הָרָעָ֣ב

הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן

hā·ri·šō·wn,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

הָיָ֖ה

hā·yāh

בִּימֵ֣י

bî·mê

in the days

. אַבְרָהָ֑ם

’aḇ·rā·hām;

וַיֵּ֧לֶךְ

way·yê·leḵ

And went

יִצְחָ֛ק

yiṣ·ḥāq

אֶל־

’el-

to

אֲבִימֶּ֥לֶךְ‪‬

’ă·ḇîm·me·leḵ

מֶֽלֶךְ־

פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים

of the Philistines

. גְּרָֽרָה׃

וַיֵּרָ֤א

אֵלָיו֙

’ê·lāw

to him

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

､ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said ､

אַל־

’al-

not

תֵּרֵ֣ד

tê·rêḏ

do go down

– מִצְרָ֑יְמָה

miṣ·rā·yə·māh;

to Egypt –

שְׁכֹ֣ן

šə·ḵōn

בָּאָ֔רֶץ

bā·’ā·reṣ,

in the land

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

’ă·šer

אֹמַ֥ר

’ō·mar

– אֵלֶֽיךָ׃

’ê·le·ḵā.

you –

גּ֚וּר

gūr

בָּאָ֣רֶץ

bā·’ā·reṣ

､ הַזֹּ֔את

haz·zōṯ,

this ､

וְאֶֽהְיֶ֥ה

wə·’eh·yeh

and I will be

עִמְּךָ֖

‘im·mə·ḵā

with you

､ וַאֲבָרְכֶ֑ךָּ

wa·’ă·ḇā·rə·ḵe·kā;

and bless you ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

לְךָ֣

lə·ḵā

to you

וּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֗

ū·lə·zar·‘ă·ḵā,

and your descendants

אֶתֵּן֙

’et·tên

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

כָּל־

kāl-

הָֽאֲרָצֹ֣ת

hā·’ă·rā·ṣōṯ

､ הָאֵ֔ל

hā·’êl,

וַהֲקִֽמֹתִי֙

wa·hă·qi·mō·ṯî

and I will confirm

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַשְּׁבֻעָ֔ה

haš·šə·ḇu·‘āh,

the oath

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

נִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּי

niš·ba‘·tî

לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם

lə·’aḇ·rā·hām

. אָבִֽיךָ׃

’ā·ḇî·ḵā.

וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֤י

wə·hir·bê·ṯî

And I will make multiply

אֶֽת־

’eṯ-

-

זַרְעֲךָ֙

zar·‘ă·ḵā

your descendants

כְּכוֹכְבֵ֣י

kə·ḵō·wḵ·ḇê

as the stars

､ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

haš·šā·ma·yim,

in the sky ､

וְנָתַתִּ֣י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

and I will give

לְזַרְעֲךָ֔

lə·zar·‘ă·ḵā,

to your descendants

אֵ֥ת

’êṯ

-

כָּל־

kāl-

הָאֲרָצֹ֖ת

hā·’ă·rā·ṣōṯ

– הָאֵ֑ל

hā·’êl;

וְהִתְבָּרֲכ֣וּ

wə·hiṯ·bā·ră·ḵū

and shall be blessed

בְזַרְעֲךָ֔

ḇə·zar·‘ă·ḵā,

כֹּ֖ל

kōl

גּוֹיֵ֥י

gō·w·yê

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

of the earth .

עֵ֕קֶב

‘ê·qeḇ

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

שָׁמַ֥ע

šā·ma‘

אַבְרָהָ֖ם

’aḇ·rā·hām

､ בְּקֹלִ֑י

bə·qō·lî;

My voice ､

וַיִּשְׁמֹר֙

way·yiš·mōr

and kept

､ מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֔י

miš·mar·tî,

My charge ､

､ מִצְוֺתַ֖י

miṣ·wō·ṯay

My commandments ､

､ חֻקּוֹתַ֥י

ḥuq·qō·w·ṯay

My statutes ､

. וְתוֹרֹתָֽי׃

wə·ṯō·w·rō·ṯāy.

and My laws .

