And it came to pass ､

כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר

כִּלּוּ֙

they had finished

לֶאֱכֹ֣ל

אֶת־

הַשֶּׁ֔בֶר

haš·še·ḇer,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

הֵבִ֖יאוּ

hê·ḇî·’ū

they had brought

מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם

mim·miṣ·rā·yim;

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

way·yō·mer

אֲלֵיהֶם֙

’ă·lê·hem

אֲבִיהֶ֔ם

’ă·ḇî·hem,

､ שֻׁ֖בוּ

go back ､

שִׁבְרוּ־

לָ֥נוּ

מְעַט־

וַיֹּ֧אמֶר

הָאִ֤ישׁ

the man

､ לֵאמֹר֙

lê·mōr

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

תִרְא֣וּ

ṯir·’ū

､ פָנַ֔י

p̄ā·nay,

my face ､

בִּלְתִּ֖י

bil·tî

אֲחִיכֶ֥ם

’ă·ḥî·ḵem

your brother [is]

. אִתְּכֶֽם׃

’it·tə·ḵem.

with you .

אִם־

’im-

If

יֶשְׁךָ֛

yeš·ḵā

מְשַׁלֵּ֥חַ

mə·šal·lê·aḥ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אָחִ֖ינוּ

’ā·ḥî·nū

､ אִתָּ֑נוּ

’it·tā·nū;

with us ､

נֵרְדָ֕ה

nê·rə·ḏāh

we will go down

וְנִשְׁבְּרָ֥ה

wə·niš·bə·rāh

and buy

לְךָ֖

lə·ḵā

. אֹֽכֶל׃

’ō·ḵel.

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

But if

אֵינְךָ֥

’ê·nə·ḵā

not

､ מְשַׁלֵּ֖חַ

mə·šal·lê·aḥ

you will send [him] ､

לֹ֣א

lō

not

､ נֵרֵ֑ד

nê·rêḏ;

we will go down ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

הָאִ֞ישׁ

hā·’îš

the man

אָמַ֤ר

’ā·mar

､ אֵלֵ֙ינוּ֙

’ê·lê·nū

to us ､

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

תִרְא֣וּ

ṯir·’ū

､ פָנַ֔י

p̄ā·nay,

my face ､

בִּלְתִּ֖י

bil·tî

אֲחִיכֶ֥ם

’ă·ḥî·ḵem

your brother [is]

. אִתְּכֶֽם׃

’it·tə·ḵem.

with you .

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

way·yō·mer

And said

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

לָמָ֥ה

lā·māh

הֲרֵעֹתֶ֖ם

hă·rê·‘ō·ṯem

לִ֑י

lî;

to me

לְהַגִּ֣יד

lə·hag·gîḏ

[as] to tell

､ לָאִ֔ישׁ

lā·’îš,

the man ､

הַע֥וֹד

ha·‘ō·wḏ

לָכֶ֖ם

lā·ḵem

to you

؟ אָֽח׃

’āḥ.

､ וַיֹּאמְר֡וּ

way·yō·mə·rū

but they said ､

שָׁא֣וֹל

šā·’ō·wl

שָֽׁאַל־

šā·’al-

הָ֠אִישׁ

hā·’îš

the man

לָ֣נוּ

lā·nū

about ourselves

､ וּלְמֽוֹלַדְתֵּ֜נוּ

ū·lə·mō·w·laḏ·tê·nū

and our family ､

､ לֵאמֹ֗ר

lê·mōr,

הַע֨וֹד

ha·‘ō·wḏ

[Is] still

אֲבִיכֶ֥ם

’ă·ḇî·ḵem

؟ חַי֙

ḥay

הֲיֵ֣שׁ

hă·yêš

לָכֶ֣ם

lā·ḵem

؟ אָ֔ח

’āḥ,

וַנַ֨גֶּד־

wa·nag·geḏ-

and we told

ל֔וֹ‪‬

lōw,

עַל־

‘al-

פִּ֖י

pî

. הַדְּבָרִ֣ים

had·də·ḇā·rîm

the words .

