And came

הַמַּלְאָכִ֤ים
ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm
סְדֹ֙מָה֙
sə·ḏō·māh
– בָּעֶ֔רֶב
bā·‘e·reḇ,
in the evening –
וְל֖וֹט
wə·lō·wṭ
and Lot
יֹשֵׁ֣ב
yō·šêḇ
בְּשַֽׁעַר־
bə·ša·‘ar-
in the gate
. סְדֹ֑ם
sə·ḏōm;
of Sodom .
וַיַּרְא־
way·yar-
And when saw [them]
לוֹט֙
lō·wṭ
וַיָּ֣קָם
way·yā·qām
､ לִקְרָאתָ֔ם
liq·rā·ṯām,
to meet them ､
וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ
way·yiš·ta·ḥū
and he bowed
אַפַּ֖יִם
’ap·pa·yim
with his face
. אָֽרְצָה׃
’ā·rə·ṣāh.

､ וַיֹּ֜אמֶר
way·yō·mer
And he said ､
הִנֶּ֣ה
hin·neh
､ נָּא־
nā-
now ､
､ אֲדֹנַ֗י
’ă·ḏō·nay,
my lords ､
､ ס֣וּרוּ
sū·rū
turn in ､
､ נָ֠א
nā
please ､
אֶל־
’el-
to
､ בֵּ֨ית
bêṯ
house ､
､ עַבְדְּכֶ֤ם
‘aḇ·də·ḵem
of your servant ､
､ וְלִ֙ינוּ֙
wə·lî·nū
and spend the night ､
וְרַחֲצ֣וּ
wə·ra·ḥă·ṣū
and wash
. רַגְלֵיכֶ֔ם
raḡ·lê·ḵem,
､ וְהִשְׁכַּמְתֶּ֖ם
wə·hiš·kam·tem
וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֣ם‪‬
wa·hă·laḵ·tem
and go
. לְדַרְכְּכֶ֑ם
lə·ḏar·kə·ḵem;
on your way .
､ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ
way·yō·mə·rū
And they said ､
– לֹּ֔א
lō,
No –
כִּ֥י
kî
בָרְח֖וֹב
ḇā·rə·ḥō·wḇ
in the open square
. נָלִֽין׃
nā·lîn.
we will spend the night .

וַיִּפְצַר־
way·yip̄·ṣar-
But he insisted
בָּ֣ם
bām
in it
– מְאֹ֔ד
mə·’ōḏ,
וַיָּסֻ֣רוּ
way·yā·su·rū
so they turned in
אֵלָ֔יו
’ê·lāw,
to him
וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ
way·yā·ḇō·’ū
אֶל־
’el-
– בֵּית֑וֹ
bê·ṯōw;
וַיַּ֤עַשׂ
way·ya·‘aś
and he made
לָהֶם֙
lā·hem
､ מִשְׁתֶּ֔ה
miš·teh,
a feast ､
וּמַצּ֥וֹת
ū·maṣ·ṣō·wṯ
､ אָפָ֖ה
’ā·p̄āh
he baked ､
. וַיֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃
way·yō·ḵê·lū.
and they ate .

וְאַנְשֵׁ֨י

then the men
､ הָעִ֜יר

of the city ､
אַנְשֵׁ֤י
’an·šê
the men
､ סְדֹם֙
sə·ḏōm
of Sodom ､
נָסַ֣בּוּ
nā·sab·bū
עַל־
‘al-
､ הַבַּ֔יִת
hab·ba·yiṯ,
the house ､
מִנַּ֖עַר
min·na·‘ar
וְעַד־
wə·‘aḏ-
and to
､ זָקֵ֑ן
zā·qên;
old ､
כָּל־
kāl-
הָעָ֖ם
hā·‘ām
the people
. מִקָּצֶֽה׃
miq·qā·ṣeh.

