוֹ֮

ū·lə·ha·‘ă·lō·ṯōw

and to bring them up

מִן־

min-

הָאָ֣רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

､ הַהִוא֒

ha·hi·w

that ､

אֶל־

’el-

to

אֶ֤רֶץ

’e·reṣ

טוֹבָה֙

ṭō·w·ḇāh

､ וּרְחָבָ֔ה

ū·rə·ḥā·ḇāh,

and large ､

אֶל־

’el-

to

אֶ֛רֶץ

’e·reṣ

זָבַ֥ת

zā·ḇaṯ

חָלָ֖ב

ḥā·lāḇ

with milk

– וּדְבָ֑שׁ

ū·ḏə·ḇāš;

and honey –

אֶל־

’el-

to

מְק֤וֹם

mə·qō·wm

､ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙

hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî

of the Canaanite ､

､ וְהַ֣חִתִּ֔י

wə·ha·ḥit·tî,

and the Hittite ､

､ וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙

wə·hā·’ĕ·mō·rî

and the Amorite ､

､ וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י

wə·hap·pə·riz·zî,

and the Perizzite ､

､ וְהַחִוִּ֖י

wə·ha·ḥiw·wî

and the Hivite ､

. וְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃

wə·hay·ḇū·sî.

and the Jebusite .

וְעַתָּ֕ה

wə·‘at·tāh

､ הִנֵּ֛ה

hin·nêh

צַעֲקַ֥ת

ṣa·‘ă·qaṯ

the cry

בְּנֵי־

bə·nê-

of the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

בָּ֣אָה

bā·’āh

､ אֵלָ֑י

’ê·lāy;

to Me ､

וְגַם־

wə·ḡam-

and also

רָאִ֙יתִי֙

rā·’î·ṯî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַלַּ֔חַץ

hal·la·ḥaṣ,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

with which

מִצְרַ֖יִם

miṣ·ra·yim

לֹחֲצִ֥ים

lō·ḥă·ṣîm

. אֹתָֽם׃

’ō·ṯām.

וְעַתָּ֣ה

wə·‘at·tāh

לְכָ֔ה

lə·ḵāh,

וְאֶֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֖

wə·’eš·lā·ḥă·ḵā

and I will send you

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ פַּרְעֹ֑ה

par·‘ōh;

וְהוֹצֵ֛א

wə·hō·w·ṣê

that you may bring

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ עַמִּ֥י

‘am·mî

My people ､

בְנֵֽי־

ḇə·nê-

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

. מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

mim·miṣ·rā·yim.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

way·yō·mer

But said

מֹשֶׁה֙

mō·šeh

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

God ､

מִ֣י

mî

､ אָנֹ֔כִי

’ā·nō·ḵî,

[am] I ､

כִּ֥י

kî

אֵלֵ֖ךְ

’ê·lêḵ

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ פַּרְעֹ֑ה

par·‘ōh;

וְכִ֥י

אוֹצִ֛יא

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

؟ מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

I will be

עִמָּ֔ךְ

‘im·māḵ,

with you

וְזֶה־

wə·zeh-

And this

לְּךָ֣

lə·ḵā

to you

､ הָא֔וֹת

hā·’ō·wṯ,

[shall be] a sign ､

כִּ֥י

kî

אָנֹכִ֖י

’ā·nō·ḵî

I

: שְׁלַחְתִּ֑יךָ

šə·laḥ·tî·ḵā;

have sent you :

בְּהוֹצִֽיאֲךָ֤

bə·hō·w·ṣî·’ă·ḵā

when you have brought

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָעָם֙

hā·‘ām

､ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם

mim·miṣ·ra·yim,

out of Egypt ､

תַּֽעַבְדוּן֙

ta·‘aḇ·ḏūn

you shall serve

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

עַ֖ל

‘al

on

הָהָ֥ר

hā·hār

. הַזֶּֽה׃

haz·zeh.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

And said

מֹשֶׁ֜ה

､ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים

God ､

､ הִנֵּ֨ה

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵל֒

וְאָמַרְתִּ֣י

､ לָהֶ֔ם

to them ､

אֱלֹהֵ֥י

the God

אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם

of your fathers

שְׁלָחַ֣נִי

šə·lā·ḥa·nî

. אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם

’ă·lê·ḵem;

to you .

וְאָֽמְרוּ־

wə·’ā·mə·rū-

לִ֣י

what [is]

I AM

and He said ､

כֹּ֤ה

לִבְנֵ֣י

to the sons

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

of Israel ､

אֶֽהְיֶ֖ה

’eh·yeh

I AM

שְׁלָחַ֥נִי

šə·lā·ḥa·nî

. אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃

’ă·lê·ḵem.

to you .

וַיֹּאמֶר֩

way·yō·mer

And said

ע֨וֹד

אֱלֹהִ֜ים

This [is]

שְּׁמִ֣י

וְזֶ֥ה

and this [is]

זִכְרִ֖י

ziḵ·rî

לְדֹ֥ר

lə·ḏōr

to

. דֹּֽר׃

dōr.

all generations .

לֵ֣ךְ

Go

וְאָֽסַפְתָּ֞

wə·’ā·sap̄·tā

and gather together

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

זִקְנֵ֣י

ziq·nê

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

of Israel ､

וְאָמַרְתָּ֤

wə·’ā·mar·tā

and say

､ אֲלֵהֶם֙

’ă·lê·hem

to them ､

יְהוָ֞ה

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵ֤י

’ĕ·lō·hê

､ אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם֙

’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem

of your fathers ､

נִרְאָ֣ה

nir·’āh

אֵלַ֔י

to me

the God

､ אַבְרָהָ֛ם

of Abraham ､

､ יִצְחָ֥ק

and of Jacob

､ לֵאמֹ֑ר

פָּקֹ֤ד

פָּקַ֙דְתִּי֙

､ אֶתְכֶ֔ם

’eṯ·ḵem,

you ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

הֶעָשׂ֥וּי

he·‘ā·śui

[seen] what is done

לָכֶ֖ם

lā·ḵem

to you

. בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃

bə·miṣ·rā·yim.

in Egypt .

