וַעֲשֵׂה־

wa·‘ă·śêh-

and make

שָׁ֣ם

מִזְבֵּ֔חַ

miz·bê·aḥ,

､ לָאֵל֙

lā·’êl

to God ､

הַנִּרְאֶ֣ה

han·nir·’eh

אֵלֶ֔יךָ

’ê·le·ḵā,

to you

בְּבָרְחֲךָ֔‪‬

bə·ḇā·rə·ḥă·ḵā,

מִפְּנֵ֖י

mip·pə·nê

עֵשָׂ֥ו

‘ê·śāw

. אָחִֽיךָ׃

’ā·ḥî·ḵā.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

יַעֲקֹב֙

ya·‘ă·qōḇ

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ בֵּית֔וֹ

bê·ṯōw,

his household ､

וְאֶ֖ל

wə·’el

and to

כָּל־

kāl-

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

､ עִמּ֑וֹ

‘im·mōw;

with him ､

הָסִ֜רוּ

hā·si·rū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֱלֹהֵ֤י

’ĕ·lō·hê

הַנֵּכָר֙

han·nê·ḵār

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

､ בְּתֹכְכֶ֔ם

bə·ṯō·ḵə·ḵem,

､ וְהִֽטַּהֲר֔וּ

wə·hiṭ·ṭa·hă·rū,

and purify yourselves ､

וְהַחֲלִ֖יפוּ

wə·ha·ḥă·lî·p̄ū

– שִׂמְלֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

śim·lō·ṯê·ḵem.

your garments –

､ וְנָק֥וּמָה

wə·nā·qū·māh

Then let us arise ､

וְנַעֲלֶ֖ה

wə·na·‘ă·leh

and go up to

בֵּֽית־

bêṯ-

-

– אֵ֑ל

’êl;

וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־

wə·’e·‘ĕ·śeh-

and I will make

שָּׁ֣ם

šām

מִזְבֵּ֗חַ

miz·bê·aḥ,

､ לָאֵ֞ל

lā·’êl

to God ､

הָעֹנֶ֤ה

hā·‘ō·neh

אֹתִי֙

’ō·ṯî

me

בְּי֣וֹם

bə·yō·wm

in the day

､ צָֽרָתִ֔י

ṣā·rā·ṯî,

of my distress ､

וַיְהִי֙

way·hî

עִמָּדִ֔י

‘im·mā·ḏî,

with me

בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ

bad·de·reḵ

in the way

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

. הָלָֽכְתִּי׃

hā·lā·ḵə·tî.

וַיִּתְּנ֣וּ

way·yit·tə·nū

אֶֽל־

’el-

יַעֲקֹ֗ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ,

אֵ֣ת

כָּל־

kāl-

אֱלֹהֵ֤י

הַנֵּכָר֙

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

､ בְּיָדָ֔ם

in their hands ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

הַנְּזָמִ֖ים

han·nə·zā·mîm

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

– בְּאָזְנֵיהֶ֑ם

bə·’ā·zə·nê·hem;

in their ears –

וַיִּטְמֹ֤ן

way·yiṭ·mōn

and hid

אֹתָם֙

’ō·ṯām

יַעֲקֹ֔ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ,

תַּ֥חַת

ta·ḥaṯ

הָאֵלָ֖ה

hā·’ê·lāh

the terebinth [tree]

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

עִם־

‘im-

by

. שְׁכֶֽם׃

šə·ḵem.

､ וַיִּסָּ֑עוּ

way·yis·sā·‘ū;

And they journeyed ､

וַיְהִ֣י ׀

way·hî

and was

חִתַּ֣ת

ḥit·taṯ

אֱלֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

of God

עַל־

‘al-

הֶֽעָרִים֙

he·‘ā·rîm

אֲשֶׁר֙

’ă·šer

､ סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם

sə·ḇî·ḇō·ṯê·hem,

all around them ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

רָֽדְפ֔וּ

rā·ḏə·p̄ū,

they did pursue

אַחֲרֵ֖י

’a·ḥă·rê

בְּנֵ֥י

bə·nê

the sons

. יַעֲקֹֽב׃

ya·‘ă·qōḇ.

of Jacob .

