‘am·mî;

My people ､

יֹאמַ֖ר

yō·mar

. אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem.

דַּבְּר֞וּ

dab·bə·rū

עַל־

‘al-

לֵ֤ב

lêḇ

､ יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

yə·rū·šā·lim

to Jerusalem ､

וְקִרְא֣וּ

wə·qir·’ū

אֵלֶ֔יהָ

’ê·le·hā,

to her

כִּ֤י

kî

､ מָֽלְאָה֙

mā·lə·’āh

is ended ､

צְבָאָ֔הּ

ṣə·ḇā·’āh,

כִּ֥י

kî

､ נִרְצָ֖ה

nir·ṣāh

is pardoned ､

עֲוֺנָ֑הּ

‘ă·wō·nāh;

כִּ֤י

kî

לָקְחָה֙

lā·qə·ḥāh

she has received

מִיַּ֣ד

mî·yaḏ

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

כִּפְלַ֖יִם

kip̄·la·yim

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

. חַטֹּאתֶֽיהָ׃

ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯe·hā.

קוֹרֵ֔א

qō·w·rê,

､ בַּמִּדְבָּ֕ר

bam·miḏ·bār

in the wilderness ､

פַּנּ֖וּ

pan·nū

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

de·reḵ

the way

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

of Yahweh ､

יַשְּׁרוּ֙

yaš·šə·rū

בָּעֲרָבָ֔ה

bā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh,

in the desert

מְסִלָּ֖ה

mə·sil·lāh

. לֵאלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

lê·lō·hê·nū.

כָּל־

kāl-

גֶּיא֙

ge

､ יִנָּשֵׂ֔א

yin·nā·śê,

shall be exalted ､

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

הַ֥ר

har

וְגִבְעָ֖ה

wə·ḡiḇ·‘āh

and hill

– יִשְׁפָּ֑לוּ

yiš·pā·lū;

brought low –

וְהָיָ֤ה

wə·hā·yāh

and shall be made

הֶֽעָקֹב֙

he·‘ā·qōḇ

the crooked places

､ לְמִישׁ֔וֹר

lə·mî·šō·wr,

וְהָרְכָסִ֖ים

wə·hā·rə·ḵā·sîm

and the rough places

– לְבִקְעָֽה׃

lə·ḇiq·‘āh.

､ וְנִגְלָ֖ה

wə·niḡ·lāh

and shall be revealed ､

כְּב֣וֹד

kə·ḇō·wḏ

יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

וְרָא֤וּ

wə·rā·’ū

and shall see [it]

כָל־

ḵāl

בָּשָׂר֙

bā·śār

– יַחְדָּ֔ו

yaḥ·dāw,

כִּ֛י

kî

פִּ֥י

pî

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

. דִּבֵּֽר׃

dib·bêr.

The Word of the Lord Stands Forever

､ אֹמֵ֣ר

’ō·mêr

said ､

. קְרָ֔א

qə·rā,

､ וְאָמַ֖ר

wə·’ā·mar

And he said ､

מָ֣ה

māh

؟ אֶקְרָ֑א

’eq·rā;

כָּל־

kāl-

הַבָּשָׂ֣ר

hab·bā·śār

flesh [is]

､ חָצִ֔יר

ḥā·ṣîr,

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

and all

חַסְדּ֖וֹ

ḥas·dōw

its loveliness [is]

כְּצִ֥יץ

kə·ṣîṣ

like the flower

. הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃

haś·śā·ḏeh.

of the field .

､ יָבֵ֤שׁ

yā·ḇêš

חָצִיר֙

ḥā·ṣîr

､ נָ֣בֵֽל

nā·ḇêl

צִ֔יץ

ṣîṣ,

כִּ֛י

kî

ר֥וּחַ

rū·aḥ

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

נָ֣שְׁבָה

nā·šə·ḇāh

בּ֑וֹ

bōw;

אָכֵ֥ן

’ā·ḵên

חָצִ֖יר

ḥā·ṣîr

. הָעָֽם׃

hā·‘ām.

the people [are] .

､ יָבֵ֥שׁ

yā·ḇêš

חָצִ֖יר

ḥā·ṣîr

､ נָ֣בֵֽל

nā·ḇêl

צִ֑יץ

ṣîṣ;

וּדְבַר־

ū·ḏə·ḇar-

but the word

אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū

יָק֥וּם

yā·qūm

. לְעוֹלָֽם׃

lə·‘ō·w·lām.