Lot ､
וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ
way·yō·mə·rū
and said
､ ל֔וֹ
lōw,
to him ､
אַיֵּ֧ה
’ay·yêh
הָאֲנָשִׁ֛ים
hā·’ă·nā·šîm
the men
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
בָּ֥אוּ
bā·’ū
אֵלֶ֖יךָ
’ê·le·ḵā
to you
؟ הַלָּ֑יְלָה
hal·lā·yə·lāh;
הוֹצִיאֵ֣ם
hō·w·ṣî·’êm
אֵלֵ֔ינוּ

to us
וְנֵדְעָ֖ה

. אֹתָֽם׃

and the door

and said ､

a man –

to you ､
וַעֲשׂ֣וּ

and you may do
לָהֶ֔ן

– בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֑ם

in your eyes –

to sojourn ､

and he acting as a judge
– שָׁפ֔וֹט

עַתָּ֕ה

we will deal worse
לְךָ֖

with you
– מֵהֶ֑ם
mê·hem;
than with them –
וַיִּפְצְר֨וּ

בָאִ֤ישׁ

בְּלוֹט֙
bə·lō·wṭ
､ מְאֹ֔ד
mə·’ōḏ,
hard ､
וַֽיִּגְּשׁ֖וּ

and pulled

with them
､ הַבָּ֑יְתָה

into the house ､

to find

the face

Yah·weh,
of Yahweh –

and has sent us

Get up ､

the angels
､ בְּל֣וֹט

Lot ､
､ לֵאמֹ֑ר
lê·mōr;
saying ､

Arise ､
קַ֨ח
qaḥ
אֶֽת־

､ אִשְׁתְּךָ֜

וְאֶת־

and

And it came to pass ､
בְּשַׁחֵ֤ת

אֱלֹהִים֙

עָרֵ֣י
‘ā·rê
the cities
､ הַכִּכָּ֔ר
hak·kik·kār,
of the plain ､
וַיִּזְכֹּ֥ר
way·yiz·kōr
אֱלֹהִ֖ים
’ĕ·lō·hîm
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
､ אַבְרָהָ֑ם
’aḇ·rā·hām;
וַיְשַׁלַּ֤ח
way·šal·laḥ
and sent
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
לוֹט֙
lō·wṭ
מִתּ֣וֹךְ
mit·tō·wḵ
out of the midst
､ הַהֲפֵכָ֔ה
ha·hă·p̄ê·ḵāh,
of the disaster ､
בַּהֲפֹךְ֙
ba·hă·p̄ōḵ
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים
he·‘ā·rîm,
the cities
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
יָשַׁ֥ב
yā·šaḇ
בָּהֵ֖ן

in

וַיַּעַל֩
way·ya·‘al
And went up
ל֨וֹט
lō·wṭ
､ מִצּ֜וֹעַר
miṣ·ṣō·w·‘ar
out of Zoar ､
וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב
way·yê·šeḇ
and dwelt
､ בָּהָ֗ר
bā·hār,
in the mountains ､
וּשְׁתֵּ֤י
ū·šə·tê
and his two
בְנֹתָיו֙
ḇə·nō·ṯāw
– עִמּ֔וֹ
‘im·mōw,
with him –
כִּ֥י
kî
יָרֵ֖א
yā·rê
לָשֶׁ֣בֶת
lā·še·ḇeṯ
. בְּצ֑וֹעַר
bə·ṣō·w·‘ar;
in Zoar .
וַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙
way·yê·šeḇ
And he dwelt
､ בַּמְּעָרָ֔ה
bam·mə·‘ā·rāh,
in a cave ､
ה֖וּא
hū
he
וּשְׁתֵּ֥י
ū·šə·tê
and two
. בְנֹתָֽיו׃
ḇə·nō·ṯāw.

וַתֹּ֧אמֶר
wat·tō·mer
And said
הַבְּכִירָ֛ה
hab·bə·ḵî·rāh
אֶל־
’el-
to
､ הַצְּעִירָ֖ה
haṣ·ṣə·‘î·rāh
the younger ､
אָבִ֣ינוּ
’ā·ḇî·nū
､ זָקֵ֑ן
zā·qên;
[is] old ､
וְאִ֨ישׁ
wə·’îš
and man
אֵ֤ין
’ên
[there is] no
בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙
bā·’ā·reṣ
on the earth
לָב֣וֹא
lā·ḇō·w
to come in
עָלֵ֔ינוּ
‘ā·lê·nū,
to us
כְּדֶ֖רֶךְ
kə·ḏe·reḵ
as is the custom
כָּל־
kāl-
of all
. הָאָֽרֶץ׃
hā·’ā·reṣ.
the earth .

