הָיָ֥ה

､ לֵאמֹֽר׃

､ אָדָ֕ם

פָּנֶ֔יךָ

pā·ne·ḵā,

עַל־

‘al-

פַּרְעֹ֖ה

par·‘ōh

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

､ מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

of Egypt ､

וְהִנָּבֵ֣א

wə·hin·nā·ḇê

עָלָ֔יו

‘ā·lāw,

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

מִצְרַ֖יִם

miṣ·ra·yim

. כֻּלָּֽהּ׃

kul·lāh.

､ דַּבֵּ֨ר

dab·bêr

､ וְאָמַרְתָּ֜

wə·’ā·mar·tā

and say ､

כֹּֽה־

kōh-

אָמַ֣ר ׀

’ā·mar

אֲדֹנָ֣י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

– יְהוִ֗ה

Yah·weh

GOD –

הִנְנִ֤י

hin·nî

behold I [am]

עָלֶ֙יךָ֙

‘ā·le·ḵā

פַּרְעֹ֣ה

par·‘ōh

מֶֽלֶךְ־

me·leḵ-

､ מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

of Egypt ､

הַתַּנִּים֙

hat·tan·nîm

הַגָּד֔וֹל

hag·gā·ḏō·wl,

הָרֹבֵ֖ץ

hā·rō·ḇêṣ

בְּת֣וֹךְ

bə·ṯō·wḵ

in the midst

､ יְאֹרָ֑יו

yə·’ō·rāw;

of his rivers ､

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

､ אָמַ֛ר

’ā·mar

לִ֥י

lî

my own

יְאֹרִ֖י

yə·’ō·rî

My River [is]

וַאֲנִ֥י

wa·’ă·nî

and I

. עֲשִׂיתִֽנִי׃

‘ă·śî·ṯi·nî.

have made [it] for myself .

וְנָתַתִּ֤י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

But I will put

[חחיים]

ḥa·ḥî·yîm

-

(חַחִים֙)

ḥa·ḥîm

､ בִּלְחָיֶ֔יךָ

bil·ḥā·ye·ḵā,

in your jaws ､

וְהִדְבַּקְתִּ֥י

wə·hiḏ·baq·tî

and cause to stick

דְגַת־

ḏə·ḡaṯ-

the fish

יְאֹרֶ֖יךָ

yə·’ō·re·ḵā

､ בְּקַשְׂקְשֹׂתֶ֑יךָ

bə·qaś·qə·śō·ṯe·ḵā;

to your scales ､

וְהַעֲלִיתִ֙יךָ֙

wə·ha·‘ă·lî·ṯî·ḵā

and I will bring you up

מִתּ֣וֹךְ

mit·tō·wḵ

out of the midst

､ יְאֹרֶ֔יךָ

yə·’ō·re·ḵā,

of your rivers ､

וְאֵת֙

wə·’êṯ

and

כָּל־

kāl-

דְּגַ֣ת

də·ḡaṯ

the fish in

יְאֹרֶ֔יךָ

yə·’ō·re·ḵā,

בְּקַשְׂקְשֹׂתֶ֖יךָ

bə·qaś·qə·śō·ṯe·ḵā

. תִּדְבָּֽק׃

tiḏ·bāq.

will stick .

וּנְטַשְׁתִּ֣יךָ

ū·nə·ṭaš·tî·ḵā

And I will leave you

､ הַמִּדְבָּ֗רָה

ham·miḏ·bā·rāh,

in the wilderness ､

אוֹתְךָ֙

’ō·wṯ·ḵā

וְאֵת֙

wə·’êṯ

and

כָּל־

kāl-

דְּגַ֣ת

də·ḡaṯ

the fish

– יְאֹרֶ֔יךָ

yə·’ō·re·ḵā,

of your rivers –

עַל־

‘al-

on

פְּנֵ֤י

pə·nê

– הַשָּׂדֶה֙

haś·śā·ḏeh

the field –

תִּפּ֔וֹל

tip·pō·wl,

לֹ֥א

lō

not

､ תֵאָסֵ֖ף

ṯê·’ā·sêp̄

You shall be picked up ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

or

. תִקָּבֵ֑ץ

ṯiq·qā·ḇêṣ;

לְחַיַּ֥ת

lə·ḥay·yaṯ

To the beasts

הָאָ֛רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

of the field

וּלְע֥וֹף

ū·lə·‘ō·wp̄

and to the birds

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

haš·šā·ma·yim

of the heavens

נְתַתִּ֥יךָ

nə·ṯat·tî·ḵā

I have given you

. לְאָכְלָֽה׃

lə·’āḵ·lāh

as food .