､ הָאֵ֑לֶּה

hā·’êl·leh;

הֲיָד֣וֹעַ

hă·yā·ḏō·w·a‘

נֵדַ֔ע

nê·ḏa‘,

כִּ֣י

kî

､ יֹאמַ֔ר

yō·mar,

he would say ､

הוֹרִ֖ידוּ

hō·w·rî·ḏū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

؟ אֲחִיכֶֽם׃

’ă·ḥî·ḵem.

your brother ؟

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said

יְהוּדָ֜ה

yə·hū·ḏāh

אֶל־

’el-

to

יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל

yiś·rā·’êl

､ אָבִ֗יו

’ā·ḇîw,

שִׁלְחָ֥ה

šil·ḥāh

הַנַּ֛עַר

han·na·‘ar

the boy

､ אִתִּ֖י

’it·tî

with me ､

וְנָק֣וּמָה

wə·nā·qū·māh

and we will arise

– וְנֵלֵ֑כָה

wə·nê·lê·ḵāh;

and go –

､ וְנִֽחְיֶה֙

wə·niḥ·yeh

that we may live ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

､ נָמ֔וּת

nā·mūṯ,

die ､

גַּם־

gam-

､ אֲנַ֥חְנוּ

’ă·naḥ·nū

we ､

גַם־

ḡam-

and

､ אַתָּ֖ה

’at·tāh

you ､

גַּם־

gam-

[and] also

. טַפֵּֽנוּ׃

ṭap·pê·nū.

our little ones .

אָֽנֹכִי֙

’ā·nō·ḵî

I

אֶֽעֶרְבֶ֔נּוּ

’e·‘er·ḇen·nū,

מִיָּדִ֖י

mî·yā·ḏî

תְּבַקְשֶׁ֑נּוּ

tə·ḇaq·šen·nū;

Shall you require

אִם־

’im-

if

לֹ֨א

lō

not

הֲבִיאֹתִ֤יו

hă·ḇî·’ō·ṯîw

I bring him [back]

אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙

’ê·le·ḵā

to you

וְהִצַּגְתִּ֣יו

wə·hiṣ·ṣaḡ·tîw

､ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā,

וְחָטָ֥אתִֽי

wə·ḥā·ṭā·ṯî

then let bear the blame

לְךָ֖

– הַיָּמִֽים׃

hay·yā·mîm.

לוּלֵ֣א

if not

､ הִתְמַהְמָ֑הְנוּ

hiṯ·mah·mā·hə·nū;

we had lingered ､

כִּֽי־

עַתָּ֥ה

by now

שַׁ֖בְנוּ

we would have returned

זֶ֥ה

. פַעֲמָֽיִם׃

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

And said

אֲלֵהֶ֜ם

יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל

､ אֲבִיהֶ֗ם

their father ､

אִם־

if

כֵּ֣ן ׀

so

､ אֵפוֹא֮

then ､

– עֲשׂוּ֒

קְח֞וּ

מִזִּמְרַ֤ת

miz·zim·raṯ

of the best fruits

הָאָ֙רֶץ֙

hā·’ā·reṣ

of the land

､ בִּכְלֵיכֶ֔ם

biḵ·lê·ḵem,

in your vessels ､

וְהוֹרִ֥ידוּ

wə·hō·w·rî·ḏū

לָאִ֖ישׁ

lā·’îš

､ מִנְחָ֑ה

min·ḥāh;

מְעַ֤ט

mə·‘aṭ

､ צֳרִי֙

ṣo·rî

balm ､

וּמְעַ֣ט

ū·mə·‘aṭ

and a little

､ דְּבַ֔שׁ

də·ḇaš,

､ נְכֹ֣את

nə·ḵōṯ

､ וָלֹ֔ט

wā·lōṭ,

and myrrh ､

､ בָּטְנִ֖ים

bā·ṭə·nîm

. וּשְׁקֵדִֽים׃

ū·šə·qê·ḏîm.