Here is Your God!

‘al

har-

the mountain –

גָּבֹ֤הַ

gā·ḇō·ha

עֲלִי־

‘ă·lî-

Get up

לָךְ֙

lāḵ

､ מְבַשֶּׂ֣רֶת

mə·ḇaś·śe·reṯ

who bring good tidings ､

､ צִיּ֔וֹן

ṣî·yō·wn,

Zion ､

הָרִ֤ימִי

hā·rî·mî

– בַכֹּ֙חַ֙

ḇak·kō·aḥ

with strength –

קוֹלֵ֔ךְ

qō·w·lêḵ,

､ מְבַשֶּׂ֖רֶת

mə·ḇaś·śe·reṯ

You who bring good tidings ､

､ יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

yə·rū·šā·lim;

､ הָרִ֙ימִי֙

hā·rî·mî

Lift [it] up ､

אַל־

’al-

not

– תִּירָ֔אִי

tî·rā·’î,

be afraid –

אִמְרִי֙

’im·rî

לְעָרֵ֣י

lə·‘ā·rê

to the cities

､ יְהוּדָ֔ה

yə·hū·ḏāh,

of Judah ､

הִנֵּ֖ה

hin·nêh

! אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem.

､ הִנֵּ֨ה

hin·nêh

אֲדֹנָ֤י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

יְהוִה֙

Yah·weh

בְּחָזָ֣ק

bə·ḥā·zāq

with a mighty [hand]

יָב֔וֹא

yā·ḇō·w,

וּזְרֹע֖וֹ

ū·zə·rō·‘ōw

מֹ֣שְׁלָה

mō·šə·lāh

ל֑וֹ

lōw;

､ הִנֵּ֤ה

hin·nêh

שְׂכָרוֹ֙

śə·ḵā·rōw

His reward [is]

אִתּ֔וֹ

’it·tōw,

with Him

וּפְעֻלָּת֖וֹ

ū·p̄ə·‘ul·lā·ṯōw

. לְפָנָֽיו׃

lə·p̄ā·nāw.

כְּרֹעֶה֙

kə·rō·‘eh

Like a shepherd

עֶדְר֣וֹ

‘eḏ·rōw

– יִרְעֶ֔ה

yir·‘eh,

He will feed –

､ בִּזְרֹעוֹ֙

biz·rō·‘ōw

with His arm ､

יְקַבֵּ֣ץ

yə·qab·bêṣ

He will gather

טְלָאִ֔ים

ṭə·lā·’îm,

､ וּבְחֵיק֖וֹ

ū·ḇə·ḥê·qōw

and in His bosom ､

יִשָּׂ֑א

yiś·śā;

עָל֖וֹת

‘ā·lō·wṯ

those who are with young

. יְנַהֵֽל׃

yə·na·hêl.

[And] gently lead .

､ בְּשָׁעֳל֜וֹ

bə·šā·‘o·lōw

in the hollow of His hand ､

מַ֗יִם

ma·yim,

וְשָׁמַ֙יִם֙

wə·šā·ma·yim

､ בַּזֶּ֣רֶת

baz·ze·reṯ

with a span ､

תִּכֵּ֔ן

tik·kên,

וְכָ֥ל

wə·ḵāl

､ בַּשָּׁלִ֖שׁ

baš·šā·liš

in a measure ､

עֲפַ֣ר

‘ă·p̄ar

the dust

הָאָ֑רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ;

of the earth

וְשָׁקַ֤ל

wə·šā·qal

､ בַּפֶּ֙לֶס֙

bap·pe·les

in scales ､

הָרִ֔ים

hā·rîm,

וּגְבָע֖וֹת

ū·ḡə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ

and the hills

؟ בְּמֹאזְנָֽיִם׃

bə·mō·zə·nā·yim.

in a balance ؟

מִֽי־

mî-

תִכֵּ֥ן

ṯik·kên

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

ר֖וּחַ

rū·aḥ

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

of Yahweh ､

וְאִ֥ישׁ

wə·’îš

Or

עֲצָת֖וֹ

‘ă·ṣā·ṯōw

[as] His counselor

. יוֹדִיעֶֽנּוּ׃

yō·w·ḏî·‘en·nū.

has taught Him .