וְיָֽדְעוּ֙

wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū

כָּל־

kāl-

יֹשְׁבֵ֣י

yō·šə·ḇê

the inhabitants

מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

כִּ֖י

kî

אֲנִ֣י

’ă·nî

I [am]

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

יַ֧עַן

ya·‘an

הֱיוֹתָ֛ם

hĕ·yō·w·ṯām

מִשְׁעֶ֥נֶת

miš·‘e·neṯ

קָנֶ֖ה

qā·neh

לְבֵ֥ית

lə·ḇêṯ

to the house

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

בְּתָפְשָׂ֨ם

bə·ṯā·p̄ə·śām

When they took hold

בְּךָ֤

bə·ḵā

of you

[בכפך]

ḇak·kap̄·ḵā

-

､ (בַכַּף֙)

ḇak·kap̄

with the hand ､

､ תֵּר֔וֹץ

tê·rō·wṣ,

וּבָקַעְתָּ֥

ū·ḇā·qa‘·tā

and tore

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

כָּל־

kāl-

– כָּתֵ֑ף

kā·ṯêp̄;

וּבְהִֽשָּׁעֲנָ֤ם

ū·ḇə·hiš·šā·‘ă·nām

and when they leaned

עָלֶ֙יךָ֙

‘ā·le·ḵā

on you

､ תִּשָּׁבֵ֔ר

tiš·šā·ḇêr,

. וְהַעֲמַדְתָּ֥

wə·ha·‘ă·maḏ·tā

and made quiver .

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

כָּל־

kāl-

. מָתְנָֽיִם׃

mā·ṯə·nā·yim.

The Desolation of Egypt

לָכֵ֗ן

lā·ḵên,

כֹּ֤ה

אָמַר֙

’ā·mar

אֲדֹנָ֣י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

– יְהוִ֔ה

Yah·weh,

GOD –

הִנְנִ֛י

hin·nî

מֵבִ֥יא

mê·ḇî

will bring

עָלַ֖יִךְ

‘ā·la·yiḵ

חָ֑רֶב

ḥā·reḇ;

וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י

wə·hiḵ·rat·tî

מִמֵּ֖ךְ

mim·mêḵ

אָדָ֥ם

’ā·ḏām

. וּבְהֵמָֽה׃

ū·ḇə·hê·māh.

and beast .

וְהָיְתָ֤ה

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

And shall become

אֶֽרֶץ־

’e·reṣ-

the land

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙

miṣ·ra·yim

לִשְׁמָמָ֣ה

liš·mā·māh

– וְחָרְבָּ֔ה

wə·ḥā·rə·bāh,

and waste –

וְיָדְע֖וּ

wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū

then they will know

כִּֽי־

kî-

אֲנִ֣י

’ă·nî

I [am]

. יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

יַ֧עַן

ya·‘an

､ אָמַ֛ר

’ā·mar

he said ､

יְאֹ֥ר

yə·’ōr

the Nile [is]

לִ֖י

lî

וַאֲנִ֥י

wa·’ă·nî

and I

. עָשִֽׂיתִי׃

‘ā·śî·ṯî.

have made [it] .

לָכֵ֛ן

lā·ḵên

הִנְנִ֥י

hin·nî

indeed I [am]

אֵלֶ֖יךָ

’ê·le·ḵā

וְאֶל־

wə·’el-

､ יְאֹרֶ֑יךָ

yə·’ō·re·ḵā;

your rivers ､

וְנָתַתִּ֞י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

and I will make

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֶ֣רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the land

מִצְרַ֗יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

לְחָרְבוֹת֙

lə·ḥā·rə·ḇō·wṯ

חֹ֣רֶב

ḥō·reḇ

､ שְׁמָמָ֔ה

šə·mā·māh,

and desolate ､

מִמִּגְדֹּ֥ל

mim·miḡ·dōl

סְוֵנֵ֖ה

sə·wê·nêh

[to] Syene

וְעַד־

wə·‘aḏ-

and as far as

גְּב֥וּל

gə·ḇūl

. כּֽוּשׁ׃

kūš.

