The Burden Concerning Moab

מַשָּׂ֖א

maś·śā

The burden against

. מוֹאָ֑ב

mō·w·’āḇ;

כִּ֠י

kî

בְּלֵ֞יל

bə·lêl

in the night

､ שֻׁדַּ֨ד

šud·daḏ

is laid waste ､

עָ֤ר

‘ār

מוֹאָב֙

mō·w·’āḇ

– נִדְמָ֔ה

niḏ·māh,

[And] destroyed –

כִּ֗י

kî,

בְּלֵ֛יל

bə·lêl

in the night

､ שֻׁדַּ֥ד

šud·daḏ

is laid waste ､

קִיר־

qîr-

מוֹאָ֖ב

mō·w·’āḇ

– נִדְמָֽה׃

niḏ·māh.

[And] destroyed –

עָלָ֨ה

‘ā·lāh

הַבַּ֧יִת

hab·ba·yiṯ

to the temple

､ וְדִיבֹ֛ן

wə·ḏî·ḇōn

and to Dibon ､

､ הַבָּמ֖וֹת

hab·bā·mō·wṯ

the high places ､

. לְבֶ֑כִי

lə·ḇe·ḵî;

to weep .

עַל־

‘al-

､ נְב֞וֹ

nə·ḇōw

Nebo ､

וְעַ֤ל

wə·‘al

and over

– מֵֽידְבָא֙

mê·ḏə·ḇā

מוֹאָ֣ב

mō·w·’āḇ

יְיֵלִ֔יל

yə·yê·lîl,

will wail

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

On all

רֹאשָׁ֣יו

rō·šāw

､ קָרְחָ֔ה

qā·rə·ḥāh,

[will be] baldness ､

כָּל־

kāl-

[And] every

זָקָ֖ן

zā·qān

. גְּרוּעָֽה׃

gə·rū·‘āh.

בְּחוּצֹתָ֖יו

bə·ḥū·ṣō·ṯāw

In their streets

חָ֣גְרוּ

ḥā·ḡə·rū

they will clothe themselves with

– שָׂ֑ק

śāq;

עַ֣ל

‘al

On

､ גַּגּוֹתֶ֧יהָ

gag·gō·w·ṯe·hā

the tops of their houses ､

､ וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֛יהָ

ū·ḇir·ḥō·ḇō·ṯe·hā

and in their streets ､

כֻּלֹּ֥ה

kul·lōh

､ יְיֵלִ֖יל

yə·yê·lîl

will wail ､

יֹרֵ֥ד

yō·rêḏ

. בַּבֶּֽכִי׃

bab·be·ḵî.

､ וַתִּזְעַ֤ק

wat·tiz·‘aq

And will cry out ､

חֶשְׁבּוֹן֙

ḥeš·bō·wn

– וְאֶלְעָלֵ֔ה

wə·’el·‘ā·lêh,

and Elealeh –

עַד־

‘aḏ-

as far as

– יַ֖הַץ

ya·haṣ

נִשְׁמַ֣ע

niš·ma‘

קוֹלָ֑ם

qō·w·lām;

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֗ן

kên,

חֲלֻצֵ֤י

ḥă·lu·ṣê

the armed soldiers

מוֹאָב֙

mō·w·’āḇ

– יָרִ֔יעוּ

yā·rî·‘ū,

will cry out –

נַפְשׁ֖וֹ

nap̄·šōw

יָ֥רְעָה

yā·rə·‘āh

will be burdensome

. לּֽוֹ׃

lōw.

to him .

לִבִּי֙

lib·bî

– לְמוֹאָ֣ב

lə·mō·w·’āḇ

יִזְעָ֔ק

yiz·‘āq,

will cry out

בְּרִיחֶ֕הָ

bə·rî·ḥe·hā

His fugitives [shall flee]

עַד־

‘aḏ-

to

､ צֹ֖עַר

ṣō·‘ar

Zoar ､

עֶגְלַ֣ת

‘eḡ·laṯ

[Like] a three-year-old heifer

– שְׁלִשִׁיָּ֑ה

šə·li·šî·yāh;

of three years old –

כִּ֣י ׀

kî

for by

מַעֲלֵ֣ה

ma·‘ă·lêh

הַלּוּחִ֗ית

hal·lū·ḥîṯ,

בִּבְכִי֙

biḇ·ḵî

– יַֽעֲלֶה־

ya·‘ă·leh-

they will go up –

בּ֔וֹ

bōw,

in

כִּ֚י

kî

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

de·reḵ

in the way

חוֹרֹנַ֔יִם

ḥō·w·rō·na·yim,

זַעֲקַת־

za·‘ă·qaṯ-

שֶׁ֖בֶר

še·ḇer

. יְעֹעֵֽרוּ׃

yə·‘ō·‘ê·rū.

they will raise up .

כִּֽי־

kî-

מֵ֥י

mê

נִמְרִ֖ים

nim·rîm

. מְשַׁמּ֣וֹת

mə·šam·mō·wṯ

יִֽהְי֑וּ

yih·yū;

Will be

כִּֽי־

kî-

､ יָבֵ֤שׁ

yā·ḇêš

has withered away ､

חָצִיר֙

ḥā·ṣîr

the green grass

､ כָּ֣לָה

kā·lāh

דֶ֔שֶׁא

ḏe·še,

יֶ֖רֶק

ye·req

לֹ֥א

lō

. הָיָֽה׃

hā·yāh.

there is .

עַל־

‘al-

To

כֵּ֖ן

kên

יִתְרָ֣ה

yiṯ·rāh

､ עָשָׂ֑ה

‘ā·śāh;

they have gained ､

､ וּפְקֻדָּתָ֔ם

ū·p̄ə·qud·dā·ṯām,

and what they have laid up ､

עַ֛ל

‘al

to

נַ֥חַל

na·ḥal

הָעֲרָבִ֖ים

hā·‘ă·rā·ḇîm

of the Willows

. יִשָּׂאֽוּם׃

yiś·śā·’ūm.

they will carry away .

כִּֽי־

kî-

הִקִּ֥יפָה

hiq·qî·p̄āh

has gone all around

הַזְּעָקָ֖ה

haz·zə·‘ā·qāh

the cry

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

גְּב֣וּל

gə·ḇūl

– מוֹאָ֑ב

mō·w·’āḇ;

of Moab –

עַד־

‘aḏ-

to

､ אֶגְלַ֙יִם֙

’eḡ·la·yim

יִלְלָתָ֔הּ

yil·lā·ṯāh,

וּבְאֵ֥ר

ū·ḇə·’êr

and

אֵילִ֖ים

’ê·lîm

. יִלְלָתָֽהּ׃

yil·lā·ṯāh.

כִּ֣י

kî

מֵ֤י

mê

דִימוֹן֙

ḏî·mō·wn

מָ֣לְאוּ

mā·lə·’ū

will be full

– דָ֔ם

ḏām,

of blood –

כִּֽי־

kî-

אָשִׁ֥ית

’ā·šîṯ

I will bring

עַל־

‘al-

､ דִּימ֖וֹן

dî·mō·wn

נוֹסָפ֑וֹת

nō·w·sā·p̄ō·wṯ;

לִפְלֵיטַ֤ת

lip̄·lê·ṭaṯ

upon him who escapes from

､ מוֹאָב֙

mō·w·’āḇ

Moab ､

אַרְיֵ֔ה

’ar·yêh,

וְלִשְׁאֵרִ֖ית

wə·liš·’ê·rîṯ

and on the remnant

. אֲדָמָֽה׃

’ă·ḏā·māh.

of the land .