אֶת־

’eṯ-

With

מִ֤י

mî

､ נוֹעָץ֙

nō·w·‘āṣ

did He take counsel ､

וַיְבִינֵ֔הוּ

way·ḇî·nê·hū,

and [who] instructed Him

וַֽיְלַמְּדֵ֖הוּ

way·lam·mə·ḏê·hū

בְּאֹ֣רַח

bə·’ō·raḥ

in the path

､ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט

miš·pāṭ;

of justice ､

וַיְלַמְּדֵ֣הוּ

way·lam·mə·ḏê·hū

and who taught Him

､ דַ֔עַת

ḏa·‘aṯ,

וְדֶ֥רֶךְ

wə·ḏe·reḵ

and the way

תְּבוּנ֖וֹת

tə·ḇū·nō·wṯ

of understanding

؟ יוֹדִיעֶֽנּוּ׃

yō·w·ḏî·‘en·nū.

､ הֵ֤ן

hên

גּוֹיִם֙

gō·w·yim

the nations [are]

כְּמַ֣ר

kə·mar

as a drop

､ מִדְּלִ֔י

mid·də·lî,

in a bucket ､

וּכְשַׁ֥חַק

ū·ḵə·ša·ḥaq

and as the small dust on

– מֹאזְנַ֖יִם

mō·zə·na·yim

the scales –

נֶחְשָׁ֑בוּ

neḥ·šā·ḇū;

､ הֵ֥ן

hên

Look ､

אִיִּ֖ים

’î·yîm

כַּדַּ֥ק

kad·daq

as a very small thing

. יִטּֽוֹל׃

yiṭ·ṭō·wl.

He lifts up .

וּלְבָנ֕וֹן

ū·lə·ḇā·nō·wn

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[is] not

דֵּ֖י

dê

､ בָּעֵ֑ר

bā·‘êr;

to burn ､

וְחַיָּת֔וֹ

wə·ḥay·yā·ṯōw,

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[are] not

דֵּ֖י

dê

. עוֹלָֽה׃

‘ō·w·lāh.

a burnt offering .

הַגּוֹיִ֖ם

hag·gō·w·yim

– כְּאַ֣יִן

kə·’a·yin

[are] as nothing –

נֶגְדּ֑וֹ

neḡ·dōw;

､ מֵאֶ֥פֶס

mê·’e·p̄es

less than nothing ､

וָתֹ֖הוּ

wā·ṯō·hū

נֶחְשְׁבוּ־

neḥ·šə·ḇū-

and they are counted

. לֽוֹ׃

lōw.

by Him .

וְאֶל־

wə·’el-

מִ֖י

mî

תְּדַמְּי֣וּן

tə·ḏam·mə·yūn

؟ אֵ֑ל

’êl;

God ؟

וּמַה־

ū·mah-

דְּמ֖וּת

də·mūṯ

תַּ֥עַרְכוּ

ta·‘ar·ḵū

will you compare

. לֽוֹ׃

lōw.

to Him .

､ הַפֶּ֙סֶל֙

hap·pe·sel

An image ､

נָסַ֣ךְ

nā·saḵ

חָרָ֔שׁ

ḥā·rāš,

וְצֹרֵ֖ף

wə·ṣō·rêp̄

and the goldsmith

､ בַּזָּהָ֣ב

baz·zā·hāḇ

with gold ､

יְרַקְּעֶ֑נּוּ

yə·raq·qə·‘en·nū;

וּרְתֻק֥וֹת

ū·rə·ṯu·qō·wṯ

כֶּ֖סֶף

ke·sep̄

. צוֹרֵֽף׃

ṣō·w·rêp̄.

the silversmith casts .

הַֽמְסֻכָּ֣ן

ham·suk·kān

Whoever [is] too impoverished

תְּרוּמָ֔ה

tə·rū·māh,

for [such] a contribution

עֵ֥ץ

‘êṣ

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

– יִרְקַ֖ב

yir·qaḇ

[that] will rot –

יִבְחָ֑ר

yiḇ·ḥār;

חָרָ֤שׁ

ḥā·rāš

חָכָם֙

ḥā·ḵām

יְבַקֶּשׁ־

yə·ḇaq·qeš-

ל֔וֹ

lōw,

לְהָכִ֥ין

lə·hā·ḵîn

､ פֶּ֖סֶל

pe·sel

a carved image ､

לֹ֥א

lō

[that] not

. יִמּֽוֹט׃

yim·mō·wṭ.

will totter .