לֹ֤א

lō

תַעֲבָר־

ṯa·‘ă·ḇār-

בָּהּ֙

bāh

רֶ֣גֶל

re·ḡel

אָדָ֔ם

’ā·ḏām,

of man

וְרֶ֥גֶל

wə·re·ḡel

and foot

בְּהֵמָ֖ה

bə·hê·māh

לֹ֣א

lō

תַעֲבָר־

ṯa·‘ă·ḇār-

בָּ֑הּ

bāh;

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and

תֵשֵׁ֖ב

ṯê·šêḇ

it shall be uninhabited

אַרְבָּעִ֥ים

’ar·bā·‘îm

. שָׁנָֽה׃

šā·nāh.

וְנָתַתִּ֣י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

And I will make

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֶרֶץ֩

’e·reṣ

the land

מִצְרַ֨יִם

miṣ·ra·yim

שְׁמָמָ֜ה

šə·mā·māh

בְּת֣וֹךְ ׀

bə·ṯō·wḵ

in the midst

אֲרָצ֣וֹת

’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ

of the countries

､ נְשַׁמּ֗וֹת

nə·šam·mō·wṯ,

[that] [are] desolate ､

וְעָרֶ֙יהָ֙

wə·‘ā·re·hā

בְּת֨וֹךְ

bə·ṯō·wḵ

עָרִ֤ים

‘ā·rîm

מָֽחֳרָבוֹת֙

mā·ḥo·rā·ḇō·wṯ

[that] [are] laid waste

תִּֽהְיֶ֣יןָ

tih·ye·nā

שְׁמָמָ֔ה

šə·mā·māh,

אַרְבָּעִ֖ים

’ar·bā·‘îm

– שָׁנָ֑ה

šā·nāh;

וַהֲפִצֹתִ֤י

wa·hă·p̄i·ṣō·ṯî

and I will scatter

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙

miṣ·ra·yim

､ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם

bag·gō·w·yim,

among the nations ､

וְֽזֵרִיתִ֖ים

wə·zê·rî·ṯîm

and disperse them

. בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

bā·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ.

throughout the countries .

אֲקַבֵּ֣ץ

’ă·qab·bêṣ

I will gather

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

מִן־

min-

הָעַמִּ֖ים

hā·‘am·mîm

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

נָפֹ֥צוּ

nā·p̄ō·ṣū

they were scattered

. שָֽׁמָּה׃

šām·māh.

וְשַׁבְתִּי֙

wə·šaḇ·tî

And I will bring back

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

שְׁב֣וּת

šə·ḇūṯ

､ מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

of Egypt ､

וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֤י

wa·hă·ši·ḇō·ṯî

and cause to return

אֹתָם֙

’ō·ṯām

אֶ֣רֶץ

’e·reṣ

to the land

､ פַּתְר֔וֹס

paṯ·rō·ws,

of Pathros ､

עַל־

‘al-

to

אֶ֖רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the land

– מְכֽוּרָתָ֑ם

mə·ḵū·rā·ṯām;

of their origin –

וְהָ֥יוּ

wə·hā·yū

and they shall be

שָׁ֖ם

šām

מַמְלָכָ֥ה

mam·lā·ḵāh

. שְׁפָלָֽה׃

šə·p̄ā·lāh.

מִן־

min-

Of

– הַמַּמְלָכוֹת֙

ham·mam·lā·ḵō·wṯ

the kingdoms –

תִּהְיֶ֣ה

tih·yeh

it shall be

שְׁפָלָ֔ה

šə·p̄ā·lāh,

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

תִתְנַשֵּׂ֥א

ṯiṯ·naś·śê

it shall exalt itself

ע֖וֹד

‘ō·wḏ

עַל־

‘al-

. הַגּוֹיִ֑ם

hag·gō·w·yim;

וְהִ֨מְעַטְתִּ֔ים

wə·him·‘aṭ·tîm,

And for I will diminish them

לְבִלְתִּ֖י

lə·ḇil·tî

so that they will not

רְד֥וֹת

rə·ḏō·wṯ

. בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃

bag·gō·w·yim.