､ וָאֹמַ֗ר

wā·’ō·mar,

And I have said ､

אַעֲלֶ֣ה

’a·‘ă·leh

I will bring up

אֶתְכֶם֮

’eṯ·ḵem

מֵעֳנִ֣י

mê·‘o·nî

out of the affliction

､ מִצְרַיִם֒

miṣ·ra·yim

of Egypt ､

אֶל־

’el-

to

אֶ֤רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the land

､ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙

hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî

of the Canaanite ､

､ וְהַ֣חִתִּ֔י

wə·ha·ḥit·tî,

and the Hittite ､

､ וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙

wə·hā·’ĕ·mō·rî

And they will heed

– לְקֹלֶ֑ךָ

lə·qō·le·ḵā;

וּבָאתָ֡

ū·ḇā·ṯā

and you shall come

אַתָּה֩

’at·tāh

וְזִקְנֵ֨י

wə·ziq·nê

and the elders

יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל

yiś·rā·’êl

אֶל־

’el-

to

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

the king

､ מִצְרַ֗יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

of Egypt ､

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֤ם

wa·’ă·mar·tem

and you shall say

､ אֵלָיו֙

’ê·lāw

to him ､

יְהוָ֞ה

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵ֤י

’ĕ·lō·hê

הָֽעִבְרִיִּים֙

hā·‘iḇ·rî·yîm

of the Hebrews

נִקְרָ֣ה

niq·rāh

. עָלֵ֔ינוּ

‘ā·lê·nū,

with us .

וְעַתָּ֗ה

wə·‘at·tāh,

､ נֵֽלֲכָה־

nê·lă·ḵāh-

let us go ､

､ נָּ֞א

nā

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

de·reḵ

שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת

šə·lō·šeṯ

יָמִים֙

yā·mîm

､ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר

bam·miḏ·bār,

into the wilderness ､

וְנִזְבְּחָ֖ה

wə·niz·bə·ḥāh

that we may sacrifice

לַֽיהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū.

וַאֲנִ֣י

wa·’ă·nî

But I

יָדַ֔עְתִּי

yā·ḏa‘·tî,

כִּ֠י

kî

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

יִתֵּ֥ן

yit·tên

will let

אֶתְכֶ֛ם

’eṯ·ḵem

מֶ֥לֶךְ

me·leḵ

the king

מִצְרַ֖יִם

miṣ·ra·yim

､ לַהֲלֹ֑ךְ

la·hă·lōḵ;

go ､

וְלֹ֖א

wə·lō

בְּיָ֥ד

bə·yāḏ

by a hand

. חֲזָקָֽה׃

ḥă·zā·qāh.

וְשָׁלַחְתִּ֤י

wə·šā·laḥ·tî

So I will stretch out

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ יָדִי֙

yā·ḏî

My hand ､

וְהִכֵּיתִ֣י

wə·hik·kê·ṯî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

בְּכֹל֙

bə·ḵōl

with all

נִפְלְאֹתַ֔י

nip̄·lə·’ō·ṯay,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה

’e·‘ĕ·śeh

I will do

. בְּקִרְבּ֑וֹ

bə·qir·bōw;

וְאַחֲרֵי־

wə·’a·ḥă·rê-

כֵ֖ן

ḵên

יְשַׁלַּ֥ח

yə·šal·laḥ

he will let go

. אֶתְכֶֽם׃

’eṯ·ḵem.

וְנָתַתִּ֛י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

And I will give

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

חֵ֥ן

ḥên

הָֽעָם־

hā·‘ām-

הַזֶּ֖ה

haz·zeh

בְּעֵינֵ֣י

bə·‘ê·nê

in the sight

מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

of the Egyptians

､ וְהָיָה֙

wə·hā·yāh

and it shall be ､

כִּ֣י

kî

､ תֵֽלֵכ֔וּן

ṯê·lê·ḵūn,

you go ､

לֹ֥א

lō

not

תֵלְכ֖וּ

ṯê·lə·ḵū

. רֵיקָֽם׃

rê·qām.

וְשָׁאֲלָ֨ה

wə·šā·’ă·lāh

אִשָּׁ֤ה

’iš·šāh

､ מִשְּׁכֶנְתָּהּ֙

miš·šə·ḵen·tāh

of her neighbor ､

וּמִגָּרַ֣ת

ū·mig·gā·raṯ

and any woman staying

､ בֵּיתָ֔הּ

bê·ṯāh,

in her house ､

כְּלֵי־

kə·lê-

､ כֶ֛סֶף

ḵe·sep̄

of silver ､

וּכְלֵ֥י

ū·ḵə·lê

､ זָהָ֖ב

zā·hāḇ

of gold ､

– וּשְׂמָלֹ֑ת

ū·śə·mā·lōṯ;

and clothing –

וְשַׂמְתֶּ֗ם

wə·śam·tem,

And you shall put [them]

עַל־

‘al-

on

､ בְּנֵיכֶם֙

bə·nê·ḵem

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and on

– בְּנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם

bə·nō·ṯê·ḵem,

your daughters –

וְנִצַּלְתֶּ֖ם

wə·niṣ·ṣal·tem

so you shall plunder

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

. מִצְרָֽיִם׃

miṣ·rā·yim.