､ לְכָ֨ה
lə·ḵāh
Come ､
נַשְׁקֶ֧ה
naš·qeh
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
אָבִ֛ינוּ
’ā·ḇî·nū
､ יַ֖יִן
ya·yin
wine ､
וְנִשְׁכְּבָ֣ה
wə·niš·kə·ḇāh
and we will lie
､ עִמּ֑וֹ
‘im·mōw;
with him ､
וּנְחַיֶּ֥ה
ū·nə·ḥay·yeh
מֵאָבִ֖ינוּ
mê·’ā·ḇî·nū
. זָֽרַע׃
zā·ra‘.
the seed .

וַתַּשְׁקֶ֧יןָ
wat·taš·qe·nā
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
אֲבִיהֶ֛ן
’ă·ḇî·hen
יַ֖יִן
ya·yin
､ בַּלַּ֣יְלָה
bal·lay·lāh
night ､
ה֑וּא
hū;
וַתָּבֹ֤א
wat·tā·ḇō
and went in
､ הַבְּכִירָה֙
hab·bə·ḵî·rāh
the firstborn ､
וַתִּשְׁכַּ֣ב
wat·tiš·kaḇ
and lay with
אֶת־
’eṯ-
with her
– אָבִ֔יהָ
’ā·ḇî·hā,
father –
וְלֹֽא־
wə·lō-
and not
יָדַ֥ע
yā·ḏa‘
､ בְּשִׁכְבָ֖הּ
bə·šiḵ·ḇāh
. וּבְקׄוּמָֽהּ׃‪‬
ū·ḇə·qū·māh

וַֽיְהִי֙
way·hî
And it happened
､ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת
mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ,
on the next day ､
וַתֹּ֤אמֶר
wat·tō·mer
הַבְּכִירָה֙
hab·bə·ḵî·rāh
אֶל־
’el-
to
､ הַצְּעִירָ֔ה
haṣ·ṣə·‘î·rāh,
the younger ､
､ הֵן־
hên-
indeed ､
שָׁכַ֥בְתִּי
šā·ḵaḇ·tî
I lay
אֶ֖מֶשׁ
’e·meš
אֶת־
’eṯ-
with
– אָבִ֑י
’ā·ḇî;
my father –
נַשְׁקֶ֨נּוּ
naš·qen·nū
יַ֜יִן
ya·yin
גַּם־
gam-
– הַלַּ֗יְלָה
hal·lay·lāh,
､ וּבֹ֙אִי֙
ū·ḇō·’î
and you go in ､
שִׁכְבִ֣י
šiḵ·ḇî
[and] lie
､ עִמּ֔וֹ
‘im·mōw,
with him ､
וּנְחַיֶּ֥ה
ū·nə·ḥay·yeh
מֵאָבִ֖ינוּ
mê·’ā·ḇî·nū
. זָֽרַע׃

and arose
､ הַצְּעִירָה֙

with him ､

. מֵאֲבִיהֶֽן׃

וַתֵּ֤לֶד

And bore
הַבְּכִירָה֙
hab·bə·ḵî·rāh
､ בֵּ֔ן
bên,
a son ､
וַתִּקְרָ֥א
wat·tiq·rā
שְׁמ֖וֹ
šə·mōw
– מוֹאָ֑ב
mō·w·’āḇ;
Moab –
ה֥וּא
hū
he [is]
אֲבִֽי־
’ă·ḇî-
the father
מוֹאָ֖ב

of the Moabites
עַד־
‘aḏ-
to
. הַיּֽוֹם׃

､ וְהַצְּעִירָ֤ה

And the younger ､

הִוא֙

､ בֵּ֔ן

a son ､
וַתִּקְרָ֥א

שְׁמ֖וֹ

he [is]