וַיָּבֹ֨א

way·yā·ḇō

יַעֲקֹ֜ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ

､ ל֗וּזָה

lū·zāh,

to Luz ､

אֲשֶׁר֙

’ă·šer

which [is]

בְּאֶ֣רֶץ

bə·’e·reṣ

in the land

､ כְּנַ֔עַן

kə·na·‘an,

of Canaan ､

הִ֖וא

hî

that [is]

בֵּֽית־

bêṯ-

in

､ אֵ֑ל

’êl;

ה֖וּא

hū

he

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

and all

הָעָ֥ם

hā·‘ām

אֲשֶׁר־

. עִמּֽוֹ׃

with him .

וַיִּ֤בֶן

And he built

an altar ､

וַיִּקְרָא֙

way·yiq·rā

לַמָּק֔וֹם

lam·mā·qō·wm,

אֵ֖ל

､ אֵ֑ל

’êl;

כִּ֣י

שָׁ֗ם

נִגְל֤וּ

אֵלָיו֙

to him

､ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים

God ､

בְּבָרְח֖וֹ

מִפְּנֵ֥י

. אָחִֽיו׃

And died

､ דְּבֹרָה֙

of Rebekah ､

וַתִּקָּבֵ֛ר

and she was buried

מִתַּ֥חַת

לְבֵֽית־

– הָֽאַלּ֑וֹן

so He called

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

וַיֹּאמֶר֩

And said

to him

､ אֱלֹהִ֜ים

God ､

אֲנִ֨י

I [am]

אֵ֤ל

– שַׁדַּי֙

šad·day

פְּרֵ֣ה

– וּרְבֵ֔ה

and multiply –

גּ֛וֹי

וּקְהַ֥ל

ū·qə·hal

גּוֹיִ֖ם

gō·w·yim

יִהְיֶ֣ה

yih·yeh

､ מִמֶּ֑ךָּ

mim·me·kā;

וּמְלָכִ֖ים

ū·mə·lā·ḵîm

מֵחֲלָצֶ֥יךָ

mê·ḥă·lā·ṣe·ḵā

from your loins

. יֵצֵֽאוּ׃

yê·ṣê·’ū.

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

And

הָאָ֗רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ,

the land

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

נָתַ֛תִּי

nā·ṯat·tî

לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם

lə·’aḇ·rā·hām

､ וּלְיִצְחָ֖ק

ū·lə·yiṣ·ḥāq

and Isaac ､

לְךָ֣

lə·ḵā

to you

､ אֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה

’et·tə·nen·nāh;

I give ､

וּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֥

ū·lə·zar·‘ă·ḵā

and to your descendants

אַחֲרֶ֖יךָ

’a·ḥă·re·ḵā

אֶתֵּ֥ן

’et·tên

אֶת־

’eṯ-

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

the land .

וַיַּ֥עַל

way·ya·‘al

And went up

מֵעָלָ֖יו

mê·‘ā·lāw

אֱלֹהִ֑ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm;

בַּמָּק֖וֹם

bam·mā·qō·wm

in the place

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

דִּבֶּ֥ר

So set up

maṣ·ṣê·ḇāh,

בַּמָּק֛וֹם

bam·mā·qō·wm

in the place

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

דִּבֶּ֥ר

dib·ber

､ אִתּ֖וֹ

’it·tōw

with him ､

מַצֶּ֣בֶת

maṣ·ṣe·ḇeṯ

. אָ֑בֶן

’ā·ḇen;

of stone .

וַיַּסֵּ֤ךְ

way·yas·sêḵ

And he poured

עָלֶ֙יהָ֙

‘ā·le·hā

on it

､ נֶ֔סֶךְ

ne·seḵ,

a drink offering ､

וַיִּצֹ֥ק

way·yi·ṣōq

and he poured

עָלֶ֖יהָ

‘ā·le·hā

on it

. שָֽׁמֶן׃

וַיִּקְרָ֨א

way·yiq·rā

יַעֲקֹ֜ב

and was difficult

. בְּלִדְתָּֽהּ׃

､ וַיְהִ֥י

And it came to pass ､

בְהַקְשֹׁתָ֖הּ

ḇə·haq·šō·ṯāh

when she was hard

､ בְּלִדְתָּ֑הּ

bə·liḏ·tāh;

in labor ､

וַתֹּ֨אמֶר

wat·tō·mer

לָ֤הּ

lāh

to her

､ הַמְיַלֶּ֙דֶת֙

ham·yal·le·ḏeṯ

the midwife ､

אַל־

’al-

not

､ תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י

tî·rə·’î,

do fear ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

גַם־

זֶ֥ה

this [shall be]