וְכֶ֥סֶף

wə·ḵe·sep̄

מִשְׁנֶ֖ה

miš·neh

קְח֣וּ

qə·ḥū

– בְיֶדְכֶ֑ם

ḇə·yeḏ·ḵem;

in your hand –

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

הַכֶּ֜סֶף

hak·ke·sep̄

הַמּוּשָׁ֨ב

ham·mū·šāḇ

that was returned

בְּפִ֤י

bə·p̄î

in the mouth

､ אַמְתְּחֹֽתֵיכֶם֙

’am·tə·ḥō·ṯê·ḵem

of your sacks ､

תָּשִׁ֣יבוּ

. בְיֶדְכֶ֔ם

אוּלַ֥י

’ū·lay

מִשְׁגֶּ֖ה

. הֽוּא׃

it [was] .

וְאֶת־

And

your brother ､

קָ֑חוּ

､ וְק֖וּמוּ

and arise ､

שׁ֥וּבוּ

to

– הָאִֽישׁ׃

the man –

וְאֵ֣ל

and God

שַׁדַּ֗י

šad·day,

יִתֵּ֨ן

yit·tên

לָכֶ֤ם

רַחֲמִים֙

ra·ḥă·mîm

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

､ הָאִ֔ישׁ

hā·’îš,

the man ､

וְשִׁלַּ֥ח

wə·šil·laḥ

that he may release

לָכֶ֛ם

lā·ḵem

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֲחִיכֶ֥ם

､ אַחֵ֖ר

’a·ḥêr

וְאֶת־

and

And I

I am bereaved .

וַיִּקְח֤וּ

הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙

the men

הַמִּנְחָ֣ה

ham·min·ḥāh

､ הַזֹּ֔את

haz·zōṯ,

this ､

וּמִשְׁנֶה־

ū·miš·neh-

כֶּ֛סֶף

לָקְח֥וּ

lā·qə·ḥū

､ בְיָדָ֖ם

ḇə·yā·ḏām

in their hand ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

– בִּנְיָמִ֑ן

､ וַיָּקֻ֙מוּ֙

and arose ､

וַיֵּרְד֣וּ

､ מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

to Egypt ､

וַיַּֽעַמְד֖וּ

way·ya·‘am·ḏū

לִפְנֵ֥י

､ הַבָּ֑יְתָה

to my home ､

וּטְבֹ֤חַ

､ טֶ֙בַח֙

– וְהָכֵ֔ן

wə·hā·ḵên,

and make ready –

כִּ֥י

kî

אִתִּ֛י

’it·tî

with me

יֹאכְל֥וּ

yō·ḵə·lū

will dine

הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

. בַּֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃

baṣ·ṣā·ho·rā·yim.

at noon .

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ

way·ya·‘aś

And did

הָאִ֔ישׁ

hā·’îš,

the man

כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר

ka·’ă·šer

as

אָמַ֣ר

’ā·mar

– יוֹסֵ֑ף

yō·w·sêp̄;

וַיָּבֵ֥א

way·yā·ḇê

הָאִ֛ישׁ

hā·’îš

the man

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים

the men

And were afraid

the men ､

they were brought

– יוֹסֵף֒

of Joseph –

､ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ

And they said ､

עַל־

‘al-

[it is] because

הַשָּׁ֤ב

which was returned

בְּאַמְתְּחֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙

בַּתְּחִלָּ֔ה

bat·tə·ḥil·lāh,

אֲנַ֖חְנוּ

’ă·naḥ·nū

we

､ מֽוּבָאִ֑ים

mū·ḇā·’îm;

that are brought in ､

לְהִתְגֹּלֵ֤ל

lə·hiṯ·gō·lêl

that he may assault

עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙

‘ā·lê·nū

וּלְהִתְנַפֵּ֣ל

ū·lə·hiṯ·nap·pêl

and fall

עָלֵ֔ינוּ

‘ā·lê·nū,

וְלָקַ֧חַת

wə·lā·qa·ḥaṯ

and to take

אֹתָ֛נוּ

’ō·ṯā·nū

us

､ לַעֲבָדִ֖ים

la·‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm

as slaves ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and with

. חֲמֹרֵֽינוּ׃

ḥă·mō·rê·nū.

וַֽיִּגְּשׁוּ֙

way·yig·gə·šū

And they drew near

אֶל־

’el-

to

הָאִ֔ישׁ

hā·’îš,

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

עַל־

of

בֵּ֣ית

､ יוֹסֵ֑ף

of Joseph ､

and they talked

אֵלָ֖יו

with him

at the door

. הַבָּֽיִת׃

of the house .

､ וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ

and said ､

בִּ֣י

､ אֲדֹנִ֑י

’ă·ḏō·nî;

sir ､

יָרֹ֥ד

yā·rōḏ

יָרַ֛דְנוּ

yā·raḏ·nū

בַּתְּחִלָּ֖ה

לִשְׁבָּר־

to buy

. אֹֽכֶל׃

､ וַֽיְהִ֞י

way·hî

But it came to pass ､

כִּי־

kî-

בָ֣אנוּ

ḇā·nū

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ הַמָּל֗וֹן

ham·mā·lō·wn,

the encampment ､

וַֽנִּפְתְּחָה֙

wan·nip̄·tə·ḥāh

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ אַמְתְּחֹתֵ֔ינוּ

’am·tə·ḥō·ṯê·nū,

､ וְהִנֵּ֤ה

wə·hin·nêh

and there ､

כֶֽסֶף־

ḵe·sep̄-

אִישׁ֙

’îš

בְּפִ֣י

bə·p̄î

in the mouth

､ אַמְתַּחְתּ֔וֹ

’am·taḥ·tōw,

of his sack ､

כַּסְפֵּ֖נוּ

kas·pê·nū

. בְּמִשְׁקָל֑וֹ

bə·miš·qā·lōw;

in full weight .

וַנָּ֥שֶׁב

wan·nā·šeḇ

So we have brought back

אֹת֖וֹ

’ō·ṯōw

it

. בְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃

bə·yā·ḏê·nū.

וְכֶ֧סֶף

wə·ḵe·sep̄

אַחֵ֛ר

’a·ḥêr

הוֹרַ֥דְנוּ

hō·w·raḏ·nū

we have brought down

בְיָדֵ֖נוּ

ḇə·yā·ḏê·nū

לִשְׁבָּר־

liš·bār-

to buy

– אֹ֑כֶל

’ō·ḵel;

food –

לֹ֣א

lō

not

יָדַ֔עְנוּ

yā·ḏa‘·nū,

we do know

מִי־

mî-

שָׂ֥ם

śām

כַּסְפֵּ֖נוּ

kas·pê·nū

. בְּאַמְתְּחֹתֵֽינוּ׃

bə·’am·tə·ḥō·ṯê·nū.

､ וַיֹּאמֶר֩

way·yō·mer

But he said ､

שָׁל֨וֹם

šā·lō·wm

Peace [be]

לָכֶ֜ם

lā·ḵem

with you

אַל־

’al-

Not

– תִּירָ֗אוּ

tî·rā·’ū,

do be afraid –

אֱלֹ֨הֵיכֶ֜ם

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem

וֵֽאלֹהֵ֤י

wê·lō·hê

and the God

､ אֲבִיכֶם֙

’ă·ḇî·ḵem

of your father ､

נָתַ֨ן

nā·ṯan

לָכֶ֤ם

lā·ḵem

מַטְמוֹן֙

maṭ·mō·wn

– בְּאַמְתְּחֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם

bə·’am·tə·ḥō·ṯê·ḵem,

in your sacks –

. כַּסְפְּכֶ֖ם

kas·pə·ḵem

בָּ֣א

bā

. אֵלָ֑י

’ê·lāy;

I .

וַיּוֹצֵ֥א

way·yō·w·ṣê

And he brought out

אֲלֵהֶ֖ם

’ă·lê·hem

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

. שִׁמְעֽוֹן׃

šim·‘ō·wn.

וַיָּבֵ֥א

way·yā·ḇê

הָאִ֛ישׁ

hā·’îš

the man

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

the men

､ בֵּ֣יתָה

bê·ṯāh

יוֹסֵ֑ף

yō·w·sêp̄;

וַיִּתֶּן־

way·yit·ten-

and gave [them]

､ מַ֙יִם֙

ma·yim

וַיִּרְחֲצ֣וּ

way·yir·ḥă·ṣū

and they washed

– רַגְלֵיהֶ֔ם

raḡ·lê·hem,

וַיִּתֵּ֥ן

way·yit·tên

and he gave

מִסְפּ֖וֹא

mis·pō·w

. לַחֲמֹֽרֵיהֶֽם׃

la·ḥă·mō·rê·hem.

unto their donkeys .