Isaac Deceives Abimelech

וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב

. בִּגְרָֽר׃

וַֽיִּשְׁאֲל֞וּ

אַנְשֵׁ֤י

the men

הַמָּקוֹם֙

ham·mā·qō·wm

– לְאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ

lə·’iš·tōw,

about his wife –

､ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and he said ､

אֲחֹ֣תִי

’ă·ḥō·ṯî

､ הִ֑וא

hî

she [is] ､

כִּ֤י

יָרֵא֙

､ לֵאמֹ֣ר

to say ､

– אִשְׁתִּ֔י

’iš·tî,

[She is] my wife –

､ הַמָּקוֹם֙

מַרְאֶ֖ה

mar·’eh

. הִֽיא׃

､ וַיְהִ֗י

And it came to pass ､

אָֽרְכוּ־

､ הַיָּמִ֔ים

a long time ､

וַיַּשְׁקֵ֗ף

אֲבִימֶ֙לֶךְ֙

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים

pə·liš·tîm,

of the Philistines

בְּעַ֖ד

bə·‘aḏ

､ הַֽחַלּ֑וֹן

ha·ḥal·lō·wn;

a window ､

､ וַיַּ֗רְא

way·yar,

and saw ､

､ וְהִנֵּ֤ה

wə·hin·nêh

and there was ､

יִצְחָק֙

yiṣ·ḥāq

מְצַחֵ֔ק

mə·ṣa·ḥêq,

אֵ֖ת

רִבְקָ֥ה

. אִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃

וַיִּקְרָ֨א

way·yiq·rā

אֲבִימֶ֜לֶךְ

’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ

､ לְיִצְחָ֗ק

lə·yiṣ·ḥāq,

､ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

way·yō·mer

and said ､

אַ֣ךְ

’aḵ

､ הִנֵּ֤ה

hin·nêh

אִשְׁתְּךָ֙

’iš·tə·ḵā

! הִ֔וא

hî

she [is] !

וְאֵ֥יךְ

wə·’êḵ

so how

אָמַ֖רְתָּ

’ā·mar·tā

אֲחֹ֣תִי

’ă·ḥō·ṯî

؟ הִ֑וא

hî

she [is] ؟

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said

אֵלָיו֙

’ê·lāw

to him

､ יִצְחָ֔ק

yiṣ·ḥāq,

כִּ֣י

kî

､ אָמַ֔רְתִּי

’ā·mar·tî,

I said ､

פֶּן־

pen-

אָמ֖וּת

’ā·mūṯ

. עָלֶֽיהָ׃

‘ā·le·hā.

on account of her .

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

､ אֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ

’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ,

מַה־

mah-

what [is]

זֹּ֖את

zōṯ

עָשִׂ֣יתָ

‘ā·śî·ṯā

؟ לָּ֑נוּ

lā·nū;

to us ؟

כִּ֠מְעַט

kim·‘aṭ

שָׁכַ֞ב

šā·ḵaḇ

might have lain with

אַחַ֤ד

’a·ḥaḏ

הָעָם֙

hā·‘ām

of the people

אֶת־

’eṯ-

with

､ אִשְׁתֶּ֔ךָ

’iš·te·ḵā,

וְהֵבֵאתָ֥

wə·hê·ḇê·ṯā

and you would have brought

עָלֵ֖ינוּ

‘ā·lê·nū

on us

. אָשָֽׁם׃

’ā·šām.

וַיְצַ֣ו

way·ṣaw

אֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ

’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ,

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

כָּל־

kāl-

､ הָעָ֖ם

hā·‘ām

[his] people ､

､ לֵאמֹ֑ר

lê·mōr;

הַנֹּגֵ֜עַ

han·nō·ḡê·a‘

בָּאִ֥ישׁ

bā·’îš

הַזֶּ֛ה

haz·zeh

וּבְאִשְׁתּ֖וֹ

ū·ḇə·’iš·tōw

מ֥וֹת

mō·wṯ

. יוּמָֽת׃

yū·māṯ.

shall be put to death .