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

And No

יִֽהְיֶה־

yih·yeh-

shall it be

עוֹד֩

‘ō·wḏ

לְבֵ֨ית

lə·ḇêṯ

of the house

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל

yiś·rā·’êl

of Israel ､

לְמִבְטָח֙

lə·miḇ·ṭāḥ

מַזְכִּ֣יר

maz·kîr

but will remind them

､ עָוֺ֔ן

‘ā·wōn,

of [their] iniquity ､

בִּפְנוֹתָ֖ם

bip̄·nō·w·ṯām

when they turned

אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם

’a·ḥă·rê·hem;

וְיָ֣דְע֔וּ

wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū,

and they shall know

כִּ֥י

kî

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I [am]

אֲדֹנָ֥י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

. יְהוִֽה׃

the year ､

בָּֽרִאשׁ֖וֹן

in the first [month]

בְּאֶחָ֣ד

bə·’e·ḥāḏ

on the first [day]

､ לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ

la·ḥō·ḏeš;

of the month ､

הָיָ֥ה

hā·yāh

דְבַר־

ḏə·ḇar-

the word

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

אֵלַ֥י

’ê·lay

to me

､ לֵאמֹֽר׃

lê·mōr.

בֶּן־

ben-

､ אָדָ֗ם

’ā·ḏām,

of man ､

נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר

nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar

מֶֽלֶךְ־

me·leḵ-

בָּ֠בֶל

bā·ḇel

הֶעֱבִ֨יד

he·‘ĕ·ḇîḏ

caused to labor

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

חֵיל֜וֹ

ḥê·lōw

עֲבֹדָ֤ה

‘ă·ḇō·ḏāh

גְדֹלָה֙

ḡə·ḏō·lāh

אֶל־

’el-

– צֹ֔ר

ṣōr,

Tyre –

כָּל־

kāl-

רֹ֣אשׁ

rōš

､ מֻקְרָ֔ח

muq·rāḥ,

[was] made bald ､

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

כָּתֵ֖ף

kā·ṯêp̄

– מְרוּטָ֑ה

mə·rū·ṭāh;

､ וְ֠שָׂכָר

wə·śā·ḵār

and yet wages ､

לֹא־

lō-

הָ֨יָה

hā·yāh

ל֤וֹ

lōw

he

､ וּלְחֵילוֹ֙

ū·lə·ḥê·lōw

and nor his army ､

מִצֹּ֔ר

miṣ·ṣōr,

עַל־

‘al-

הָעֲבֹדָ֖ה

hā·‘ă·ḇō·ḏāh

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

עָבַ֥ד

‘ā·ḇaḏ

. עָלֶֽיהָ׃

‘ā·le·hā.

on it .

will give

לִנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר

lin·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar

to Nebuchadnezzar

מֶֽלֶךְ־

me·leḵ-

– בָּבֶ֖ל

bā·ḇel

of Babylon –

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֶ֣רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the land

מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

וְנָשָׂ֨א

wə·nā·śā

and he shall take away

､ הֲמֹנָ֜הּ

hă·mō·nāh

וְשָׁלַ֤ל

wə·šā·lal

､ שְׁלָלָהּ֙

šə·lā·lāh

וּבָזַ֣ז

ū·ḇā·zaz

– בִּזָּ֔הּ

biz·zāh,

her pillage –

וְהָיְתָ֥ה

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

that will be

שָׂכָ֖ר

śā·ḵār

. לְחֵילֽוֹ׃

lə·ḥê·lōw.

פְּעֻלָּתוֹ֙

pə·‘ul·lā·ṯōw

[for] his labor

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

with which

עָ֣בַד

‘ā·ḇaḏ

בָּ֔הּ

bāh,

in

נָתַ֥תִּי

nā·ṯat·tî

ל֖וֹ

lōw

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֶ֣רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the land

מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

אֲשֶׁר֙

’ă·šer

עָ֣שׂוּ

‘ā·śū

לִ֔י

lî,

for Me

נְאֻ֖ם

nə·’um

אֲדֹנָ֥י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

. יְהוִֽה׃

Yah·weh.

In day

הַה֗וּא

ha·hū,

､ אַצְמִ֤יחַ

’aṣ·mî·aḥ

I will cause to spring forth ､

קֶ֙רֶן֙

qe·ren

the horn

לְבֵ֣ית

lə·ḇêṯ

of the house

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

וּלְךָ֛

ū·lə·ḵā

and

אֶתֵּ֥ן

’et·tên

I will open

פִּתְחֽוֹן־

piṯ·ḥō·wn-

פֶּ֖ה

peh

בְּתוֹכָ֑ם

bə·ṯō·w·ḵām;

וְיָדְע֖וּ

wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū

and they shall know

כִּי־

kî-

אֲנִ֥י

’ă·nî

I [am]

. יְהוָֽה׃