And it came to pass ､

בִּשְׁכֹּ֤ן

､ הַהִ֔וא

ha·hi·w,

that ､

וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ

רְאוּבֵ֔ן

וַיִּשְׁכַּ֕ב֙

way·yiš·kaḇ

and lay with

אֶת־

’eṯ-

､ בִּלְהָ֖ה֙

פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ

､ אָבִ֑֔יו

’ā·ḇîw,

of his father ､

וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע

and heard [about it]

､ יִשְׂרָאֵֽ֑ל

of Jacob ､

､ וְשִׁמְעוֹן֙

and Simeon ､

､ וְלֵוִ֣י

wə·lê·wî

and Levi ､

､ וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה

wî·hū·ḏāh,

and Judah ､

､ וְיִשָּׂשכָ֖ר

wə·yiś·śā·š·ḵār

and Issachar ､

– וּזְבוּלֻֽן׃

ū·zə·ḇū·lun.

and Zebulun –

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

: רָחֵ֔ל

rā·ḥêl,

of Rachel [were] :

יוֹסֵ֖ף

yō·w·sêp̄

– וּבִנְיָמִֽן׃

ū·ḇin·yā·min.

and Benjamin –

וּבְנֵ֤י

ū·ḇə·nê

and the sons

､ בִלְהָה֙

ḇil·hāh

of Bilhah ､

שִׁפְחַ֣ת

šip̄·ḥaṯ

: רָחֵ֔ל

rā·ḥêl,

of Rachel [were] :

דָּ֖ן

dān

– וְנַפְתָּלִֽי׃

wə·nap̄·tā·lî.

and Naphtali –

וּבְנֵ֥י

ū·ḇə·nê

and the sons

､ זִלְפָּ֛ה

zil·pāh

of Zilpah ､

שִׁפְחַ֥ת

šip̄·ḥaṯ

: לֵאָ֖ה

lê·’āh

of Leah [were] :

גָּ֣ד

gāḏ

. וְאָשֵׁ֑ר

wə·’ā·šêr;

and Asher .

אֵ֚לֶּה

’êl·leh

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

､ יַעֲקֹ֔ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ,

of Jacob ､

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

יֻלַּד־

yul·laḏ-

The Death of Isaac

וַיָּבֹ֤א

And came

yiṣ·ḥāq

אָבִ֔יו

’ā·ḇîw,

､ מַמְרֵ֖א

mam·rê

at Mamre ､

קִרְיַ֣ת

qir·yaṯ

-

､ הָֽאַרְבַּ֑ע

hā·’ar·ba‘;

near Kiriath-arba ､

הִ֣וא

hî

that [is]

､ חֶבְר֔וֹן

ḥeḇ·rō·wn,

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

. גָּֽר־

gār-

שָׁ֥ם

šām

אַבְרָהָ֖ם

’aḇ·rā·hām

. וְיִצְחָֽק׃

wə·yiṣ·ḥāq.

and Isaac .

וַיִּֽהְי֖וּ

way·yih·yū

And were

יְמֵ֣י

yə·mê

the days

יִצְחָ֑ק

yiṣ·ḥāq;

מְאַ֥ת

mə·’aṯ

שָׁנָ֖ה

šā·nāh

וּשְׁמֹנִ֥ים

ū·šə·mō·nîm

. שָׁנָֽה׃

šā·nāh.

וַיִּגְוַ֨ע

way·yiḡ·wa‘

So breathed his last

יִצְחָ֤ק

yiṣ·ḥāq

､ וַיָּ֙מָת֙

way·yā·māṯ

and died ､

וַיֵּאָ֣סֶף

way·yê·’ā·sep̄

and was gathered

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ עַמָּ֔יו

‘am·māw,

זָקֵ֖ן

zā·qên

וּשְׂבַ֣ע

ū·śə·ḇa‘

and full

– יָמִ֑ים

yā·mîm;

of days –

וַיִּקְבְּר֣וּ