Isaac's Prosperity

וַיִּזְרַ֤ע

way·yiz·ra‘

יִצְחָק֙

yiṣ·ḥāq

בָּאָ֣רֶץ

bā·’ā·reṣ

､ הַהִ֔וא

ha·hi·w,

that ､

וַיִּמְצָ֛א

way·yim·ṣā

בַּשָּׁנָ֥ה

baš·šā·nāh

in the year

הַהִ֖וא

ha·hi·w

מֵאָ֣ה

mê·’āh

– שְׁעָרִ֑ים

šə·‘ā·rîm;

fold –

וַֽיְבָרֲכֵ֖הוּ

way·ḇā·ră·ḵê·hū

and blessed him

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וַיִּגְדַּ֖ל

way·yiḡ·dal

And began to prosper

､ הָאִ֑ישׁ

hā·’îš;

the man ､

וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ

way·yê·leḵ

and

､ הָלוֹךְ֙

hā·lō·wḵ

וְגָדֵ֔ל

wə·ḡā·ḏêl,

עַ֥ד

‘aḏ

כִּֽי־

kî-

גָדַ֖ל

ḡā·ḏal

he became prosperous

– מְאֹֽד׃

mə·’ōḏ.

very –

וַֽיְהִי־

way·hî-

ל֤וֹ

lōw

-

מִקְנֵה־

miq·nêh-

､ צֹאן֙

ṣōn

of flocks ､

וּמִקְנֵ֣ה

ū·miq·nêh

and possessions

､ בָקָ֔ר

ḇā·qār,

of herds ､

– וַעֲבֻדָּ֖ה

wa·‘ă·ḇud·dāh

and of servants –

רַבָּ֑ה

rab·bāh;

וַיְקַנְא֥וּ

way·qan·’ū

אֹת֖וֹ

’ō·ṯōw

. פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃

pə·liš·tîm.

the Philistines .

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

And all

הַבְּאֵרֹ֗ת

hab·bə·’ê·rōṯ,

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

חָֽפְרוּ֙

ḥā·p̄ə·rū

עַבְדֵ֣י

‘aḇ·ḏê

אָבִ֔יו

’ā·ḇîw,

בִּימֵ֖י

bî·mê

in the days

אַבְרָהָ֣ם

’aḇ·rā·hām

､ אָבִ֑יו

’ā·ḇîw;

סִתְּמ֣וּם

sit·tə·mūm

פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים

pə·liš·tîm,

the Philistines

וַיְמַלְא֖וּם

way·mal·’ūm

and filled them

. עָפָֽר׃

‘ā·p̄ār.

with earth .

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

אֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ

’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ יִצְחָ֑ק

yiṣ·ḥāq;

לֵ֚ךְ

lêḵ

､ מֵֽעִמָּ֔נוּ

mê·‘im·mā·nū,

from us ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

עָצַֽמְתָּ־

‘ā·ṣam·tā-

you are mightier

מִמֶּ֖נּוּ

mim·men·nū

. מְאֹֽד׃

mə·’ōḏ.

וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ

way·yê·leḵ

מִשָּׁ֖ם

miš·šām

､ יִצְחָ֑ק

yiṣ·ḥāq;

וַיִּ֥חַן

way·yi·ḥan

and pitched his tent

בְּנַֽחַל־

bə·na·ḥal-

in the Valley

､ גְּרָ֖ר

gə·rār

of Gerar ､

וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב

way·yê·šeḇ

. שָֽׁם׃

šām.