וַיָּכִ֙ינוּ֙

way·yā·ḵî·nū

And they made ready

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַמִּנְחָ֔ה

ham·min·ḥāh,

the gift

עַד־

‘aḏ-

בּ֥וֹא

bō·w

יוֹסֵ֖ף

yō·w·sêp̄

– בַּֽצָּהֳרָ֑יִם

baṣ·ṣā·ho·rā·yim;

at noon –

כִּ֣י

kî

שָֽׁמְע֔וּ

šā·mə·‘ū,

כִּי־

kî-

שָׁ֖ם

šām

יֹ֥אכְלוּ

yō·ḵə·lū

. לָֽחֶם׃

lā·ḥem.

וַיָּבֹ֤א

way·yā·ḇō

יוֹסֵף֙

yō·w·sêp̄

､ הַבַּ֔יְתָה

hab·bay·ṯāh,

home ､

וַיָּבִ֥יאּוּ

way·yā·ḇî’·’ū

then they brought

ל֛וֹ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַמִּנְחָ֥ה

ham·min·ḥāh

the gift

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

בְּיָדָ֖ם

bə·yā·ḏām

､ הַבָּ֑יְתָה

hab·bā·yə·ṯāh;

into the house ､

וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ־

way·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū-

ל֖וֹ

. אָֽרְצָה׃

’ā·rə·ṣāh.

to the ground .

וַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל

way·yiš·’al

And he asked

לָהֶם֙

lā·hem

､ לְשָׁל֔וֹם

lə·šā·lō·wm,

if they were well ､

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

way·yō·mer,

and said ､

הֲשָׁל֛וֹם

hă·šā·lō·wm

[Is] well

､ אֲבִיכֶ֥ם

’ă·ḇî·ḵem

your father ､

הַזָּקֵ֖ן

haz·zā·qên

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

؟ אֲמַרְתֶּ֑ם

’ă·mar·tem;

הַעוֹדֶ֖נּוּ

ha·‘ō·w·ḏen·nū

[Is] he still

؟ חָֽי׃

ḥāy.

､ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ

way·yō·mə·rū,

and they answered ､

､ שָׁל֛וֹם

šā·lō·wm

in good health ､

לְעַבְדְּךָ֥

lə·‘aḇ·də·ḵā

לְאָבִ֖ינוּ

lə·’ā·ḇî·nū

our father [is]

､ עוֹדֶ֣נּוּ

he [is] still ､

. חָ֑י

ḥāy;

､ וַֽיִּקְּד֖וּ

way·yiq·qə·ḏū

And they bowed down their heads ､

[וישתחו]

way·yiš·ta·ḥū

-

. (וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּֽוּ׃‪‬‪‬)

way·yiš·ta·ḥăw·wū

and prostrated themselves .

וַיִּשָּׂ֣א

way·yiś·śā

And he lifted

､ עֵינָ֗יו

‘ê·nāw,

וַיַּ֞רְא

way·yar

and saw

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בִּנְיָמִ֣ין

bin·yā·mîn

､ אָחִיו֮

’ā·ḥîw

his brother ､

בֶּן־

ben-

､ אִמּוֹ֒

’im·mōw

of his mother ､

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

way·yō·mer,

and said ､

הֲזֶה֙

hă·zeh

[Is] this

אֲחִיכֶ֣ם

’ă·ḥî·ḵem

､ הַקָּטֹ֔ן

haq·qā·ṭōn,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

אֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם

’ă·mar·tem

؟ אֵלָ֑י

’ê·lāy;

to me ؟

､ וַיֹּאמַ֕ר

way·yō·mar

and he said ､

אֱלֹהִ֥ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

יָחְנְךָ֖

yā·ḥə·nə·ḵā

be gracious to you

! בְּנִֽי׃

bə·nî.

my son !