הֲל֤וֹא

hă·lō·w

Have not

؟ תֵֽדְעוּ֙

ṯê·ḏə·‘ū

הֲל֣וֹא

have not

؟ תִשְׁמָ֔עוּ

ṯiš·mā·‘ū,

הֲל֛וֹא

Has not

הֻגַּ֥ד

hug·gaḏ

it been told you

؟ מֵרֹ֖אשׁ

mê·rōš

from the beginning ؟

לָכֶ֑ם

lā·ḵem;

to

הֲלוֹא֙

hă·lō·w

have not

הֲבִ֣ינֹתֶ֔ם

hă·ḇî·nō·ṯem,

מוֹסְד֖וֹת

mō·ws·ḏō·wṯ

from the foundations

؟ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

of the earth ؟

הַיֹּשֵׁב֙

hay·yō·šêḇ

[it is] He who sits

עַל־

‘al-

ח֣וּג

ḥūḡ

､ הָאָ֔רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ,

of the earth ､

וְיֹשְׁבֶ֖יהָ

wə·yō·šə·ḇe·hā

and its inhabitants [are]

– כַּחֲגָבִ֑ים

ka·ḥă·ḡā·ḇîm;

like grasshoppers –

הַנּוֹטֶ֤ה

han·nō·w·ṭeh

who stretches out

､ כַדֹּק֙

ḵad·dōq

like a curtain ､

שָׁמַ֔יִם

šā·ma·yim,

וַיִּמְתָּחֵ֥ם

way·yim·tā·ḥêm

and spreads them out

כָּאֹ֖הֶל

kā·’ō·hel

– לָשָֽׁבֶת׃

lā·šā·ḇeṯ.

to dwell in –

הַנּוֹתֵ֥ן

han·nō·w·ṯên

רוֹזְנִ֖ים

rō·wz·nîm

– לְאָ֑יִן

lə·’ā·yin;

to nothing –

שֹׁ֥פְטֵי

šō·p̄ə·ṭê

אֶ֖רֶץ

’e·reṣ

of the earth

כַּתֹּ֥הוּ

kat·tō·hū

. עָשָֽׂה׃

‘ā·śāh.

He makes .

､ אַ֣ף

’ap̄

בַּל־

bal-

not

– נִטָּ֗עוּ

niṭ·ṭā·‘ū,

shall they be planted –

､ אַ֚ף

’ap̄

בַּל־

bal-

not

､ זֹרָ֔עוּ

zō·rā·‘ū,

shall they be sown ､

､ אַ֛ף

’ap̄

בַּל־

bal-

not

שֹׁרֵ֥שׁ

šō·rêš

shall take root

､ בָּאָ֖רֶץ

bā·’ā·reṣ

in the earth ､

גִּזְעָ֑ם

giz·‘ām;

וְגַם־

wə·ḡam-

נָשַׁ֤ף

nā·šap̄

He will blow

בָּהֶם֙

bā·hem

､ וַיִּבָ֔שׁוּ

way·yi·ḇā·šū,

and they will wither ､

וּסְעָרָ֖ה

ū·sə·‘ā·rāh

and the whirlwind

כַּקַּ֥שׁ

kaq·qaš

. תִּשָּׂאֵֽם׃

tiś·śā·’êm.

will take them away .

תְדַמְּי֖וּנִי

ṯə·ḏam·mə·yū·nî

will you liken Me

؟ וְאֶשְׁוֶ֑ה

wə·’eš·weh;

Or [to whom] shall I be equal ؟

יֹאמַ֖ר

yō·mar

. קָדֽוֹשׁ׃

qā·ḏō·wōš.

the Holy one .