וַיָּ֨שָׁב

way·yā·šāḇ

יִצְחָ֜ק

yiṣ·ḥāq

וַיַּחְפֹּ֣ר ׀

way·yaḥ·pōr

and dug

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בְּאֵרֹ֣ת

bə·’ê·rōṯ

､ הַמַּ֗יִם

ham·ma·yim,

of water ､

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

חָֽפְרוּ֙

ḥā·p̄ə·rū

בִּימֵי֙

bî·mê

in the days

אַבְרָהָ֣ם

’aḇ·rā·hām

– אָבִ֔יו

’ā·ḇîw,

וַיְסַתְּמ֣וּם

way·sat·tə·mūm

For had stopped them up

פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים

the Philistines

אַחֲרֵ֖י

’a·ḥă·rê

– אַבְרָהָ֑ם

of Abraham –

וַיִּקְרָ֤א

and He called

לָהֶן֙

lā·hen

שֵׁמ֔וֹת

šê·mō·wṯ,

כַּשֵּׁמֹ֕ת

kaš·šê·mōṯ

by the names

אֲשֶׁר־

קָרָ֥א

qā·rā

לָהֶ֖ן

lā·hen

. אָבִֽיו׃

’ā·ḇîw.

וַיַּחְפְּר֥וּ

way·yaḥ·pə·rū

And dug

עַבְדֵֽי־

‘aḇ·ḏê-

יִצְחָ֖ק

yiṣ·ḥāq

､ בַּנָּ֑חַל

ban·nā·ḥal;

in the valley ､

וַיִּ֨מְצְאוּ־

way·yim·ṣə·’ū-

שָׁ֔ם

šām,

בְּאֵ֖ר

bə·’êr

מַ֥יִם

ma·yim

. חַיִּֽים׃

ḥay·yîm.

וַיָּרִ֜יבוּ

way·yā·rî·ḇū

גְרָ֗ר

עִם־

so he called

of the well

､ עֵ֔שֶׂק

Esek ､

כִּ֥י

הִֽתְעַשְּׂק֖וּ

. עִמּֽוֹ׃

‘im·mōw.

with him .

וַֽיַּחְפְּרוּ֙

way·yaḥ·pə·rū

בְּאֵ֣ר

bə·’êr

､ אַחֶ֔רֶת

’a·ḥe·reṯ,

וַיָּרִ֖יבוּ

way·yā·rî·ḇū

and they quarreled

､ גַּם־

gam-

also ､

עָלֶ֑יהָ

‘ā·le·hā;

over that [one]

וַיִּקְרָ֥א

way·yiq·rā

so he called

שְׁמָ֖הּ

šə·māh

. שִׂטְנָֽה׃

śiṭ·nāh.

וַיַּעְתֵּ֣ק

way·ya‘·têq

And he moved

､ מִשָּׁ֗ם

miš·šām,

וַיַּחְפֹּר֙

way·yaḥ·pōr

and dug

בְּאֵ֣ר

bə·’êr

– אַחֶ֔רֶת

’a·ḥe·reṯ,

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

רָב֖וּ

rā·ḇū

they did quarrel

､ עָלֶ֑יהָ

‘ā·le·hā;

over it ､

וַיִּקְרָ֤א

way·yiq·rā

so he called

שְׁמָהּ֙

šə·māh

– רְחֹב֔וֹת

rə·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ,

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

way·yō·mer,

and said ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

עַתָּ֞ה

‘at·tāh

הִרְחִ֧יב

hir·ḥîḇ

יְהוָ֛ה

Yah·weh

､ לָ֖נוּ

lā·nū

for us ､

וּפָרִ֥ינוּ

ū·p̄ā·rî·nū

and we shall be fruitful

. בָאָֽרֶץ׃

ḇā·’ā·reṣ.

in the land .

וַיַּ֥עַל

way·ya·‘al

And he went up

מִשָּׁ֖ם

miš·šām

בְּאֵ֥ר

bə·’êr

to

. שָֽׁבַע׃

šā·ḇa‘.