וַיְמַהֵ֣ר

way·ma·hêr

､ יוֹסֵ֗ף

yō·w·sêp̄,

כִּֽי־

kî-

נִכְמְר֤וּ

niḵ·mə·rū

רַחֲמָיו֙

ra·ḥă·māw

אֶל־

’el-

､ אָחִ֔יו

’ā·ḥîw,

his brother ､

וַיְבַקֵּ֖שׁ

way·ḇaq·qêš

and he sought

– לִבְכּ֑וֹת

liḇ·kō·wṯ;

to weep –

וַיָּבֹ֥א

way·yā·ḇō

and he went

､ הַחַ֖דְרָה

ha·ḥaḏ·rāh

into [his] chamber ､

וַיֵּ֥בְךְּ

way·yê·ḇək

and wept

. שָֽׁמָּה׃

šām·māh.

וַיִּרְחַ֥ץ

way·yir·ḥaṣ

And he washed

､ פָּנָ֖יו

pā·nāw

､ וַיֵּצֵ֑א

way·yê·ṣê;

and came out ､

､ וַיִּ֨תְאַפַּ֔ק

way·yiṯ·’ap·paq,

and he restrained himself ､

､ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said ､

שִׂ֥ימוּ

śî·mū

. לָֽחֶם׃

lā·ḥem.

the bread .

וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ

way·yā·śî·mū

So they set a place

ל֛וֹ

lōw

､ לְבַדּ֖וֹ

lə·ḇad·dōw

by himself ､

וְלָהֶ֣ם

wə·lā·hem

and them

､ לְבַדָּ֑ם

lə·ḇad·dām;

by themselves ､

､ וְלַמִּצְרִ֞ים

wə·lam·miṣ·rîm

and the Egyptians ､

הָאֹכְלִ֤ים

hā·’ō·ḵə·lîm

אִתּוֹ֙

’it·tōw

with him

､ לְבַדָּ֔ם

lə·ḇad·dām,

by themselves ､

כִּי֩

kî

לֹ֨א

lō

not

יוּכְל֜וּן

yū·ḵə·lūn

הַמִּצְרִ֗ים

ham·miṣ·rîm,

לֶאֱכֹ֤ל

le·’ĕ·ḵōl

אֶת־

’eṯ-

with

הָֽעִבְרִים֙

hā·‘iḇ·rîm

– לֶ֔חֶם

le·ḥem,

food –

כִּי־

kî-

תוֹעֵבָ֥ה

ṯō·w·‘ê·ḇāh

הִ֖וא

hî

that [is]

. לְמִצְרָֽיִם׃

lə·miṣ·rā·yim.

to Egypt .

וַיֵּשְׁב֣וּ

way·yê·šə·ḇū

､ לְפָנָ֔יו

lə·p̄ā·nāw,

הַבְּכֹר֙

hab·bə·ḵōr

､ כִּבְכֹ֣רָת֔וֹ

kiḇ·ḵō·rā·ṯōw,

according to his birthright ､

וְהַצָּעִ֖יר

wə·haṣ·ṣā·‘îr

and the youngest

､ כִּצְעִרָת֑וֹ

kiṣ·‘i·rā·ṯōw;

according to his youth ､

וַיִּתְמְה֥וּ

way·yiṯ·mə·hū

and looked in astonishment

הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

the men

אִ֥ישׁ

’îš

אֶל־

’el-

at

. רֵעֵֽהוּ׃

rê·‘ê·hū.

וַיִּשָּׂ֨א

way·yiś·śā

And he took

מַשְׂאֹ֜ת

maś·’ōṯ

מֵאֵ֣ת

mê·’êṯ

פָּנָיו֮

pā·nāw

､ אֲלֵהֶם֒

’ă·lê·hem

to them ､

וַתֵּ֜רֶב

wat·tê·reḇ

but was as much

מַשְׂאַ֧ת

maś·’aṯ

בִּנְיָמִ֛ן

bin·yā·min

מִמַּשְׂאֹ֥ת

mim·maś·’ōṯ

as

､ כֻּלָּ֖ם

kul·lām

any of theirs ､

חָמֵ֣שׁ

ḥā·mêš

. יָד֑וֹת

yā·ḏō·wṯ;

､ וַיִּשְׁתּ֥וּ

way·yiš·tū

So they drank ､

וַֽיִּשְׁכְּר֖וּ

way·yiš·kə·rū

. עִמּֽוֹ׃

‘im·mōw.

with him .