שְׂאוּ־

śə·’ū-

､ מָר֨וֹם

mā·rō·wm

on high ､

עֵינֵיכֶ֤ם

‘ê·nê·ḵem

וּרְאוּ֙

ū·rə·’ū

and see

מִי־

mî-

בָרָ֣א

ḇā·rā

אֵ֔לֶּה

’êl·leh,

הַמּוֹצִ֥יא

ham·mō·w·ṣî

､ בְמִסְפָּ֖ר

ḇə·mis·pār

by number ､

צְבָאָ֑ם

ṣə·ḇā·’ām;

לְכֻלָּם֙

lə·ḵul·lām

בְּשֵׁ֣ם

bə·šêm

יִקְרָ֔א

yiq·rā,

מֵרֹ֤ב

mê·rōḇ

､ אוֹנִים֙

’ō·w·nîm

His strength ､

וְאַמִּ֣יץ

wə·’am·mîṣ

– כֹּ֔חַ

kō·aḥ,

[His] power –

אִ֖ישׁ

’îš

לֹ֥א

lō

Not

. נֶעְדָּֽר׃

ne‘·dār.

לָ֤מָּה

lām·māh

תֹאמַר֙

ṯō·mar

､ יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ,

､ וּתְדַבֵּ֖ר

ū·ṯə·ḏab·bêr

and speak ､

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

yiś·rā·’êl;

נִסְתְּרָ֤ה

nis·tə·rāh

דַרְכִּי֙

ḏar·kî

My way

מֵֽיְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

וּמֵאֱלֹהַ֖י

ū·mê·’ĕ·lō·hay

and by my God

מִשְׁפָּטִ֥י

miš·pā·ṭî

. יַעֲבֽוֹר׃

ya·‘ă·ḇō·wr.

is passed over .

הֲל֨וֹא

hă·lō·w

Have not

؟ יָדַ֜עְתָּ

yā·ḏa‘·tā

אִם־

’im-

lo

לֹ֣א

lō

not

､ שָׁמַ֗עְתָּ

šā·ma‘·tā,

have you heard ､

､ אֱלֹהֵ֨י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God ､

עוֹלָ֤ם ׀

‘ō·w·lām

､ יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

בּוֹרֵא֙

bō·w·rê

קְצ֣וֹת

qə·ṣō·wṯ

of the ends

､ הָאָ֔רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ,

of the earth ､

､ לֹ֥א

lō

יִיעַ֖ף

yî·‘ap̄

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

؟ יִיגָ֑ע

yî·ḡā‘;

is weary ؟

אֵ֥ין

’ên

not

חֵ֖קֶר

ḥê·qer

is unsearchable

. לִתְבוּנָתֽוֹ׃

liṯ·ḇū·nā·ṯōw.

His understanding .

נֹתֵ֥ן

nō·ṯên

– לַיָּעֵ֖ף

lay·yā·‘êp̄

to the weak –

כֹּ֑חַ

kō·aḥ;

וּלְאֵ֥ין

ū·lə·’ên

and to no

אוֹנִ֖ים

’ō·w·nîm

[those who have] strength

עָצְמָ֥ה

‘ā·ṣə·māh

. יַרְבֶּֽה׃

yar·beh.

וְיִֽעֲפ֥וּ

wə·yi·‘ă·p̄ū

And Even shall faint

נְעָרִ֖ים

nə·‘ā·rîm

､ וְיִגָ֑עוּ

wə·yi·ḡā·‘ū;

and be weary ､

וּבַחוּרִ֖ים

ū·ḇa·ḥū·rîm

and the young men

כָּשׁ֥וֹל

kā·šō·wl

､ יִכָּשֵֽׁלוּ׃

yik·kā·šê·lū.

וְקוֹיֵ֤

wə·qō·w·yê

but those who wait on

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

יַחֲלִ֣יפוּ

ya·ḥă·lî·p̄ū

– כֹ֔חַ

ḵō·aḥ,

[their] strength –

יַעֲל֥וּ

ya·‘ă·lū

they shall mount up

אֵ֖בֶר

’ê·ḇer

with wings

– כַּנְּשָׁרִ֑ים

kan·nə·šā·rîm;

like eagles –

､ יָר֙וּצוּ֙

yā·rū·ṣū

they shall run ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

– יִיגָ֔עוּ

yî·ḡā·‘ū,

be weary –

､ יֵלְכ֖וּ

yê·lə·ḵū

they shall walk ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

. יִיעָֽפוּ׃

yî·‘ā·p̄ū.