וַיֵּרָ֨א

way·yê·rā

אֵלָ֤יו

’ê·lāw

to him

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

בַּלַּ֣יְלָה

bal·lay·lāh

､ הַה֔וּא

ha·hū,

that ､

､ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said ､

אָנֹכִ֕י

’ā·nō·ḵî

I [am]

אֱלֹהֵ֖י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God

אַבְרָהָ֣ם

’aḇ·rā·hām

– אָבִ֑יךָ

’ā·ḇî·ḵā;

your father –

אַל־

’al-

not

､ תִּירָא֙

tî·rā

do fear ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

אִתְּךָ֣

’it·tə·ḵā

with you

､ אָנֹ֔כִי

’ā·nō·ḵî,

I [am] ､

וּבֵֽרַכְתִּ֙יךָ֙

ū·ḇê·raḵ·tî·ḵā

and I will bless you

וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣י

wə·hir·bê·ṯî

אֶֽת־

’eṯ-

-

､ זַרְעֲךָ֔

zar·‘ă·ḵā,

your descendants ､

בַּעֲב֖וּר

ba·‘ă·ḇūr

אַבְרָהָ֥ם

’aḇ·rā·hām

. עַבְדִּֽי׃

‘aḇ·dî.

וַיִּ֧בֶן

way·yi·ḇen

So he built

שָׁ֣ם

šām

､ מִזְבֵּ֗חַ

miz·bê·aḥ,

an altar ､

וַיִּקְרָא֙

way·yiq·rā

בְּשֵׁ֣ם

bə·šêm

on the name

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

of Yahweh ､

וַיֶּט־

way·yeṭ-

And he pitched

שָׁ֖ם

šām

– אָהֳל֑וֹ

’ā·ho·lōw;

וַיִּכְרוּ־

way·yiḵ·rū-

and dug

שָׁ֥ם

šām

עַבְדֵי־

‘aḇ·ḏê-

יִצְחָ֖ק

yiṣ·ḥāq

. בְּאֵֽר׃

bə·’êr.

a well .

Isaac's Covenant with Abimelech

וַאֲבִימֶ֕לֶךְ

wa·’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ

הָלַ֥ךְ

hā·laḵ

אֵלָ֖יו

’ê·lāw

to him

､ מִגְּרָ֑ר

mig·gə·rār;

וַאֲחֻזַּת֙

wa·’ă·ḥuz·zaṯ

､ מֵֽרֵעֵ֔הוּ

mê·rê·‘ê·hū,

his adviser ､

וּפִיכֹ֖ל

ū·p̄î·ḵōl

שַׂר־

śar-

. צְבָאֽוֹ׃

ṣə·ḇā·’ōw.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

אֲלֵהֶם֙

’ă·lê·hem

､ יִצְחָ֔ק

yiṣ·ḥāq,

מַדּ֖וּעַ

mad·dū·a‘

בָּאתֶ֣ם

bā·ṯem

､ אֵלָ֑י

’ê·lāy;

to me ､

וְאַתֶּם֙

wə·’at·tem

שְׂנֵאתֶ֣ם

śə·nê·ṯem

אֹתִ֔י

’ō·ṯî,

me

וַתְּשַׁלְּח֖וּנִי

wat·tə·šal·lə·ḥū·nî

and have sent me away

. מֵאִתְּכֶֽם׃

mê·’it·tə·ḵem.

､ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ

way·yō·mə·rū,

But they said ､

רָא֣וֹ

rā·’ōw

רָאִינוּ֮

rā·’î·nū

כִּֽי־

kî-

הָיָ֣ה

hā·yāh

is

יְהוָ֣ה ׀

Yah·weh

､ עִמָּךְ֒

‘im·māḵ

with you ､

､ וַנֹּ֗אמֶר

wan·nō·mer,

So we said ､

תְּהִ֨י

tə·hî

there should be

נָ֥א

nā

אָלָ֛ה

’ā·lāh

בֵּינוֹתֵ֖ינוּ

bê·nō·w·ṯê·nū

between [two parties]

בֵּינֵ֣ינוּ

bê·nê·nū

､ וּבֵינֶ֑ךָ

ū·ḇê·ne·ḵā;

and between you ､

וְנִכְרְתָ֥ה

wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh

and let us make

בְרִ֖ית

ḇə·rîṯ

､ עִמָּֽךְ׃

‘im·māḵ.

with you ､

אִם־

’im-

תַּעֲשֵׂ֨ה‪‬

ta·‘ă·śêh

you will do

עִמָּ֜נוּ

‘im·mā·nū

us

､ רָעָ֗ה

rā·‘āh,

[no] harm ､

כַּאֲשֶׁר֙

ka·’ă·šer

לֹ֣א

lō

not

､ נְגַֽעֲנ֔וּךָ

nə·ḡa·‘ă·nū·ḵā,

we have touched you ､

וְכַאֲשֶׁ֨ר

wə·ḵa·’ă·šer

עָשִׂ֤ינוּ

‘ā·śî·nū

עִמְּךָ֙

‘im·mə·ḵā

to you

רַק־

raq-

､ ט֔וֹב

ṭō·wḇ,

good ､

וַנְּשַׁלֵּֽחֲךָ֖

wan·nə·šal·lê·ḥă·ḵā

and have sent you away

. בְּשָׁל֑וֹם

bə·šā·lō·wm;

in peace .

אַתָּ֥ה

’at·tāh

עַתָּ֖ה

‘at·tāh

בְּר֥וּךְ

bə·rūḵ

! יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וַיַּ֤עַשׂ

way·ya·‘aś

so he made

לָהֶם֙

lā·hem

､ מִשְׁתֶּ֔ה

miš·teh,

a feast ､

וַיֹּאכְל֖וּ

way·yō·ḵə·lū

. וַיִּשְׁתּֽוּ׃

way·yiš·tū.

and drank .

וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣ימוּ

way·yaš·kî·mū

And they arose early

､ בַבֹּ֔קֶר

ḇab·bō·qer,

in the morning ､

וַיִּשָּׁבְע֖וּ

way·yiš·šā·ḇə·‘ū

and swore an oath

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

– לְאָחִ֑יו

lə·’ā·ḥîw;

with another –

וַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֣ם

way·šal·lə·ḥêm

and sent them away

､ יִצְחָ֔ק

yiṣ·ḥāq,

וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ

way·yê·lə·ḵū

and they departed

מֵאִתּ֖וֹ

mê·’it·tōw

. בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃

bə·šā·lō·wm.

in peace .

וַיְהִ֣י ׀

way·hî

And it came to pass

בַּיּ֣וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on day

הַה֗וּא

ha·hū,

וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

עַבְדֵ֣י

‘aḇ·ḏê

יִצְחָ֔ק

yiṣ·ḥāq,

וַיַּגִּ֣דוּ

way·yag·gi·ḏū

and told

ל֔וֹ

lōw,

עַל־

‘al-

אֹד֥וֹת

’ō·ḏō·wṯ

הַבְּאֵ֖ר

hab·bə·’êr

of the well

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

– חָפָ֑רוּ

ḥā·p̄ā·rū;

they had dug –

וַיֹּ֥אמְרוּ

way·yō·mə·rū

and said

､ ל֖וֹ

lōw

to him ､

מָצָ֥אנוּ

mā·ṣā·nū

. מָֽיִם׃

mā·yim.

וַיִּקְרָ֥א

way·yiq·rā

So he called

אֹתָ֖הּ

’ō·ṯāh

it

– שִׁבְעָ֑ה

šiḇ·‘āh;

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֤ן

kên

שֵׁם־

šêm-

the name

הָעִיר֙

hā·‘îr

of the city [is]

בְּאֵ֣ר

bə·’êr

שֶׁ֔בַע

še·ḇa‘,

עַ֖ד

‘aḏ

to

הַיּ֥וֹם

hay·yō·wm

. הַזֶּֽה׃

haz·zeh.
